Mail Call | GENIUS: ARETHA

Hello there, peeps!!

I hope you’ve all been well! This has certainly been a rough year for everyone, and According to Kristin was no exception. I took a bit of time to take care of my mental health through all of the craziness, but I’m happy to announce that 2021 will be the comeback!

While I was working from home yesterday, I heard a knock on the door and was surprised to find this at my doorstep! In anticipation of the upcoming 4-night event of GENIUS: ARETHA, I received an incredible Victrola record player, a vinyl record and a treble clef flash drive. Both will definitely be used often!

Make sure to check out the 4-night event starting Cynthia Erivo on National Geographic, March 21.

Tour Review | BACKSTREET BOYS: DNA WORLD TOUR 2019 | Sunrise, FL – 8/23/19

img_0967

Hello there, music lovers!

I’m a bit late in getting this review posted, but we had a week of preparing for Hurricane Dorian, who decided at the last minute to avoid Miami completely. (Side Note: My thoughts are with everyone in the Bahamas, or those with family in the Bahamas.)

d8faa574-a234-4149-bfb7-3f883e943c8fNow shhhhhhh . . . don’t tell anyone that I willingly went to the Backstreet Boys concert here in Sunrise, Florida! As an *NSYNC lover, I felt like a traitor the entire time, but I hate to admit . . . it was a great show!

The besties wanted to wear matching shirts with BSB lyrics on them, but I opted for a general boy band shirt instead haha. Mine said, “All I want is a 90s boy band kinda love.” I had to maintain some sort of loyalty! I was flanked by my two die-hard BSB-loving best friends and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. In all seriousness, I’ve always enjoyed BSB’s music. Especially now because it brings you back to a time when our only responsibility was turning in homework on time. The nostalgia is real and the music is still classic.

Brian’s son, Baylee Littrell opened for the guys and you could tell he was a natural. His music is a sort of cross between country and rock, but it still had a young vibe to it. He really knew how to keep the crowd engaged, which is difficult to do sometimes as an opening act. I’m sure people will be hearing more from him in the future!

The guys came out at about 9 pm and played non-stop for about 2 hours. Believe it or not, they managed to squeeze 33 songs onto the set list! Granted, some songs were little snippets and solo distractions while the rest of the guys handled their quick changes lol, but everything worked really well. It was non-stop energy the entire time. I was a bit surprised at the lack of pyro on stage, but the set up was low key and allowed the guys to shine and connect with the people who have supported them for so long. It was actually really nice. There’s also a HUGE HD screen above the stage, giving fans a great view no matter where their seats were.

At one point, the guys came out and sang an a cappella version of “Breathe” off of their latest DNA album. When I tell you, these guys sounded incredible! They definitely still got it! The vocals and dancing throughout the entire show were really impressive.

Here’s a look at the set list for our show:

I’m so glad I was able to make it out to this show with the girls. You all know how much I love a great concert, and this was no exception. BSB still knows how to put on a great show! I hope, if you’re reading this, you realize the sarcasm about me feeling like a traitor haha. It’s okay to like BOTH bands, people! Now if we could only get the guys to talk to their friends over in *NSYNC about putting together a joint tour, all would be right in the world. Can you imagine???? A BSB/NSYNC (with ALL members) tour??? They’d have to play two shows in every city!

If you’re still thinking about buying yourself a ticket to the DNA World Tour, please exit out of this page and do it!! You won’t regret it! Your wallet might, but you won’t!

Tour Review | JONAS BROTHERS: HAPPINESS BEGINS TOUR 2019 | American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL – 8/7/19

img_0604

First things first . . . HOLY SHIT the Jonas Brothers still know how to put on an incredible show. The whole thing was high energy from the moment they took the stage!!

I just want to give a little backstory to my attending this show. 10 years ago, I took my niece to her first concert here in South Florida. She was 5 and she was decked out in a Jonas Brothers t-shirt, Jonas Brothers press-on nails and Jonas Brothers sandals. You guessed correctly, her first concert ever (at 5 because I’m the coolest aunt ever) was the Jonas Brothers. When the guys announced that they were getting back together, I knew I was going to have to sell a kidney to get tickets for the niece to see them again, almost exactly 10 years later! & that’s what I did (minus the selling of my kidney on the black market lol).

I also want to state that the marketing team for the Jonas Brothers deserve a raise! Their cryptic posts leading up to the show had fans going nuts trying to figure out the set list and what surprises would be coming next. The intrigue for all things Jonas has been heavy for months now and that is extremely good for the brand. 😉

The show started at about 7:45 with Jordan McGraw, who played a pretty short set. Bebe Rexha came out next and played her hits, which got the crowd pumped up even more for the guys.

