‘LOST’

Nordic pop siren Iselin has shared an acoustic version of her new single, ‘Lost’, a touching take on the original which was the follow up to her debut single, ‘Bathtub’.

Forgoing the lush instrumentation of the original, the new, stripped back version accentuates the raw honesty of Iselin’s vocals, and paints the track in an even more affecting light, highlighting its emotional power and poignant lyricism.

‘Lost’ is Iselin’s second solo release, following her debut single, ‘Bathtub’. Inspired by the same muse of honest lyricism that permeates her writing generally, the track was written about an emotionally tumultuous period of her life, and formed her own personal therapy. Throughout her writing, Iselin strives to create a universal and personal message that can be shared by her audience.

‘Lost’ and ‘Bathtub’ are the first releases from Iselin after she provided the vocals for Alan Walker’s huge hits ‘Faded’ and ‘Sing Me To Sleep’. Now returning with a wealth of new material, it’s clear that Iselin is ready to secure her place as a powerful new musical force.

Ahead of their huge U.S. tour supporting Mike Shinoda, Don Broco have shared a new video for ‘The Blues’, as well as announcing new headline dates in Europe.

Featuring footage from their extensive touring this year, including Warped Tour and the band’s European dates with 30 Seconds To Mars and Mike Shinoda, the video sees the band laying waste to festival stages and having a lot of FUN around the world.

“We had an absolute blast this summer,” says singer Rob Damiani. “Getting to experience Warped Tour on its last ever run, especially us playing it for the first time, was an insane few weeks we’ll never forget. We got back to the UK just in time for Reading & Leeds and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better set of homecoming shows. It was a mad weekend at our fave fest in the world. Straight after that we headed to Europe for some big ol’ gigs with 30 Seconds To Mars and Mike Shinoda and got to play some places for the very first time (shoutout Poland!) We couldn’t fit anywhere near it all into three and a half minutes, but we tried and hope you enjoy our vid for ‘The Blues’. To everyone that caught us live this summer thank you and we’ll be seeing you all very soon!”

Don Broco embark on a huge North American tour as main support for Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda next week, starting in Montreal and including dates in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco amongst many others.

They then continue their World Tour with some very special dates with MAN WITH A MISSION in Asia, before kicking off 2019 with a headline run through Europe, starting in Madrid on January 19th.

These dates come ahead of the band’s biggest UK headline tour to date in February, which will see them play arenas around the country, including a date at London’s SSE Wembley Arena, and two shows at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse, one of which has already sold out.

The band have now announced the release of the final remaining tickets for the Wembley Arena show, which are on sale now and available here.

GEORGE GLEW Releases Atmospheric New Single ‘Higher’

GEORGE GLEW

IMG_3278

RELEASES NEW SINGLE
‘HIGHER’
SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD

NEW EP – VOL. 2
DUE FOR RELEASE IN SPRING 2019

Bristol-based artist George Glew has released his new single, ‘Higher’, the first to be taken from his upcoming EP, Vol. 2, and the follow up to this year’s Vol. 1.

The track premiered with Clash, who called it “a deft fusion of emotive songwriting and dappled electronics… a confident step forward, rooted in that broad, affecting vocal, and the sparse, subtle arrangement.” A delicate blend of minimalist guitars and vocal harmonies, ‘Higher’ builds from subtle fragility to soaring crescendos, an uplifting and transcendent sonic journey taking in soulful vocals, captivating production and infectious, stirring choruses.

“Through the past couple of years I’ve been through some of the biggest challenges personally,” explains George. “The song is about togetherness and how, through bonds in friends and family, we can really face and take on that adversity.”

The track is the first in a series of releases that will form his new EP, Vol. 2, due for release in Spring 2019. It finds George exploring collaboration more than his previous releases, seeing him writing and producing with friends rather than writing alone, seeking to share the moment created in the music.

“I changed my approach to writing by just wanting the music to make me feel something rather than it being a well-crafted song,” says George.

This new approach has become a muse for his musical progression; a catalyst for finding a new sound which permeates his upcoming releases.

The new track follows the release of his latest EP, Vol. 1, which has over 2.2 million plays on Spotify alone. George has supported the likes of Tom Walker, Lewis Capaldi, Marsicans, Sea Girls and Dennis Lloyd, and his previous releases have seen acclaim from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Dork and Clash, as well as radio support from Annie Mac, John Kennedy, Elton John and a feature on Apple Music’s A-List.

