IMG_7679

Electronic alt rock band VISTA have released an acoustic version of their 2018 single “Born For Blood,” available on YouTube NOW. The single, released in September 2018, is VISTA’s most recently released track.

An electronically-tinged alternative rock band, NY-based outfit VISTA originally formed in late 2015. Comprised of lead vocalist Hope Vista and guitarist Greg Almeida, the band combines both modern alternative rock and electronic influences to create their unique anthemic sound. VISTA released their debut 4-track EP “VERSUS” shortly after their original inception, in which their debut single “On The Brink” debuted worldwide on idobi radio. Their name hasn’t been shy in the press, since; the band has garnered praise from outlets such as Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Substream, and AXS.

Throughout 2017, VISTA has supported Fueled By Ramen artist Against The Current at Irving Plaza, gained idobi rotation with their single “Henchmen,” an anti-oppression anthem, and completed two headlining tours. Their most recent 7-track EP, “Long Live,” released in July 2017, centralizes around the theme of finding an oasis in a dystopian society. “Long Live” immediately made its’ way onto three different iTunes charts and sparked the completion of two US tours, in August and November, respectively. Most recently in 2018, VISTA released 2 singles “Witch Hunt” and “Born For Blood,” both produced by ZK Productions), completed their third US tour “The Bloodlust Tour,” played a date of the Vans Warped Tour, and played multiple support dates with Set It Off. “Witch Hunt” premiered worldwide on idobi radio, quickly garnering 130,000 Spotify streams, and earned video rotation in Journeys’ stores nationwide.

You can catch VISTA on the “On The Hunt Tour: Part II” this April, with support from Pollyanna. All dates can be viewed below. Tickets will be available at www.vistaband.co/tour.

One to watch for 2019, Megan Davies is bringing her unique alt-pop style to the UK shortly, blending together a mix of commercial pop, indie folk and experimental rock.

She has just revealed a special acoustic video of her track ‘Gimme’. The original version debuted on nine Spotify playlists across the globe upon its release in November and was hotly tipped by the likes of Billboard. The release comes ahead of her UK and European headline tour in February and March.

Megan first gained traction online which led to her becoming a YouTube sensation after building up views and subscribers in their millions with her creative acoustic covers and mashups. Tracks like her 3-song mashup ‘See You Again/ Love Me Like You Do/ Sugar’ has had over 60 million video plays and reached #1 on both the US and Global Spotify Viral 50 charts.

She’s now amassed over 190 million views and 1.3 million subscribers on her YouTube channel and she maintains over 6 million Spotify streams each month.

Her influencer status led to collaborations with the likes of the Red Cross & American Cancer Society as well as performing for Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya and the creators of The Greatest Showman then attending the film’s premiere in New York.

Megan’s first dose of original music was the 2017 debut Bad Poetry EP which was released independently and has clocked up over 3 million Spotify streams with the title track getting a lot of love from Sirius XM.

Last year she went on to release the songs ‘Doesn’t Matter’, which won 1st Place in the USA Songwriting Competition – Pop Category, the popular streaming track ‘Moonlight’ and her latest single ‘Gimme’ giving a taste of what’s to come. She also finished off last year with the beautiful festive number ‘Blue Christmas’.

As well as her ever-growing online following, Megan is also rapidly building her presence on the live scene having recently toured across the US supporting YouTube heavyweights Boyce Avenue and has shared the stage with the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Madilyn Bailey and Noah Guthrie and Striking Matches.

She is now excited to play for her UK and European fans next month with her special guest opener and UK native, Alex Francis. There will be a whole host of exciting things to come for 2019.

ISELIN Releases Acoustic Version Of New Single ‘Lost’

‘LOST’

Nordic pop siren Iselin has shared an acoustic version of her new single, ‘Lost’, a touching take on the original which was the follow up to her debut single, ‘Bathtub’.

Forgoing the lush instrumentation of the original, the new, stripped back version accentuates the raw honesty of Iselin’s vocals, and paints the track in an even more affecting light, highlighting its emotional power and poignant lyricism.

‘Lost’ is Iselin’s second solo release, following her debut single, ‘Bathtub’. Inspired by the same muse of honest lyricism that permeates her writing generally, the track was written about an emotionally tumultuous period of her life, and formed her own personal therapy. Throughout her writing, Iselin strives to create a universal and personal message that can be shared by her audience.

‘Lost’ and ‘Bathtub’ are the first releases from Iselin after she provided the vocals for Alan Walker’s huge hits ‘Faded’ and ‘Sing Me To Sleep’. Now returning with a wealth of new material, it’s clear that Iselin is ready to secure her place as a powerful new musical force.

Artist to Watch | Part Two : AMBER RUN

IMG_0367

Three years ago, my niece introduced me to a song called “I Found” by a band I’d never heard of. I was immediately hooked on the sound they had together, so I checked out their EP’s and looked up their name, AMBER RUN.

I decided to feature Amber Run as my “Artist to Watch” back when I was first starting my blog around the same time (you can read that original post HERE). Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait long for a full-length album because their first was released on April 27, 2015. Their debut album, 5AM, doesn’t have one weak song on it, and I definitely think you should check it out! Here’s the track listing for the deluxe version of 5AM:

  1. Found
  2. M.F. (Interlude)
  3. Spark
  4. Hurricane
  5. Noah
  6. Pilot
  7. C.F. Interlude
  8. 5AM
  9. Just My Soul Responding
  10. Good Morning
  11. Shiver
  12. See You Soon
  13. Don’t Wanna Fight
  14. Where Do We Go From Here
  15. Little Ghost
  16. Heaven
  17. Kites

Their second full-length album, For a Moment, I Was Lost, was released in 2017 and here’s the track listing for that one:

  1. Insomniac
  2. No Answers
  3. Island
  4. Stranger
  5. Fickle Game
  6. Haze
  7. White Lie
  8. Perfect
  9. Dark Bloom
  10. Machine
  11. Are You Home?
  12. Wastelands

IMG_0366As you can see, Amber Run is definitely NOT holding back any punches. One of their songs, “Fickle Game,” was featured on the finale of Suits and today they announced that they’re finally making their way over to the US for a show on December 8 in Brooklyn, NY. All I need is for them to travel a bit south (to Florida) and I’ll be one happy, music-loving woman!

If you haven’t heard them yet, do yourself a favor and check them out. You can thank me later. Also, if that weren’t enough, they have an EP titled The Assembly that will be released on May 11, 2018!

You can find more information about Amber Run by visiting their website HERE.

Here’s the video for the song that got me hooked on this incredibly talent band. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Released earlier this month, ‘Icarus’ is a dark and hard-hitting tale of drug abuse. The single itself features soaring guitars and expansive orchestral elements, as well as Dan Owen’s jaw-dropping vocals, and has already gained support from Radio 2. Listen to the original single HERE.

‘Icarus’ follows Dan’s previous singles ‘Made To Love You’ and ‘Hideaway’, all of which feature on his upcoming album. ‘Made To Love You’ has amassed over 10 million streams on Spotify, while his last single ‘Hideaway’ proved a highly praised radio hit.