While the crew was setting up the main stage, the crowd started SCREAMING and everyone was turned towards the back of the arena. The Jonas fam all walked in and grabbed seats in the VIP Section, but you would’ve thought the guys had walked out! It was really nice to see a packed arena mostly comprised of young girls all cheering for the guy’s wives, daughters, family and friends rather than hating on them for changing their relationship status haha. Kevin’s daughters must’ve thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Anyway, the guys came on at about 9:30pm and it was absolutely insane. They had the perfect mix of old hits sprinkled with new songs off of their Happiness Begins album. There was a mini stage set up in the back of the arena, in the VIP section, so every seat in the arena was a good one. Whether you were in the back sections or the front, you got a chance to see the guys just a little bit closer than you would with just a regular end-stage setup. The music was loud, the vocals were on-point and the whole production was very well thought out and put together. You can tell that a lot of preparation went into this tour and everything was executed perfectly. My only wish is that is was being filmed! Who knows, with all the surprises they’ve had for everyone lately, maybe it was. The show ended at about 11:20pm.

At one point towards the end of the show, the guys brought out Sebastian Yatra, Natti Natasha and surprised everyone by bringing out Daddy Yankee for a special performance of “Runaway”. Between special guests, confetti canons, pyro, fireworks and those silly inflatable dancing creatures, the show was just a party from start to finish. Even outside of the arena was decorated with balloons and made it feel like a party despite the heat and humidity haha. There were also little photo op areas throughout the hallways of the arena.

I also want to point out that I’ve been to A LOT of concerts, and this one might be at the top as far as high-energy is concerned. I mean that sincerely. The crowd was jumping and screaming and singing the words back to the guys the entire time and all I kept thinking about was their documentary, where Kevin asked if anyone would care that they were getting the band back together. After seeing the first show of the Happiness Begins Tour last night here in Miami, I hope that question has been answered for him and erased any doubts they might’ve had.  It’s obvious that the fans are here to stay!

I HIGHLY recommend checking this show out if you get the chance. The tickets are a big pricey, but they’re honestly worth it. A huge congratulations goes out to the guys on the success of their first show back and well wishes for the rest of the tour!

Emotive Singer ARCHIE FAULKS Releases Beautiful New Song ‘Willing To Learn’

‘WILLING TO LEARN’
NEW SONG RELEASED
LISTEN HERE

HEADLINE TOUR ANNOUNCED
SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2019

Archie Faulks has released his beautiful new song ‘Willing To Learn’. Intertwined with stunning strings and stark keys among Archie’s alluring vocals, the new track is about being led astray and living in the now.

Regarding the song Archie says, “‘Willing To Learn’ is a song about sleeping with someone you know is trouble and there is something about them being trouble that keeps drawing you back in. They are more experienced than you are, in many ways, and you want to learn from them; namely how to relinquish worry of the future and just occupy the present moment. It’s a song that when I play it live evokes very vivid memories and emotions – I see it as a bit of a coming of age anthem. Thinking that you are getting to grips with what you are and what you like then meeting someone who changes all of that – an ode to the endless possibilities in life.”

‘Willing To Learn’ follows a string of singles released since Archie emerged last year including ‘Wonderful’, ‘Hung Up’, ‘Blackout’ and ‘It Rains’. The singles have proved radio hits with support coming from Radio 1 and Radio X and they have also clocked up over 2 million streams across Apple Music and Spotify.

Archie has been making a strong statement on the live scene this year, completing his first ever headline tour, while also going down a storm at festivals including The Great Escape and Live At Leeds. He has also been touring the UK and Europe with the likes of Isaac Gracie, Rue Royal, Luke Sital-Singh and Delilah Montagu.

Archie is hitting the round again this autumn for a short headline tour where he will play shows in Brighton, Leeds and Cardiff. Tickets are on sale now via Music Glue and full dates can be found below:

Pep Talks has already received high acclaim in the US from the likes of Flood Magazine, Rolling Stone, DuJour, NPR and more and has already clocked up streams in their millions, globally across Spotify alone.

Pulling together the twang of folk, the beat of hip-hop, the drive of rock & roll and the punch of pop this album is a brilliantly eclectic, musical journey shaped around vocalist Judah Akers’ experience of life when, during the time the band were sharing stages with heroes, touring the world and hitting new chart highs, behind the scenes his family was falling apart in a hail of alcoholism and affairs, death and divorce.

There’s mandolins and banjos mixed with modern electronics and personal lyrics and it features hit tracks including the Top 10 US Alternative Radio chart hit ‘Over My Head’, the critically-acclaimed single ‘Pictures’, featuring country star Kacey Musgraves as well as fan-favourites ‘Why Did You Run?’, ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’ and ’Alright (Frick It)’.

First rising to prominence with their US Alternative Radio No.1 hit ‘Take It All Back’ from their second album Folk Hop N Roll in 2016, Judah & The Lion have taken the US and beyond  by storm and have appeared on Good Morning America, CONAN, Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Late Show with James Corden, as well as played various festivals and toured across the globe with the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, and more.

With a non-stop schedule, they are set to return to the UK as part of their headline Pep Talks World tour this summer, where they will be playing in Glasgow, Ireland and London before performing at Latitude Festival.

AUTUMN UK HEADLINE TOUR
OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2019

Larkins have released the dreamy new song ‘Wallflower’ as the B-side to their latest single ‘Sugar Sweet’ out now via Good Soldier Records.

‘Wallflower’ plays as if George Fitzgerald laid down production touches for Foals, with airy electronics and hazy samples paired with indie guitars and alluring hushed vocals.