DEBUT HEADLINE SHOW
THE HAUNT, BRIGHTON – NOVEMBER 13th

18 year-old rising pop star Libby Whitehouse has released her new single ‘New Boy’. The Brighton singer calls out cheaters across the world as she delivers a sharp and sassy empowerment pop anthem reminiscent of the likes of Dua Lipa, Mabel and Stefflon Don.

Regarding the single Libby says, “I wrote ‘New Boy’ about my friend who kept going back to a boy who treated her badly, and he’d only become interested again once she’d left him. The song is a fun way of saying, “Well now it’s too late!”, and is about appreciating what you have whilst you have it, because girls won’t wait around forever!!”

Continuing she says, “The track is a different vibe to anything I’ve done before, it’s got more of a dance vibe to it and it’s the first song I ever wrote with my producer Chris Priest. It means so much to me and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!!”

In just a year Libby has already proved herself to be a fast-rising name on the pop scene. Since emerging in 2017 she’s played at summer festivals including The Great Escape and I Luv Live in London, while she has released well received singles including ‘Cut It Off’, ‘Recipe’ and ‘Hands On Me’, which have clocked up over a million streams, with the latter entering the Spotify UK Viral Chart Top 30.

Now with the release of ‘New Boy’, Libby continues to cement herself as a fresh and exciting new name on the UK pop scene. She will be performing her first ever live show and will headline The Haunt in Brighton on November 13th to celebrate the release of her new music. Tickets are available via SeeTickets.

Interview: Up and Coming Music Artist – FØNX

IMG_2149

FØNX is an up and coming music artist from the UK that everyone should keep their eyes (& ears) on. His latest single ‘Come On Over’ was recently released and it’s absolutely incredible. With a jazzy, pop, soul vibe, it truly is a bop with a nostalgic feel to it. I was lucky enough to have a chat with him about his influences, his music and his life, and I can’t wait for ya’ll to learn more about him. He’s a lovely, humble musician with the drive to make music his own way. Read on for more from FØNX.

  • Can you introduce yourself and tell us where you’re from?

I’m FØNX and I’m from the UK. I currently live in a town by the sea not too far from Brighton.

  • How would you describe your sound?

I’d describe my sound as soulful guitar-driven, lyrical music with hints of RnB and Jazz.

  • When did you first realize you wanted to be a musician?

I’ve always wanted to be an artist from a young age when I was listening to Eminem and writing lyrics at school. I then moved on from that and very slowly found my voice and starting song writing. I think it’s always something I’ve wanted to pursue but once I got into The Brit School some years later to study music that was when I said to myself this is what I’m going to pursue now 100%.

  • When did you begin writing songs?

I was always writing lyrics and making backing tracks from an early age but I think I probably wrote my first ‘proper’ song when I was about 14 – which nobody ever has to hear!
  • What is your songwriting process like?

Always random. I’ve gone through phases of being obsessed with the production of songs and thinking I’ve got to be creating the most cutting edge thing you’ve ever heard to be noticed. But, I think I’ve learned now that longevity comes from the song writing not what synths you’re using, and people connect with ‘songs’ more than anything else so I’m baring that in mind when I write now.

I’m always recording notes into my phone with ideas so usually this is how I get ideas rolling for songs or themes.

  • Who has influenced you musically (& personally)?

Many artists, but I’d say of late John Mayer, George Benson and D’Angelo have influenced me just in terms of being inspired by their music and their musicianship.

My Dad has also been a big influence with introducing me to so many amazing artist’s and albums over the years. He’s also a musician so there’s always been a constant stream of music playing around me.

  • What is your favorite song to perform live?

At the moment it’s a brand new song I’ve written called ‘Feels For You’ as it was inspired by someone I met recently. It’s always your latest creation that is your favourite as it’s new and exciting. I actually performed this song live for the first time while the person who inspired this song was in the audience…bit nerve-racking!

  • Your latest release, ‘Come On Over,’ has a mellow, jazzy, R&B vibe to it & talks about heartbreak and the struggle to move on from a relationship. How important is it for you to pour personal experiences into your songwriting and maybe drawing from the experiences of others to relate to your audience?

It’s hugely important for me as I really don’t want to be singing songs that don’t mean anything to me. I’ve had people push me to write songs quickly in the past and you just end up writing fictitious stories which mean nothing to you and at the end of the day and I’d much prefer to know exactly why I wrote a song and who was in my mind while writing it. So I’m just taking my time and when I feel strongly enough about something I’ll write about it.

  • Do you have any upcoming projects we should keep our eyes (& ears) open for?

