Fresh from providing vocals on Alan Walker’s huge hits ‘Faded’ and ‘Sing Me To Sleep’, Iselin returns with her debut solo release, ‘Bathtub’. Conceived after an emotionally tumultuous period in her life, the track is a call to take care of yourself.

A minimalistic pop gem, the track is an undulating voyage of glistening vocals and subtle production, with captivating melodies and an infectious chorus.

“I’d done the singer-songwriter thing for a while and all of my friends started to get educations and stuff, and I kind of got insecure about music for the first time… whether I should do it or not… it all got a bit too much”, says Iselin Solheim. “I felt a bit stressed a while ago, and at the time I was supposed to have many sessions in Stockholm. After one of my sessions I retreated to my hotel bathtub to unwind, and was inspired to write the track.”

Taking her inspiration back to the studio the next day, she found a musical affinity with the idea of taking a moment to find some serenity in each day. “I have to remind myself sometimes that I can just take away all the negative thoughts and just focus on good stuff… just find those moments”, says Iselin.

The sentiment transcended the song, forming her own personal therapy and helping to overcome the stress she had been suffering with, and is one that she hopes will connect with her audience.

Returning with this new single, and a wealth of material to follow, it’s clear that Iselin is ready to secure her place as a powerful new musical force.

After joining forces with American country star Hunter Hayes on her previous track ‘Don’t Let Me Forget’ – her 11th consecutive track to be added to Spotify’s New Music FridayCatherine McGrath continues to go from strength-to-strength. In addition to accumulating 12 million streams, her headline shows continue to sell-out quickly and grow in capacity, while other high profile dates have included Radio 2’s Biggest Weekend and continue with a huge British Summer Time show with Michael Bublé.

It’s no wonder that many are heralding the 21-year-old Catherine McGrath as the UK’s answer to Taylor Swift and our first domestic breakthrough country star. The genre is bigger than ever before, as evidenced by huge collabs from Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton, and Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line

Now Catherine shares her new single ‘Lost In The Middle’ ahead of the July 27th release of her debut album ‘Talk Of This Town’. It’s a track which exudes the young songwriter’s pure passion for country, while the energy of the hook gives it an immediately captivating feel. Catherine’s universally relatable lyrics explore music’s power of escapism as she sings, “I put my headphones on, turn the real world off / And I get lost in the middle of a country song.”

“I really wanted to write a song that expresses how country makes me feel,” says Catherine. “Country music is especially good at telling stories, so when you’re having a bad day you can turn to music to take you somewhere else.”

‘Lost In The Middle’ was produced by Steve Robson – an Englishman who became a force within the country scene after co-writing Rascal Flatts’ smash hit ‘What Hurts The Most’ – and was written by Catherine with Robson, Lindy Robbins (Dua Lipa) and Jeffrey Steele (Rascal Flatts).

Catherine’s debut album ‘Talk Of This Town’ was recorded at various locations in Nashville and London, and affirms her credentials as an artist and songwriter to be reckoned with.

Raised in Rostrevor, a small rural village in Northern Ireland, Catherine McGrath is the personification of how country music is opening its borders to talent from far outside of its epicentre in Nashville. In fact, Catherine was immediately embraced by the community upon her first visit.

Country music is of course rooted in Irish folk, so it feels natural that Catherine is at the forefront of a new wave of country. It’s fitting on a personal level too. Catherine was raised in a music loving family, and has regularly performed at her parents’ spirited Fiddler’s Green festival, which attracts musicians from as far afield as North America and Germany. And when Catherine was ready to reach a wider audience, she posted covers of her favourite country songs to YouTube which resulted in her obtaining management and signing a deal with Warner Bros. Records.

Having quickly sold-out her previous London shows at The Camden Assembly and Bush Hall, Catherine recently announced details of her biggest tour to date which commences in September. Her forthcoming tour schedule includes the following gigs:

Highly acclaimed Swedish pop duo I Am Karate have released the lyric video for their new single ‘Expectations’. The video sees the pair’s true heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics painted on balloons as they float among their new pop anthem for all high-flying romantics.

‘Expectations’ is a hugely personal story, inspired by broken-hearted emotions after a relationship fell apart. Reflections on what went wrong and expectations of better things to come are wrapped up in shimmering pop-production, giving hope for everyone with a beating heart.

The song is the first taste of new music from I Am Karate since the release of their critically acclaimed single ‘Swayze’ in 2016. Its release saw them receive huge praise from the likes of The Times, The Guardian and many more.

Now their new release is a playlist feature in-store at UK high street brands across the country, ‘Expectations’ is already proving to be as infectious as their previous hit.

“Dark, shiny electropop from the Swedish duo — think Robyn produced by James Blake.”The Times

“I Am Karate martial their artistry with aplomb. They will chop your head off, in the nicest possible way, with their marvellously maudlin and mordantly mellow mid-tempo melodies.”The Guardian

‘WAY YOU DO IT’

19-year-old Norwegian pop artist Trevis, has shared the vibrant, summer party video for his feel-good, Latino spiced new single ‘Way You Do It’.

The video premiered yesterday with Celebmix where Trevis revealed, The concept for this video was to have as many people from different backgrounds, all having a good time, turning up together for a sick pool-party. I feel we definitely captured a good summer vibe, just like the song… and I like the way that it turned out…baby.”

The video was directed by multiple-platinum creative Isaac Yowman and the track was written, recorded and produced in Spain with Harmony ‘H-Money’ Samuels and Edgar ‘JV The Producer’ Etienne, who has made music for the likes of Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Fifth Harmony and Ne-Yo.

Born in Olso, Trevis’ journey started at a very young age. Part of a well-travelled family he was exposed to the music and cultures of well over 100 countries, which account for his diverse musical style and leanings. Not hailing from one place, Trevis has been inspired by many genres including pop, rock, blues, R&B and Rap.

From the age of eleven, he became involved in everything to do with music, from producing and writing songs to playing instruments, singing, rapping and dancing. He went on to spend three years as an exchange student in Los Angeles and was swallowed up by music and dance in the pop culture’s capital and has since been working with producers, songwriters and choreographers.

Before Christmas, Trevis debuted his first wave of music and has released the four tracks ‘Hard To Get’, ‘Paranoid’, ‘Honey’ and ‘That’s How Love Will Do’ and is now bringing his feel-good Scandi-pop to the UK market. Stay tuned for more tracks to come throughout 2018.