Regarding the song frontman Josh Noble says, “I had the beginnings of ‘Wallflower’ sat on my laptop for what seems like forever. It has a Tame Impala meets Bon Iver vibe which I love. After working with Dom on some cool guitar additions, and a friend/musician we know called Sam Manville (FTSE) on the structure, it finally came together. Then as always it was just a case of sitting with the beast Chris Zane and nailing the sounds. I loved our time in the studio making this one.”

‘Wallflower’ is the B-side to Larkins’ latest single ‘Sugar Sweet’, a bright love song featuring exquisite harmonies, soaring synths and a massive inescapable chorus. It was released earlier this month, premiering as Zane Lowe’s ‘World First’ on Beats 1. It’s since gone on to gain great support from the likes of BBC Introducing and The Independent, while also clocking up over half a million streams.

‘Sugar Sweet’ follows the release of Larkins’ debut single ‘TV Dream’ on Good Solider Records earlier this year. The song received an immense response from both fans and media, quickly clocking up over a million streams. ‘TV Dream’ proved a radio hit and featured on the playlists of Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Radio X, while the band again received significant support from Zane Lowe on Beats 1.

The release led the band to sell out a landmark hometown show to 2000 rapturous fans at Manchester’s Albert Hall. Capturing the moment perfectly, Larkins release the live album Larkins: Live At The Albert Hall, Manchester. It is available to stream now and can be purchased physically from July 5th on CD, cassette and vinyl.

As an undeniable proven live force, Larkins have sold out headline shows across the UK and Europe. They played their first US shows this year at SXSW Festival, while this month they played their largest London show yet to an ecstatic sold out crowd at Dingwalls.

This autumn the band will embark on an extensive 16-date UK headline tour, running throughout October and November. Tickets for all shows are available now via larkinsband.com

This year has seen Larkins make a huge statement as one of the most exciting and in-demand bands to emerge from Manchester in recent times. The band are currently recording their debut album with producers Dan Nigro (A-Trak, Sky Ferreira, Lewis Capaldi) and Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, Fun, Kid Cudi) – a record which is sure to send Larkins even further into the stratosphere.

THE POP SENSATION RETURNS AFTER 2 BILLION STREAMS WITH THE NEW SINGLE
‘HATE HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU’

WATCH THE NEW VIDEO HERE

UK & EUROPEAN HEADLINE TOUR IN OCTOBER
INCLUDING LONDON SHOW AT
O2 SHEPHERD’S BUSH EMPIRE

With five Top 10 singles and a #1 album to his credit plus millions of followers at social media, Conor Maynard is one of British music’s biggest success stories. The stats speak for themselves: over 10 million monthly listeners at streaming services and over 2 billion career streams to date.

A multi-faceted musician, director and personality, he scored 225 million streams as featured vocalist on last summer’s smash ‘Whenever’ with Kris Kross Amsterdam and The Boy Next Door. He followed that by teaming up with Hardwell and Snoop Dogg for ‘How You Love Me’ and then Alok on ‘Pray’.  He even took his talents to Broadway, to star as Charlie Price in the Tony Award-winning musical ‘Kinky Boots’ – following in the footsteps of Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie and Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters.

Now Conor Maynard returns with the release of his brand new single ‘Hate How Much I Love You’, which represents his first original new release as a lead solo artist in four years. ‘Hate How Much I Love You’ sets Conor’s smooth vocal tone to a backdrop of laidback, sun-kissed modern pop that’s perfectly primed for the summer. The song was produced by Noah Conrad (BTS) and written by Conor with Andrew Bullimore (Chainsmokers, Galantis) and Josh Record (Dua Lipa, Anne Marie).

“It’s been around five years since I released my last solo original material, and it feels like I’ve been through just about everything to finally get this music out so people can hear it,” says Conor. “I was 19 when I released my first album, and even though I’ll always be proud of that music, this new material feels like it really comes from me. I have written every song you will hear with all of my close friends. So, with that being said, I hope you enjoy.”

Conor directed the track’s light-hearted accompanying video. He stars as an unlucky-in-love hotel bellboy, whose daily work puts him at the mercy of rude guests, elderly admirers and annoying children. He soon falls under the spell of a mysterious woman – but can he win her over?

Conor Maynard first came to prominence when his debut album ‘Contrast’ went straight to #1. It featured numerous hit singles including ‘Can’t Say No’ and ‘Vegas Girl’. He followed that with ‘Covers’, a collection of his takes on modern classics from the likes of Drake, Zayn and Shawn Mendes. Throughout his career, Conor has worked with a host of leading talent including Pharrell Williams, Wiley, Rita Ora and Ne-Yo. He completed an arena tour as guest to The Vamps and has played numerous high profile events including Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball and the Wireless Festival.