I will be releasing a new single in the not too distant future which I’m very excited about as this one is definitely more upbeat than ‘Come on Over’ and I’m also busy working on an EP which I plan to release in the New Year. I’m producing the EP myself so this is taking a lot of time and patience and is something I’ve never done with the FØNX project before.

  • Where can everyone find you online?

You can find me on all usual social media and stores but if you’re on Spotify go follow me there and if you use Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, you can also find me there at /fonxmusic.

I’m Not Crying, You Are | Check out the first music video that actually made me cry

YoursTruly

It’s no secret that I’m a long-time music lover. I grew up in days of TRL and used to watch music videos on VH1 every morning as I was getting ready for school. MTV’s Making the Video was one of my favorite shows to watch (you know, back when they actually used to play music videos).

With that being said, I can honestly say that no music video has ever made me cry. Until yesterday. A friend of mine posted a link to a music video on her Facebook page yesterday, so I decided to check it out because Bastille & Marshmello, amiright?

This video legit made tears fall down my face. Take a minute to watch the video and then read on for some back story.

Ok, so now the back story.

I started working when I was 17. I got my first actual office job once I graduated from high school and the first thing I bought with my first decent paycheck was a puppy. We’d gone to visit a woman who bred Golden Retrievers and I fell in love with one (never mind the fact that my cell phone had fallen out of my bag right onto the head of one of the adorable little puppies and I felt like I had an obligation to choose that one because I’d probably caused some damage to its adorable little brain – update: I didn’t cause any damage). I know dog owners are biased and always claim to have the best dog ever, but we literally hit the jack pot with our Kayla. She was my first child and she was the absolute best. A year after we adopted Kayla, my niece was born and Kayla never left her side. Briana could climb on her and smack her in the face and tug at her tail, but Kayla never went in defense mode. Unless, that is, Briana tried to run into the street and Kayla ran up and nudged her in the butt to knock her down before she could get there.

We had 12 fantastic years with our Kayla before we found out that she was full of cancer and had to be put down. I will never forget sitting in the vet’s office watching my niece hold the paw of her first best friend. Kayla passed away 2 months before my father passed away from cancer that we didn’t know he had, so the whole time period was just an emotional roller coaster. Seeing this video made me think of the happiness Kayla brought to all of us. We’ve yet to find the nerve to adopt another one, but maybe someday we will! Here’s a pic of my first child, Kayla:

VISTA Releases New Single “Born For Blood”

IMG_2101
Photo: Holly Turner

Electronic alt rock band VISTA are not anywhere near slowing down their momentum. Fresh off the completion of their third US tour, “The Bloodlust Tour,” multiple support dates with Set It Off, and a music video for their last single “Witch Hunt”, VISTA has officially released a new single, titled “Born For Blood,” out on all digital platforms NOW. Recorded and produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount of ZK Productions (Mayday Parade, Set It Off), “Born For Blood,” a wildly upbeat, distortion-laced, electronic-infused alternative rock track explores themes of hunger, determination, and empowerment. The stand-alone single is a true testament to VISTA’s evolution this year, filled with their signature layered vocals, gritty production, and raw passion. “Born For Blood” will be the final release for their current EP cycle, and the band recently returned to the studio to begin working on their 3rd record. Prior to this release, they dropped their last single “Witch Hunt” in May, which quickly became the band’s most-streamed song on Spotify, racking up 72,000+ streams as of yet.

An electronically-tinged alternative rock band, NY-based outfit VISTA originally formed in late 2015. Comprised of lead vocalist Hope Vista and guitarist Greg Almeida, the band combines both modern alternative rock and electronic influences to create their unique anthemic sound. VISTA released their debut 4-track EP “VERSUS” shortly after their original inception, in which their debut single “On The Brink” debuted worldwide on idobi radio. Their name hasn’t been shy in the press, since; the band has garnered praise from outlets such as Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Substream, and AXS. Since the start of 2017, VISTA has supported Fueled By Ramen artist Against The Current at Irving Plaza, gained idobi rotation with their single “Henchmen,” an anti-oppression anthem, and completed two headlining tours. Their most recent 7-track EP, “Long Live,” released in July 2017, lyrically centralizes around the theme of finding an oasis in a dystopian society. “Long Live” immediately made its’ way onto three different iTunes Alternative charts and sparked the completion of two promotional tours, in August and November, respectively. Most recently in 2018, VISTA released their recent single “Witch Hunt” (produced by ZK Productions), completed their third US tour “The Bloodlust Tour,” played a date of the Vans Warped Tour in New York, played multiple September support dates with Set It Off (Fearless Records), “Witch Hunt” premiered worldwide on idobi radio, and quickly became their most-streamed song, garnering 70,000+ Spotify streams, and earned video rotation in Journeys’ stores nationwide. The final single of the Long Live EP cycle, “Born For Blood” is out on all digital platforms NOW.

