Wearable Camera FRONTROW Allows Users To Live In The Now While Sharing Experiences

With wearable cameras it’s easy to get caught up on if it’s recording, where it’s pointing and how much batter life is left, but the wearable camera FrontRow makes sharing experiences easier.

The FrontRow has 2 cameras – a main 8MP f/2.2 camera and a 5MP f/2.0 reverse camera – and a 1-watt speaker.

Both cameras have a resolution of 1080p up to 2.7k at 30 frames per, but only the main camera has an image stabalizer.

FrontRow features 2 microphones which have been optimized for concerts and performs well in loud environments, but may have some distortion in high wind situations.

“We performed extensive testing in concert environments and tuned the audio accordingly,” Joe McMahon, of Ubiquiti Labs, said.

There is no support for external microphones.

The 1.96 in display with 640 x 572, 327 ppi resolution on the FrontRow help for easy navigation and viewing images and video.

FrontRow runs on an Android system and contains 32gb of storage with 2gb RAM running.

The battery life allows up to two hours of video recording or streaming, six to 16 hours in story mode (depending on settings) and an incredible 50 hours standby time.

For those who are looking for longer recording or streaming, the FrontRow has a USB type-c with quick charge that can be used while recording. This can help get a much longer recording/streaming time when using FrontRow together with a portable charger.

For those looking for a wearable for livestreaming to social media, FrontRow is able to connect to devices with FrontRow app available in the Apple Store and Google Play.

“Within the iOS FrontRow App there are options to stream to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or through a custom RTMP stream, ” McMahon said. “We do not support Instagram because they have not released an API.”

For convenient transfers, FrontRow is able to connect through Bluetooth or WiFi to download or share media.

Although FrontRow has a fixed focus lens, it also has both and Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization to get clearer photos and steadier video unlike other wearables that are almost impossible to get a steady image.

The Optical Image Stabilization varies the path to the sensor neutralizing most the shaky movement while the Electronic Image Stabilization crops the image to a smaller size to reduce the field of the shaky image.

In low light situations FrontRow performs at par with any wearable on the market.

McMahon said that FrontRow will receive regular updates that can be seen on FrontRow’s Community Forum.

“We look to our community to learn about how people are using our product and what features they would find beneficial,” MacMahon said. “We take note of these suggestions and incorporate these ideas into future updates.”

FrontRow is available in Black and Rose colors and cost $399. It can be purchased through FrontRow.com.

Disney’s Empowering #DreamBigPrincess Photography Campaign To Be Exhibited At United Nations Headquarters In New York

 

Six-week showcase hosted by UNICEF, Girl Up and Disney will feature inspiring images from female photographers created to encourage kids around the globe to dream big 

 

#DreamBigPrincess photos shared on social media generated 1 million likes and shares in just 5 days, enabling a $1 million donation from Disney to United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up program

Disney announced that its series of empowering #DreamBigPrincess photographs will be going on display as an exhibit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City through the first week of January in collaboration with Girl Up and UNICEF, the UN Children’s Fund.

The images captured by nineteen female photographers from fifteen countries showcase the inspiring stories of real-world girls and women, as part of Disney’s Dream Big, Princess initiative launched in 2016, which taps into the power of Disney Princess stories to encourage kids to follow their dreams.

“This initiative is about celebrating the positive impact of strong female role models, whether that’s Moana, Tiana or one of the amazing real-world subjects of the #DreamBigPrincess images. We’re thrilled with the response to the campaign and excited to partner with Girl Up, at the United Nations Foundation to showcase these powerful images to such an international audience,” Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media, said.

The display will feature the compelling images from the campaign’s award-winning photographers and their subjects, who have turned their dreams into reality.

From the youngest ever speaker at the UN to a gold-medal-winning Chinese Paralympian, the founder of the first female cycling team in Bamiyan, Afghanistan, a teenage author of a STEM coding book for kids, and a young surf champion from Brazil, the images spotlight a diverse range of stories to connect with kids and families around the world.As well as inspiring kids with positive images and the stories behind them, the campaign aimed to make a tangible difference for girls who face challenges in achieving their dreams, through a collaboration with Girl Up, at the United Nations Foundation.

For each like or post of a #DreamBigPrincess photo during the campaign timeframe, Disney donated $1 to Girl Up to support girls’ leadership and empowerment.
Since their release in August, the images have been liked and shared millions of times online, enabling Disney to donate $1 million to Girl Up.

“#DreamBigPrincess really caught the collective imagination and we are so grateful to everyone who liked, shared or created their own inspiring image to support the campaign,” Girl Up Director Melissa Kilby said. “The $1 million will help give thousands of girls around the globe the tools they need to achieve their goals and advocate on behalf of others.”