Currently working on new material, Conor recently announced details of his first UK and European headline tour since 2012, which includes a London show at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The dates are:

OCTOBER
5th – Sweden, Stockholm, Klubben
6th – Norway, Oslo, Vulkan
7th – Denmark, Copenhagen, Lille Vega
9th – Germany, Berlin, Columbia Theater
10th – Germany, Munich, Technikum

VIANA Releases Music Video For Debut Single “Wine & Roses”

img_9729

New dark pop artist Viana has released a music video for her debut single, “Wine & Roses,” out NOW. Most known as lead vocalist of the recently disbanded funky pop rock band Royal Street, Viana transforms into her own on “Wine & Roses”; it’s fierce, unconventional, and pristine. The music video is a sophisticated, yet sensual, visual – a perfect companion for the sleek track. Although simple, the video’s aesthetic and color palette perfectly align with Viana’s vision on “Wine & Roses”; she has a beautifully developed and seasoned sense of self. A self-described ‘dark alternative-pop’ artist, Viana fashions an eerie, yet riveting sound on “Wine & Roses”. About the track, she states:

Wine & Roses is a song about losing yourself in what used to be. We get hung up on our past, and often times we let it put a negative hold on our future. As we live more and more, we learn more and more, and it shapes us into the person we are meant to be. Even the adverse times in our lives make us who we are in the long run. The song ends with saying “Keep the magic close, if it’s all you know. The wine will always flow.” Meaning keep your passions close to your heart and keep moving, and you’ll get where you need to be. All of the lessons you learn along the way will bring you there. The chorus proclaims, “ I’m stuck with visions of you” meaning that what happened in our past becomes a part of us…we don’t ever forget, but we can move onto better times while carrying the lessons we’ve learned.

Viana has been singing ever since she can remember. She was born in the summer of 1993. Raised on church gospel, classic rock and a touch of jazz , Viana’s vocals have morphed through the years into a sound uniquely hers. A decade of fronting pop-punk bands, starring in local musical productions and dabbling in some moderate witchcraft have been integral in the formation of the ethereal melody-machine that is Viana.

Viana’s sound can best be described as dark alternative-pop. Enchanting beats, flawless vocal runs and syrupy sweet lyrics are enough to wake the dead and get even the saddest bones moving. Her influences include other unique and strong female singer-songwriters such as Maggie Rogers, FKA Twigs, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers and of course, our lord and savior, Beyoncé. With a style influenced by a combination of being a sucker for a catchy melody, yet still bringing a natural edge brought on by years of fronting rock bands, paired with her giant doe-eyes and freckles, Viana’s presence is one to pay attention to. Her gifts were shared while touring with past bands Sienna and Royal Street, playing to small groups in basements, and to crowds of 2,000+ enthusiastic and captivated show-goers.

Viana’s mission through music is to connect with all people and remember that self expression should be about going with your gut and listening to your own instincts. Growing up in a female fronted band always striving to be the next big thing brings an unnecessary pressure. These days, she creates what she wants and what feels most comfortable for her, and wants to help her listeners do the same. After ten years of collaborative work, Viana’s fierce independence has led to the shedding of her past skin and the incubation of this unapologetically Viana project: new, strange, and no-fucks-given. “Wine & Roses” is available on all digital music platforms NOW.

About Paulina Rubio

There are few stars in the Latin pop scene that have shined as brightly, and for as long, as Paulina Rubio. The Mexican singer, actress, model and entrepreneur has been putting out hits that have taken the world by storm. After a stint with the group Timbiriche, one of the most long-lasting pop phenomena in Mexico, Paulina embarked on her solo career in 1992 releasing “La Chica Dorada.” The title of her debut album became her professional nickname, The Golden Girl, and opened the doors to the US market.

From then on, her popularity grew both in the US and in Latin America, and rocketed when she signed with Universal Music, cementing her international status in the new millennium. “Paulina” (2000) and particularly “Border Girl” (2002) created an extraordinary crossover effect that rippled throughout the whole of the planet. As a global pop icon, Rubio was the top-selling Latin artist during the early stages of the new century, thanks to songs like “Y Yo Sigo Aquí”, “Yo No Soy Esa Mujer” and “The One You Love.” In 2004, “Pau-Latina” saw Paulina return to Spanish and spawning a set of sold hits, “Te Quise Tanto,” “Algo Tienes” and “Dame Otro Tequila,” which ruled the Latin Billboard charts and consolidated her success.

Paulina continued to climb up the ladder of creativity with the release of “Ananda” in 2006. Fueled by hit singles including “Ni Una Sola Palabra,” the album topped the US Latin Pop Chart and was certified 2x Platinum in Spain. “Ananda” picked up Album of the Year at the Latin Billboard Awards and the Spanish edition of GQ Magazine named Rubio as Woman of the Year in 2007.

Increasingly involved in the songwriting and production of her albums, in 2009 the queen of Latin pop returned with “Gran City Pop,” an album that featured trademark hits “Causa y Efecto” and “Ni Rosas Ni Juguetes” and ruled the airwaves in Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico, taking up residence at the top of the US Latin charts in mid-2009.

On “Brava!” (2011), Rubio skillfully combined songs in English and in Spanish, contributing to Rubio’s amazing portfolio of hits with tracks “Me Gustas Tanto” and the spectacular dance beats of “Heat of the Night” and “All Around the World”.

Over the years, Paulina has continued to release hit records, including songs “Mi Nuevo Vicio” in 2015, a collaboration with Colombian artist Morat, an absolute hit in Spain that was certified 2x Platinum and topped the Promusicae chart, and “Si Te Vas” in 2016. The latter rose to the top of the Latin Billboard Charts, adding to Paulina’s impressive collection of hits.