British glam-rockers The Struts have shared the new video for ‘Primadonna Like Me’. The video follows the announcement of their highly anticipated new album, YOUNG&DANGEROUS, out October 26th via Polydor Records.

A raucous barrage of exuberant excess, the video sees the band take a wild trip around the glistening casinos of Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace Hotel. Surrounded by screaming fans and dripping with foot-stomping, disco-inflected, glitter-drenched swagger, the video also features footage from their recent sold out San Diego headline show.

“Not long ago we flew from the UK straight to Las Vegas and shot a music video in the early hours of the morning,” says frontman Luke Spiller. “Rolling around the casinos and a huge penthouse, we had a lot of fun with ‘Primadonna Like Me.’ Not quite sure how we managed to pull this off, but here it is for your own viewing pleasure. Enjoy and don’t forget to be a Primadonna, baby! X”

The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album YOUNG&DANGEROUS, the follow up to 2016’s critically acclaimed Everybody Wants, in addition to the previously released ‘Body Talks’ and most recent single ‘Bulletproof Baby’. The album will also feature their explosive collaboration, ‘Body Talks ft. Kesha’.

On YOUNG&DANGEROUS, The Struts let loose with the sing-along-ready and riff-heavy sound they’ve brought to stadiums and arenas all around the world, adorning that sound with deeper grooves and inventive textures, dreaming up a majestic glam-rock masterpiece that’s unabashedly fun but full of pure heart.

The band have also announced a UK tour for February 2019, which sees them play eight shows, finishing with London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on the 26th.

In just a few years, The Struts have found themselves embraced by some of the greatest icons in rock-and-roll history. Along with opening for The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Guns N’ Roses, the U.K.-bred four-piece was hand-picked by Mötley Crüe to serve as the supporting act for their last-ever performances, while Dave Grohl praised them as the best band to ever open for Foo Fighters.

They also made their most high-profile US TV appearance to date this week, in front of more than 12 million people, performing their 2016 US hit single ‘Could Have Been Me’ and a cover of Janis Joplin’s ‘Piece Of My Heart’ with UK teenager Courtney Hadwin, who was a finalist on the show. Ambient Production Duo AG. Release Video for ‘All Falls Down’

ag.

‘ALL FALLS DOWN’ VIDEO RELEASED

SERVIA
DEBUT EP ANNOUNCED | OUT SEPT 28TH VIA ONT’ SOFA RECORDS

Leeds-based ambient production duo ag. have announced the release of their debut EP Servia, out on September 28th via Ont’ Sofa Records. To mark the announcement the pair have released the video for their latest single ‘All Falls Down’.

Featuring soulful vocals and lush production, ‘All Falls Down’ flows between minimalist passages and atmospheric crescendos, creating a blissfully ethereal and emotive track. The video premiered with Clash, who said, “’All Falls Down’ is expertly done, achieving that innate balance needed for something truly striking.”

Regarding the video ag. say, “Our music video transpires the strain of wanting to make something work but your other half keeps running away from acknowledging the problems. We just wanted to put across the emotion, which our lyrics portray. We worked with a great Director called Tom Pallant, an old friend from the north who headed to London to pursue film. He did a great job and we’re already planning our next videos with him.”

‘All Falls Down’ follows the release of ag.’s debut single ‘Warped Minds’, both taken from the forthcoming debut EP Servia. Elsewhere on the forthcoming EP is the soulful opener ‘I Know’, twisted dream-laden production in ‘Close Of Day’, a stirring concoction of emotive songwriting and dark future bass on ‘Spell’, while ‘Tidal’ closes with a deep driving progressive 4/4 beat.

The Servia EP is an eclectic display of the intelligent and expansive sound of ag., which is reminiscent of the likes of Bonobo, Four Tet and Burial.

Regarding the EP ag. say, “The Servia EP is our first record which we haven’t tried to direct towards any specific genre, we sat down together as solo artists and decided to move away from the music we were making before. We were producing music to please others and not necessarily creating anything that represented us fully. We jammed in a small student room on Servia Road in Leeds and within a few hours we decided this direction was right, something sparked and we formed ag. Our debut EP consists of different sounds and textures taking inspiration from both live and electronica.”