The campaign brought the #DreamBigPrincess message to life in a multitude of ways, including highlighting women who’ve achieved success in the face of adversity, young Girl Up Teen Advisors who’ve already helped make a positive impact on the world, and girls at play who illustrate the importance of imagination in childhood.

Thousands of people also posted their own inspiring images using #DreamBigPrincess, a select number of which will be exhibited alongside the original photographs at the United Nations and supported by UNICEF, which works to protect children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
A core component is to advance gender equality and the rights of girls.

“Imagine a world where every girl follows her dream, and is safe, healthy, and can go to school,” Paloma Escudero, Director of Communications for UNICEF, said. “It is our collective duty to help make this world a reality and empower girls to reach their full potential.”

In 2016, Disney launched “Dream Big, Princess”, a campaign that encourages kids everywhere to dream big by highlighting key story moments and the inspiring qualities that each Disney Princess showcases through her adventures, such as Merida’s bravery, Cinderella’s kindness or Tiana’s perseverance.

While each princess has her own unique and admirable qualities, what they all have in common is resilience and an ability to triumph over adversity to make their dreams come true.

NIALL HORAN: Flicker Sessions Tour 2017 – Miami (Review)

Hey there, music lovers!

This review will be a bit different because my niece was actually the one who attended. I wanted to have her explain the experience in her own words because she’s the target demographic (even though I really enjoyed this album myself). This tour, Flicker Sessions, is promoting the debut solo album from Niall Horan (1/4 of One Direction).

I can tell you that the doors to the venue (The Fillmore Miami Beach)  opened about an hour before the show started, which was about 7pm. The scheduled start time was 8pm and my niece was out at 10:15pm.

Here’s Briana with her thoughts on the show:

I was nervous to see Niall perform by himself because I’m so used to seeing him with the other guys in 1D, but I am so proud of him! Proud mom! The stage didn’t have a big, elaborate set-up and I really liked that. It had a chill vibe that went well with his new music. The sound was great at the venue and Niall’s vocals were on point throughout the whole show (I’m not surprised!). One of my favorite parts was when he stopped singing and playing the guitar and let the audience sing the words back to him. He just looked so happy to be doing this. We almost cried when he started singing “Fool’s Gold” too! It was so emotional.

IMG_0946This was my first time at The Fillmore, but I really liked it. I even heard that the line for Niall’s show was longer than any other show there. I’m not sure how accurate that is, but either way, it was way worth the two hours we spent in line! Some people even started lining up at 5am! We weren’t as close to the stage as we hoped, but just being there at all was such a great experience. While we were in line, someone passed around these bright pink papers shaped like light bulbs that said to hold them in front of our phone flashlights during “This Town” and that was awesome to see. I’ve seen people plan fan projects like that at other shows, but this was the first one I got to participate in.

Gavin James opened up for Niall and he reminded me a lot of Ed Sheeran. I thought he did really well. I highly recommend getting tickets to see Niall live because it really was a great night out!

Bruno spent 2016 crafting the album in his home studio nestled in the coastal mountain range separating the Pacific Ocean and the suburbs of Los Angeles where he grew up. The secluded location is reflected throughout the album. “The record definitely has a feel to it that seems parallel to the vibe of this mountain and the land,” Bruno notes. “It’s like a non-GMO record. There’s no fake shit on there, none of the vocals are tuned. It’s all real playing.”

In support of Here Come The Runts, AWOLNATION will be embarking on a North American headlining tour with support from Nothing But Thieves on February 11th in Toronto. Misadventures at Disney World

We’ve all heard that Disney is the happiest place on Earth, am I right? I wanted to share my experience from this past weekend that disproves that theory. Don’t get me wrong, I know this place is full of magic, but it’s also full of stress and germs and bratty kids and thieves lol.

Let me start out by saying that I have anxiety that, for the most part, lies dormant until I have to drive on a highway or something. So in my 18 years of driving, I’ve never driven to Orlando for a trip to Disney. I spoke to my friend about this recently, so when her boyfriend asked if she wanted to go to Disney for her birthday weekend, she invited my niece and I to tag along. We’d be staying at different hotels and doing our own thing, and I took advantage of my first trip alone with the niece. Things didn’t turn out how I expected though…