Over the course of 2019, Paulina released the deluxe version of her long-awaited latest studio album “Deseo,” the first to feature new songs since “Brava!” First single “Desire (Me Tienes Loquita),” featuring her old friend Nacho, was an incredibly appealing and totally contemporary song, with a catchy chorus and solid urban vibes, marking the awaited return of the diva of Latin pop. “Suave y Sutil” followed as a second single, leading up to the release of new single “Ya No Me Engañas.”

Most known as lead vocalist of the recently disbanded funky pop rock band Royal Street, Viana transforms into her own on “Wine & Roses”; it’s fierce, unconventional, and pristine. A lead in to an array of new music in 2019, “Wine & Roses” will follow with a music video later this month. Although just her first solo release as Viana, she has a clear-cut identity.

JONAS BROTHERS | New Album HAPPINESS BEGINS Is Here & It’s Amazing!

img_9479

Ok, Jonas Brothers!! I see you!

Today marks the release of their new album, Happiness Begins, after 10 years! It’s been an extremely long 10 years for Jonas Brothers fans . . . believe me, as an *NSYNC fan, I know how uneasy it feels when your favorite band splits up. Especially when they’re brothers! Luckily, the guys worked through their issues and got together for one hell of an album!

When it was announced that the guys would be getting the band back together again, fans were hit with an onslaught of all things Jonas – a new single, a new album, a new tour, a documentary, a book, and who knows what’s next! There’s been no shortage of content, that’s for sure.

The documentary, Chasing Happiness, is available on Amazon Prime Video and gives an in-depth look at the guys growing up in the Jonas household, beginning their careers at a young age, navigating their way through life and work and family. Somewhere along the way, the guys seemed to lose the fun aspect of making music and performing, which eventually led to their split. They allow fans to get a glimpse into what happened and how they decided to work through things together as brothers. I highly recommend watching it.

img_9478

With the release of the new album, we get to see a whole new Jonas Brothers. You can almost hear the fun in every song. It’s a more adult vibe than the old school albums, for sure. It’s funky, it’s mature, it’s a MOOD.  There’s literally something for everyone on this album, and a huge congrats goes out to the guys for coming back together while still holding onto their own individual styles in the process.

Personally, Jonas Brothers hold a special place in my heart. They were the first concert I ever took my niece to in 2009. She was 5 years old and it was amazing. My friend’s kids had fallen asleep towards the end of the show, so she took them out to the car, but my niece refused to leave until the show was over. It made me so proud! Since then, she’s been my concert buddy and now she’s 15 dragging me to shows I normally wouldn’t go to. They set the bar for live shows for her 10 years ago and now we’ll be seeing them EXACTLY 10 years later at their show here in Miami this August. My only wish is that I could afford VIP tickets for her to meet them lol.

Either way, make sure to grab the album, score tix to their upcoming Happiness Begins Tour (which is a bit pricey, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it), watch the documentary and keep your eyes open for their upcoming book! The guys are on a roll and it doesn’t look like there’s an end in sight. (Side Note: Someone please get them to convince *NSYNC to make a similar comeback! They’re living proof that maturing their sound and putting out music they want to make can work despite being a huge success to younger crowds back in the day!)

MORE INFORMATION
X Ambassadors’ debut platinum selling album VHS saw the band transition from Ithaca alt-rockers and Brooklyn indie scene outsiders, to chart breaking stalwarts. The album was an intimate insight into Sam Harris and his brother Casey Harris’ youth studded with audio snippets from home movies, and early recording sessions and sound checks. With it, came the genre-defining hits ‘Unsteady’ and ‘Renegades’, a three-year global touring odyssey and a string of high-profile festival performances.

Harris’ songwriting became increasingly personal resulting in the shattering, shimmering 2018 singles ‘JOYFUL’ and ‘Don’t Stay’ followed by a North American headline tour and sold out UK shows. Always looking to give back to the community that raised them X Ambassadors returned to Ithaca for the second annual Cayuga Sound Festival this past September creating and curating two days of musical performances and raising money for local charities.

In 2019 X Ambassadors released ‘BOOM’, a quick-fire anthem for emphatic recovery and personal revolutions. The artwork is written in Braille and designed in a yellow-on-black colorway. For Casey Harris, the band’s keyboardist and Sam Harris’ brother, who was born blind, it is the first physical manifestation of his work that he has been able to experience visually. He has just 10% of his vision.

X Ambassadors have also collaborated with a number of top names in music and film including Eminem, Tom Morello, Imagine Dragons, Wiz Khalifa, Suicide Squad, Netflix Original Bright and more recently they co-wrote and produced three songs on Lizzo’s debut album including the title track ‘Cuz I Love You’ and lead singer/songwriter Sam Harris has written and produced eight songs on the For The Throne – Music Inspired By The HBO Series Game Of Thrones soundtrack.

The_Secret_Life_of_Pets_2[1]

This Friday, the world’s biggest animated pet franchise is back with the release of “The Secret Life of Pets 2” and to celebrate, Universal Pictures and Illumination have partnered with international superstar, Ozuna to create a special remix of LunchMoney Lewis’ “It’s Gonna Be a Lovely Day” from the movie’s motion picture soundtrack. This song was released this morning via this fun lyric video which features videos of pets (and humans) from around the world doing their favorite Zumba moves.