Norwegian Songstress ISELIN Releases New Single ‘Lost’

RELEASES NEW SINGLE
‘LOST’
SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD

Norwegian pop songstress Iselin has released her new single, ‘Lost’. A deeply personal track, it’s the follow up to her debut, ‘Bathtub’, released in June.

Heartfelt and affecting, ‘Lost’ builds through swelling, emotional verses into stripped back and honest choruses. Delicate, sweeping synths accompany Iselin’s vocals amid subtle production and infectious hooks, with haunting and poignant lyricism striking a touching chord.

“Lost is probably one of the most personal and emotional songs I’ve ever written,” says Iselin. “That terrifies me a bit to be honest, but at the same time it feels good to release something that just came straight from the heart. I wrote it with the amazing songwriters and producers Mad Fun (Fanny Hultman & Madeleine Eliasson), and it was a very special day for me in the studio. I think and hope the song speaks for itself, but mainly it’s about letting go of something that meant a lot to you, and how it affects you in so many ways when you know that part of your life is over.”

JULES WALCOTT Premieres New Single “First At The Altar” With Music Video

IMG_2092

At just 19 years old, alternative dark pop vocalist Jules Walcott is out for vengeance on her second single, “First At The Altar,” out now with a corresponding music video. An alternative and metal vocal veteran, Walcott comes from a history of being a frontwoman. Now placing her primary focus on her solo endeavors, the Long Island native is rapidly evolving into her own artistry, a sleek combination of both her original rock origins and modern dark pop. “First At The Altar” is a glistening example of what Walcott embodies as a solo entity; anger, yet grace, power, and a refreshing amount of rawness for such a young writer. Her debut single “Please Leave A Message,” released earlier this summer, was built upon a viral Instagram video of Walcott singing an Evanescence song earlier this summer. The video was a clear representation of her raw talent, which she carried over into the studio to begin creating a hazy, meticulous, almost sinister production style with engineer/producer Okan Kazdal (NEVRLANDS). Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Walcott’s rising solo career is that she went against the current, moving from band to solo instead of the opposite way around. “First At The Altar” gives listeners an eerie taste of her upcoming EP, as well as a clear picture of her artistic style. About “First At The Altar,” she states:

“First At The Altar” was lyrically one of the most exciting, yet challenging songs I have ever written. Written in my perspective about the time I was cheated on in a relationship, the writing process of this song was clearly driven on the emotion surrounding this experience. As I started writing the song, my goal was for it to be a diss at the person who cheated on me. As I kept writing, I began to discover that I wasn’t writing a diss track, I was writing about the inner conflict I constantly struggle with, where I let some else’s actions take control of my life.”

Alternative dark pop Jules Walcott is already known for her raw, silky and sincere vocals. Originally the frontwoman of a Long Island-based hard rock band, Jules decided to combine her natural rock roots and passion for pop music to create a uniquely eerie solo endeavor in the first quarter of 2018. After going viral on Instagram shortly after with her stripped back 60 second cover of an Evanescence classic, Jules began experimenting with synth pop, alternative, and electro influences on her debut single “Please Leave A Message,” recorded and produced by Okan Kazdal (NEVRLANDS). The release proved to solidify Walcott as an uprising pop contender, garnering over 40,000 views on YouTube alone and sparking new inspiration to expand on her mysterious, siren-esque artistry. Just 19 years old, she released her second solo single, “First At The Altar” to digital platforms on 9/14/18, which fuses together her rock origins and her now-familiar  grim synth sounds. “First At The Altar” is available on YouTube and all digital streaming platforms NOW.

‘NEWS’
VIDEO RELEASED
WATCH HERE

Highly acclaimed Swedish pop duo I Am Karate have released the video for their new single ‘News’. The video premiered with CelebMix who said, “I Am Karate are a fast rising pop duo from Sweden who are ready to takeover the world with their anthemic sound and slick productions. Their latest release ‘News’ is a massive pop anthem mixed with shimmering production, a bouncy tropical rhythm and a gigantic earworm of a chorus.”

The video features the pair’s lyrics, addressing a state of mind of their generation, scrawled in multicolour across pavements, buildings and more.

Regarding the single I Am Karate say, “This song is about a character who will do whatever it takes to shine in the spotlight on/at whatever (Instagram, work, etc.) She just wants people’s attention and it turns into a twisted self-destructive chase for her. We wanted to poke on that state of mind of our generation that has gotten so normalized by the emergence of social media and question what the hell we’re doing.”

