ALICE IN CHAINS Release Video For ‘Never Fade’

ALICE IN CHAINS

RELEASE ‘NEVER FADE’ VIDEO

ADAM MASON DIRECTED CLIP FURTHERS STORYLINE FROM
‘THE ONE YOU KNOW’

Back in May, Alice In Chains introduced their new album Rainier Fog (BMG) by releasing The One You Know‘, a video directed by Adam Mason that featured an electrifying performance interspersed with cryptic cinematic scenes. Three months and a No. 1 album later, the band and Mason are furthering the storyline with a video for latest single, ‘Never Fade’.

“The ‘Never Fade’ video is a continuation of ‘The One You Know,’” says vocalist/guitarist William DuVall. “The full story will gradually be revealed. For now, check out what we love to do best – play live and tell a story with our music.”

The multi-platinum quartet (vocalist-guitarist Jerry Cantrell, DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) have spent the past several months playing sold-out shows around the world in support of Rainier Fog, which hit No. 1 across Billboard’s Rock, Alternative and Hard Music Charts and No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart. Tomorrow they take their traveling roadshow to Chile, then Argentina and they’ll wrap up their 2018 touring in Brazil. They’ll rev it up again in March with a string of shows in Australia.

Rainier Fog is Alice In Chains’ first album in five years and saw them record in their hometown of Seattle for the first time in more than 20 years. The album title itself is a tribute to Seattle. They worked at Studio X, the same facility where they tracked 1995’s self-titled Alice In Chains album (back when the studio was known as Bad Animals). The Rainier Fog recording process also saw the band spend time at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles and at the Nashville studio of producer Nick Raskulinecz. Rainier Fog is the third straight Alice In Chains album recorded with Raskulinecz and engineer Paul Figueroa. The album was mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool).

BAND CURRENTLY ON WORLDWIDE HEADLINE TOUR

ALICE IN CHAINS have announced an August 24th release for the long-awaited RAINIER FOG (BMG), their first album in five years. They’re giving fans another sneak preview of the album with today’s release of second track ‘So Far Under’ – click HERE to listen.

‘So Far Under’ follows the recent release of ‘The One You Know’ and its Adam Mason-directed companion video, which has already amassed over 2.3 million views – click HERE to watch.

Both ‘The One You Know’ and ‘So Far Under’ are available as instant downloads by clicking HERE to pre-order RAINIER FOG.

The album will be available digitally, as well as on CD and limited-edition double 180-gram clear LP with white and black splatter available only from the band’s online store HERE.

About ‘So Far Under’, Alice In Chains vocalist/guitarist William DuVall says, “It’s about feeling completely up against it – outnumbered, surrounded, facing seemingly unbeatable odds and being really pissed off about it. It was inspired by personal circumstances, as well as events in the wider world. But it’s not as resigned to defeat as it may seem. The lyric is a cold, hard assessment of a difficult situation but the music has a message all its own. There’s still room to flip the script. Every aspect of writing and recording this song will always be remembered with a lot of joy – from recording the basic tracks and the guitar solo at Studio X in Seattle to doing further overdubs at Nick Raskulinecz’s studio in rural Tennessee. Everyone in the band and our studio team really stepped up and knocked it out of the park on this one. We’re extremely proud of this song and the entire album.”

RAINIER FOG marks a few firsts for the band: in addition to being their first album in five years, it’s their first album for BMG and their first time recording in their hometown of Seattle in more than 20 years (worth noting that the album title is a tribute to Seattle). They recorded at Studio X, the same facility where they tracked 1995’s self-titled Alice In Chains album (back when the studio was known as Bad Animals).

The RAINIER FOG recording process also saw the band spend time at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles and at the Nashville studio of producer Nick Raskulinecz. RAINIER FOG is the third straight Alice In Chains album recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz and engineer Paul Figueroa. The album was mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool).

RAINIER FOG follows 2013’s Grammy nominated The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart at No. 2 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums charts and the iTunes Rock Album Chart. Its first two singles, ‘Stone’ and ‘Hollow’, both shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and ‘Voices’ hit No. 3. All three tracks stayed on the chart for over 20 weeks.

Alice In Chains (vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell, vocalist/guitarist William DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) are currently touring Europe following two triumphant sold-out shows in the UK at Leeds O2 Academy and Shepherd’s Bush Empire. They have just announced another headline tour of North America running from August 22nd in Vancouver. Full dates and ticket info can be found HERE.

Over the course of their remarkable career, ALICE IN CHAINS have garnered multiple Grammy nominations, sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and amassed a diehard international fanbase whose members number in the millions. They remain one of the most successful and influential American rock bands of all time.

*SOLD OUT JUNE UK DATES*

ALICE IN CHAINS (vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell, drummer Sean Kinney, bassist Mike Inez and vocalist/guitarist William DuVall) have released ‘The One You Know’, their first new track in five years – click HERE to listen/purchase and HERE to watch the Adam Mason-directed video.

‘The One You Know’ is the first track from the band’s upcoming album and their first release on their new label home BMG. Cantrell discussed the eagerly-anticipated album in a recent interview, saying, “It’s a record we haven’t done yet, but it’s also a record that has all the elements of anything you would expect from us. It’s got our fingerprint. And we’re really proud of the material we wrote and the performances we captured. There’s some really heavy sh*t, some really ugly stuff, some really beautiful stuff, some weirdo trippy sh*t…it’s good.”

As for the span between albums, he adds, “We wait until we’re ready and until we have material that’s up to the Alice In Chains standard and then we do what we do. This is the racket we make when we get together.”

The yet-to-be-titled album is the third straight Alice In Chains studio release recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz and engineer Paul Figueroa following 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and 2009’s Black Gives Way To Blue, both of which achieved commercial and critical success.

The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart at No. 2 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums charts and the iTunes Rock Album Chart and its first two singles, ‘Stone’ and ‘Hollow’, both hit No. 1 on the rock charts. Black Gives Way To Blue debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top 200, spawned two No. 1 hit singles with ‘Check My Brain’ and ‘Your Decision’ and garnered two Grammy nominations. Along the way, the band drew praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, USA Today, Metal Hammer, Kerrang, NME, Q and many more.

Alice In Chains are currently on a worldwide trek that will take them across North America and Europe including two sold out UK shows at Leeds O2 Academy on June 16th and O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on June 17th. All dates and ticket info can be found HERE.