Just like pets, Ozuna’s music makes people around the world smile! He took the song, “It’s Gonna be a Lovely Day” by LunchMoney Lewis, and brought his own unique  flavors to the remix.

Terrier Max (Patton Oswalt) is coping with some major life changes. His owner (Ellie Kemper) is now married and has a toddler, Liam. Max is so worried about protecting the boy that he develops a nervous tic. On a family trip to a farm, Max and mutt Duke (Eric Stonestreet) encounter canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey, all of which only elevates Max’s anxiety. Luckily, Max gets some guidance from veteran farm dog Rooster (Harrison Ford, making his animated-film debut), who pushes Max to ditch his neuroses, find his inner alpha, and give Liam a little more freedom.

Meanwhile, while her owner is away, plucky Pomeranian Gidget (Jenny Slate) tries to rescue Max’s favorite toy from a cat-packed apartment with a little help from her feline friend, Chloe (Lake Bell), who has discovered the joys of catnip.

And crazy-but-cute bunny Snowball (Kevin Hart) gets delusions of grandeur that he’s an actual superhero after his owner Molly starts dressing him in superhero pajamas. But when Daisy (Tiffany Haddish), a fearless Shih Tzu, shows up to ask for Snowball’s help on a dangerous mission, he’ll have to summon the courage to become the hero he’s only been pretending to be.

Can Max, Snowball, Gidget and the rest of the gang find the inner courage to face their biggest fears?

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy, the visionary team behind Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch and the Despicable Me and Minionsfranchise, and is written by returning Pets screenwriter Brian Lynch. Check Out NYC Rock Band SILVER RELICS – Debut Album Out Now!

untitled1New York City-based rock band SILVER RELICS is Alex Sepassi and Justin Alvis.

Beginning at age 10, Sepassi actively honed a raw talent as a vocalist, performer, and by his late teens, a prolific songwriter. Raised on the iconic British songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s, Sepassi later discovered the Technicolor experiments of the psychedelics and brooding ’80s indie rock. He deftly incorporates the best of these influences while adhering to a classical “songs first” philosophy, writing taut, arresting demos on acoustic guitar and piano before sending a song on its trajectory. “I don’t know if I know what makes these songs, I think it’s different and new every time,” Sepassi explains. “The lyrics just point directly towards where I am in my life at that exact moment.”

Drummer Justin Alvis began his career as a member of various Drum and Bugle Corps that toured extensively across North America and Europe. His experience as a rudimental snare drummer molded him into a rhythmic databank. It’s not surprise that his skill set is the foundation of SILVER RELICS. His power and precision are easily recognizable each time he’s behind a kit.

“Justin is incredibly talented, with a work ethic and consistency that makes him one of a kind.”

Sepassi was introduced to New York producer Howie Beno at his 2016 South by Southwest showcase in Austin, TX. The two connected instantly, discussing a mutual admiration in each others’ past work and forging plans to record in the immediate future, SILVER RELICS and Beno began recording Sepassi’s material shortly thereafter.

“Howie’s the director, mentor, facilitator, the boss and our dear friend. He’s just as much a member of this group as we are and we know just how fortunate we are to say it.”

After deciding to relocate to New York in the Spring of 2017, Sepassi and Alvis were determined to record a collection of songs prior to their departure.

“What makes these songs different for me is how we were able to capture a snapshot of all the things that surround a life changing move in a very short period of time . . . the excitement, the uncertainty, the risk, the anticipation, the massive fucking anxiety just to name a handful,” Sepassi says. “I think these are experiences that a lot of people go through often and you certainly don’t have to move across the country to identify with this concept. It’s very human.”

SILVER RELICS continue to resonate with their listeners and to extend their reach since they began performing on New York stages in late 2017. Their live performance and style has often been compared to their artistic influences: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Duran Duran, Joy Division, The Verve, Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, The Doors, Pink Floyd and The Beatles.

The band released their debut album, Generic, on May 17, 2019. You can take a listen by visiting Spotify HERE.

Pop Rock Band HAAS Announces Upcoming Debut EP “Love & Loss,” Out 5/17

img_9040

Virginia-based pop/rock project HAAS have announced the upcoming release of their debut EP, “Love & Loss,” out on all digital music platforms 5/17/19. Having released two introduction singles earlier this year, “Behind Those Eyes” and “Mama Always Told Me,” HAAS has been spending time crafting and perfecting their energetic pop/rock fusion. Approaching the genre with confidence, lead vocalist Sam Haas injects the music with heart ache, power, and an authenticity that can’t be mimicked. Although new, HAAS knows their sound (think of a Kelly Clarkson/The Veronicas/Ashlee Simpson modern combo), and takes it on with emotion. The 5-track EP will also be promoted with an EP release show at Jammin’ Java (Vienna, VA) on June 10th.