The Stockholm duo (Erika Soldh Ahlström and Marta Petterson) have released a slew of singles which have seen them achieve huge praise from the likes of The Times, The Guardian and many more.

‘News’ is out now through the pair’s own label I Am Karate Music, and their hits have seen them win the Best Unsigned Award at the highly revered GAFFA Awards in their home country.

“Dark, shiny electropop from the Swedish duo — think Robyn produced by James Blake.”
The Times

“I Am Karate martial their artistry with aplomb. They will chop your head off, in the
nicest possible way, with their marvellously maudlin and mordantly mellow
mid-tempo melodies.”

REVEAL NEW TRACK
‘WHERE I’M HEADED’

NEW ALBUM
CAROLINA CONFESSIONS
OUT OCTOBER 5th VIA SNAKEFARM RECORDS
PREORDER THE ALBUM HERE

HEADLINE UK TOUR DATES IN OCTOBER

The fast-rising Marcus King Band have revealed a new track, ‘Where I’m Headed’, taken from their upcoming / third studio album Carolina Confessions, out October 5th via Snakefarm Records on CD, vinyl & DL.

‘Where I’m Headed’ is the latest song to be showcased from the album, following on from ‘Homesick’ & ‘Welcome ’Round Here’. Blending emotive brass with soulful gospel backing vocals, the track is a driving and uplifting journey from laidback acoustic tones through to howling solos, spotlighting Marcus’ virtuosic guitar playing and impassioned vocal talents.

“I wrote it about a very special lady,” he says of the track. “It’s to do with always being on the road and not really knowing where you’re going next. A lot of times people ask where we’re going and I don’t really remember without looking at the tour book. So I’m saying to her that I don’t know where I’m headed, but I know you’ll be there.”

Produced & mixed by Grammy award-winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton / Sturgill Simpson) at Nashville’s iconic RCA Studio A, Carolina Confessions sees 22-year-old Marcus and his band taking a major leap forwards in terms of song-writing, production, musical dexterity and emotional weight. The featured tracks, including lead UK single ‘Welcome ’Round Here’, a potent mix of blues-soaked guitars and intoxicating crescendos, find the group’s trademark sound buoyed by a new narrative depth, as Marcus delves into heavy themes: absolution, guilt, leaving home, yearning, love and other affairs of the soul.

The album features 10 brand new songs, all penned by Marcus except for ‘How Long’, a co-write with The Black KeysDan Auerbach and veteran songwriter Pat McLaughlin. Throughout the record, Marcus – born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina – exhibits an almost Southern gothic sensibility in his songs, owning up to failed relationships, portraying the complex connection with his hometown, and generally displaying an expansive musical firmament in the process.

A Blue Ridge Mountain boy, Marcus has been writing songs and performing onstage for half of his lifetime, and fronting his own groups for nearly a decade. Since he was a teenager, he’s been trading licks with famous fans and mentors Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks – indeed, so blown away was Haynes by the then-19-year-old that he signed him to his Evil Teen label, releasing the band’s debut album, ‘Soul Insight’, in 2015 and producing the self-titled follow-up a year later.

Simply, Marcus and his five band-mates – drummer Jack Ryan, bass player Stephen Campbell, trumpeter / trombonist Justin Johnson, sax player Dean Mitchell and keyboard player DeShawn ‘D-Vibes’ Alexander – are on a mission to create a fresh musical experience effortlessly combining rock, blues and soul into a dynamic and atmospheric sound.

FØNX | Reveals Video For New Single ‘Come On Over’

zzszx_4w

Ya’ll! I’m so excited to introduce you to a song I just know you’ll be adding to your playlists! I know I have! What a talented artist with an incredible voice.

Following a feature on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and playlisting in Zara stores globally; FØNX has revealed his self-directed DIY video for new single, ‘Come On Over,’ his latest offering of infectious, guitar driven soul-infused pop.

Filmed in his bedroom in the early hours of the morning with nothing but a camera and one mood light; FØNX captures the raw and intimate essence of his personal story of heart break.

As the track grows and synths start getting denser we see the video grow in energy with beautiful colors merging, creating overlays in each shot and FØNX becoming more uneasy with the situation.

‘Come on Over’ is the latest track FØNX has produced with Hugh Worskett (Rae Morris, Will Joseph Cook, Birdy).

A mix of jazzy guitar, smooth beats and growing electronic synths create the songs dreamy soundscape while FØNX’s tender vocals croon over a story of loss in love.