My niece, Briana, didn’t have school the day we were leaving, so I requested time off from work so that we could leave early, get to Orlando early, and make it to the Mickey’s-Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party on time. We were already packed and ready to go, but we had to wait for my friend and her boyfriend to get out of work. While we were waiting, we decided to start watching Season 2 of Stranger Things (which is AMAZING, by the way). I thought we’d be in Orlando by about 7-8pm, but we ended up getting there at 9:50 and still had to check in at the hotel. Briana and I checked in, ran up to our room, changed our clothes and ran back down to the shuttle pick-up/drop-off. The shuttles are supposed to run every 30 minutes between the hotel and the parks, but we sat there for almost an hour with no pick-up. A shuttle finally arrived to drop some people off, so I asked the driver if he was heading back to Magic Kingdom. He said he wasn’t, but that he would take us anyway. He veered off-route to transport us to the park. We ran from the bus to the monorail and then ran from the monorail to the entrance only to discover that the parade was taking place. That meant that we couldn’t maneuver our way through the park because the streets and crosswalks were blocked off. We literally got to the park, waited for the parade to finish, rode the Haunted Mansion ride and then had to leave back to our hotel. By that time it was about 2am and all food options were closed. We had to try Uber Eats for the first time and the only option was McDonalds. What should have taken 15 minutes took an hour because the driver got lost on her way to our hotel.

Briana was so excited about going to Disney and I felt terrible that we were only able to spend about an hour there, so we got tickets to Magic Kingdom for the next day too.

On Saturday morning, we woke up and walked over to Disney Springs for some shopping and then went back to the hotel to get ready for Magic Kingdom. We took the shuttle and monorail (again) only to be greeted with cloudy skies and ridiculously long lines. Have you ever been on the magic teacup ride?? This was my first time and I was convinced that part of the fun was watching people stumble out of the teacups. My brain was spinning inside my head for way longer than it probably should have been. While we were waiting for the Winnie the Pooh ride we witnessed a kid bite his mom because she told him he couldn’t do something, and another kid throw a tantrum because he clearly didn’t want to go on a ride but his parents were insisting. When we got off the ride it was beginning to rain, so we decided to go back to the hotel for a few hours and then come back in time for the fireworks.

What should’ve taken about 10 minutes on the monorail took about 30 minutes because one of the kids kept leaning on the doors causing the monorail to stop. Then we had to wait to catch the shuttle back to the hotel and the driver decided to stop at almost every park imaginable to pick people up. What should’ve taken about 20 minutes on the shuttle took about an hour. We literally got to the hotel, used the restroom and then had to run back downstairs to catch the next shuttle to Magic Kingdom.

As we’re getting off of the monorail for what seemed like the hundredth time, we realized it was pouring. Of course, Briana and I had no ponchos or umbrellas because why would we? We live in Florida! It never rains! I hope you caught the sarcasm there. We stood in the pouring rain for three hours surrounded by thousands of people in ponchos. Our hair was dripping, our clothes were sticking to our bodies, our glasses were unusable and we were freezing. When the fireworks were over, we TRIED to rush to the monorail to get back to our hotel, but apparently every single person at the park was leaving at the same time. We had to wait almost an hour for the ride and then ran to the shuttle parking area. We waited there for another hour, in the pouring rain, for a shuttle that never came because it had broken down on another route. My friend had to call an Uber for us.

I’ll spare the details on how we had to defrost ourselves in our hotel room, but when we finally did, Briana found out that a band she likes was doing a meet and greet in Orlando the day after we were leaving. She missed them by one day. ONE DAY!!

As we were packing our things to leave, Briana realized that her little stuffed hippo, Minty, was missing. We undid all of our bags, shook out the sheets on the beds and lifted up chairs, but Minty was lost. We checked out, called lost and found…still no luck. Briana was devastated. I’d bought this thing for her before she was even born. She took it on every trip and had to have it in any room she slept in. It was MINTY!! Someone actually picked up a 13 year old stuffed animal from a hotel lobby and kept it. In Orlando. Where everyone is probably going to spend all their money on stuffed toys and keychains after visiting the parks anyway. OR, someone’s kid picked up this stuffed animal that could’ve belonged to a young child who drooled and wiped sticky hands all over it and allowed them to keep it. I have strong feelings about this, ladies and gentleman! It’s crazy how much sentimental value could lie within a silly, old stuffed animal that had been washed a hundred times! Side note: Have you ever stood at one of these Disney parks and think about how much money is actually walking around it? There are literally thousands and thousands of people who have paid over one hundred dollars each to get in. Not to mention the souvenirs, food and drinks that are bought. So much money goes into these parks yet the prices keep rising. It’s insane!

Sounds like a disaster, doesn’t it?? Even though literally nothing went right on this trip, I still got to spend time with the niece and we had some crazy laughing fits. From the guy slamming his face into the plastic window on the bus as it took a wide turn, to the bratty kid’s mom’s reaction when her son bit her arm, to the missions we went on together. It was a beautiful disaster if you ask me!

Dodger and Astro fans were anxiously watching Game 7 of the World Series as a special “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” aired.

In Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past. 

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.

The dark trailer shows some much anticipated scenes, such as more lightsabers and flight battles.

As this spot is called “Awake,” it was expected to see some Force powers awaken and still there’s more questions brought up from the way the trailer leans to a dark training by Luke Skywalker.