HAAS is a pop/rock band from Virginia. The name HAAS stems from lead vocalist Sam Haas, who decided to pay tribute to not only her family name but her late grandfather who inspired her through his music. After years of playing around with names and ideas, HAAS became the official name in 2018. Through the use of catchy melodies, rhythmic guitars, and expressive lyrics, HAAS has been able to marry the pop/rock sound. The group uses music not only as an outlet for themselves, but want the music to be an outlet for others. They draw on personal hardships, such as loss, strained relationships, bullying, depression, and anxiety, but also hardships within the world today. HAAS strives to promote a place of safety and inclusivity, where it is okay to be who you are and forget about the real world for a minute. HAAS has discussed being bullied and scared of being who they are and by embracing themselves, they hope to inspire others to do the same; “love who you are and don’t be afraid to do the things you want.” Their new single “Mama Always Told Me” is available on all digital platforms NOW. “Love & Loss” will be released on 5/17/19.

THE BED YOU MADE
NEW EP OUT NOW
WATCH THE LIVE PIANO VIDEO OF ‘THE BED YOU MADE’ HERE

Hannah Grace has shared ‘Sleepwalking’, the latest and final track to be taken from her new EP, The Bed You Made, out now via Never Fade Records.

The track opens with Hannah’s vocals delicately draped over an emotive and elegiac piano, both taking turns to glide over one another in sonic bliss. The soft and passionate verses steadily build towards an eruption of emotion, a beautiful and breath-taking crescendo.

Hannah reveals, “I wrote ‘Sleepwalking’ after I had just moved to London to do music full time.  I felt completely overwhelmed and swallowed up by London and felt like the reality of it was very different to the dream world in my head.  I wrote it with my good friend Jessica Sharman and I guess the song is about wanting a dream to wake you up and become part of your reality. This song completes my EP ‘The Bed You Made’ and I am so proud of it and happy to have it out in the world.”

Throughout The Bed You Made, Hannah’s incredible vocal abilities take centre stage amid minimalist musicality, with stripped back and raw production echoing its lyrical content. The result is a moving and timeless collection of tracks – The Bed You Made, ‘Different Kind Of Love’ and ‘Almost’ – that ranges between the uplifting and gloriously cathartic.

Hannah combines stunning vocal abilities – capable of weaving seamlessly between the passionate soulfulness of jazz, the heartbreak and pain of blues and the sweet melodicism of pop – with a flair for emotive songwriting.

The EP was co-written with her friends and collaborators Martin Luke Brown, Gabrielle Aplin and Jessica Sharman, and its release follows her recent appearance on Sara Cox’s ITV show, which saw her stun viewers with performances of her single ‘With You’ and a stirring piano version of ‘Praise You’.

With support from both radio and TV building, 2019 looks set to be the year that catapults Hannah into mainstream awareness.

KIM CHURCHILL Shares New Single ‘When Everything Comes Undone’

KIM CHURCHILL

NEW SINGLE
‘WHEN EVERYTHING COMES UNDONE’

TAKEN FROM THE I AM EP
OUT NOW
LISTEN HERE

UK & EUROPEAN TOUR THIS MONTH
INCLUDING LONDON, JAZZ CAFÉ

Australian singer Kim Churchill has shared his new single, ‘When Everything Comes Undone’, taken from his I AM EP, recorded and co-produced by house and hip-hop producer Vincent Kottkamp, with additional production by Chris Collins (Gang of Youths, Middle Kids, Ruby Fields).

Written and recorded in Berlin, I AM is seven songs of uplifting, alluring and melancholic indie-pop. Kim describes the creative process and motivation behind the record, “‘I AM’ was an exciting and explosive time of creativity for me. It marked the exciting beginning of my new 4 part E.P. collection. Berlin swept me away in all its beautiful counter points-from the gritty streets covered in colourful graffiti to the deep forests and quiet, summer fields. Working with Vince in his studio was full of magic and the different styles of music we’re both into collided in a beautiful way. I couldn’t be more proud!”

I AM opens with the anthemic new single ‘When Everything Comes Undone’ and the critically praised, warm and bounding ‘After The Sun’. Sombre and heartfelt ballad ‘Look Too’ tapers down the mood momentarily, ensnaring the heartstrings with its warm and textured brooding sonics, before the slow building and eclectic ‘The Sunroom’; a dreamy and full sounding production that meticulously melds electronic and organic instrumentation, while Kim’s endearing vocals soar effortlessly above.

Fourth track ‘Fallen Rainbows’ is another upbeat number driven by its deft guitar work, samples and infectious chorus. ‘As I Need It’ picks up the dynamic again with stomping percussion. The EP closes out with the blues infused ‘All I Remember’; a track where Kim and Vince both really seem to bounce off each other’s natural influences in a playful and organic way.

A traveler as much as an artist, Kim has lived on the road for years, but it was no longer enough just to pass through; for Kim it was time to show that world in his songs. This is Kim showing the value of a new way of thinking, writing and living.

I AM is the first installment of a four-part EP series where each record taps into the people and environments of some of Kim’s favourite parts of the world. While Berlin is a city known for its buildings, culture and nightlife, it was the areas where the ‘built’ and ‘natural’ sides of Berlin collide and connect that drove the record.

The exciting and unique new project will also see Kim release an additional three EP’s over time, that were written and recorded in Canada, Australia and the UK respectively, in collaboration with local artists and producers. The juxtaposition of styles between Kim’s acoustic and organic sounds with Vince’s electronic, beats influences has created something truly unique and special.

In the coming weeks Kim will set off to tour I AM in South Africa, Germany, Netherlands, France, United Kingdom where he will play London’s Jazz Café on May 28th, before finishing in his homeland of Australia.

The UK and European dates can be found below, and tickets are available here.

GABRIELLE APLIN Releases Beautiful Video For New Single ‘Nothing Really Matters’

‘NOTHING REALLY MATTERS’
VIDEO RELEASED
WATCH HERE

PLAYING SUMMER FESTIVALS
GLASTONBURY, BOARDMASTERS, ONBLACKHEATH

Gabrielle Aplin has released the beautiful video for her new single ‘Nothing Really Matters’.

The enchanting video is an artistic representation of the varying degrees of mental state that come with self-acceptance.

Regarding the video Gabrielle says, “It was really great to work with director Joe Connor again. I wanted to make something that represented the different mind-sets and feelings involved with letting go, or opening up and taking a risk. Reflecting the anxiety, excitement, confidence, restlessness and hesitance. Joe drew inspiration from the single artwork as a starting point to create a video that felt like a series of still lifes and photographic portraiture brought to life with the dancers, dressed in padlocks and keys to symbolize unlocking and opening up.”

‘Nothing Really Matters’ features gleaming glacial production from Lostboy (Mabel, Anne-Marie, Liam Payne) and finds Gabrielle celebrating positivity and self-love.

Explaining the single Gabrielle says, “‘Nothing Really Matters’ is about the battle between the excitement of wanting to open up, and the fear of opening up. I was having one of those days where I questioned the validity and importance of everything around me, and how much time, energy and thought I gave to things that really, didn’t matter. It’s about focusing on what’s really important to you.

“I wanted to push myself vocally, challenge the way I think about structure in a song, experiment with how I say what I need to say lyrically, whilst still focusing on what it is that makes me the artist I am. This song has really pushed me and surprised me and I’m so excited to release it into the world!”

‘Nothing Really Matters’ follows the release of ‘My Mistake’ late last year, which saw Gabrielle strip back on production and bare her soul on the searingly honest and beautiful piano ballad.

The songs are taken from her forthcoming third album, due for release later this year through AWAL. The major global deal is a new partnership between AWAL and Gabrielle’s own successful label Never Fade Records.

The wonderful diversity of Gabrielle Aplin as both a pop star and songwriter are displayed in the new songs. Whether she is singing a stripped back piano ballad or a huge pop song, her lyrical content and emotive vocal delivery remain at the forefront of her music.

The singles mark an exciting new chapter for Gabrielle Aplin as she is set to release her brand new album, which features some of her most personal lyrical moments alongside a breadth of music and influences not yet heard from her before.

Fans will be able to get the first taste of her new music live at summer festivals this year. Gabrielle Aplin has been announced to perform at Glastonbury Festival on the Acoustic Stage as well as Boardmasters Festival and OnBlackheath. She has more live dates to be announced soon.

FURTHER INFORMATION ON GABRIELLE APLIN
From originally establishing herself as a teenage internet sensation, posting covers to YouTube, Gabrielle Aplin has ridden a whirlwind career of success. She topped the UK charts with her incredible cover of ‘The Power Of Love’ in 2012, and saw her 2013 debut album English Rain certified gold. That album featured the Top 10 hits ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’, ‘Home’, ‘Salvation’ and ‘Panic Cord’.

With extensive international touring, Aplin racked up a further three No.1s worldwide and released her second album Light Up The Dark in 2015 to huge acclaim worldwide. In 2016 she released the Miss You EP, which has clocked up over 60 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music.

In 2017, following a sold out tour in the US and six sold out shows in Japan, Gabrielle released the Avalon EP, which again racked up millions of streams and spawned the jubilant single ‘Waking Up Slow’. The single was featured as Radio 1’s ‘Record Of The Week’ and voted one of the best pop songs of 2017. She also headlined the BBC Music Stage at Latitude Festival in the summer.

JONAS BROTHERS Documentary ‘Chasing Happiness’ Set to Premiere on Amazon Prime June 4th | Watch the Trailer!

Everything’s been coming up Jonas lately, hasn’t it?? Since the boys men announced their reunion, they’ve released two new songs, an upcoming album, their upcoming Happiness Begins Tour and now we’ll get to watch how everything played out in their new documentary ‘Chasing Happiness,’ which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on June 4th.

I’ve been hearing about this documentary for weeks now and I’m stoked that we finally have a premiere date! The film promises never-before-seen footage of Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas, starting with their early days growing up in New Jersey in a family struggling to make ends meet. It follows them to their heights of stardom — and the events surrounding their 2013 breakup. “Chasing Happiness” also shows the brothers rebuilding their relationships as siblings and band mates, leading to their first new album since 2009.

Jonas Brothers was the first concert I ever took my niece to – about ten years ago – so there’s a little bit of sentimental value over their comeback. We’ll be at their show here in Miami to relive that magic! How about you? Will you be making it out to any of their shows? Are you as excited as we are to watch the documentary??

Check out the trailer for ‘Chasing Happiness’ below:
