Artist to Watch: 4TH AVE | #4thAve @4th_Ave_Music

IMG_2169Ladies and gentlemen, we have another band on our hands!

After an incredible run on ABC’s Boy Band, Jaden Gray, Mikey Jimenez and Marcus Pendleton made it to the top 8, where they fell short of the final band. BUT, never fear, we all knew their talent was far too great to have it end there. With the help of another strong voice from the show, Camry Jackson, the guys formed a new band and announced their name today via newsletter–4th Ave!

After weeks and weeks of speculation, the guys had announced that they would be providing back up vocals for Charlie Puth on an episode of NBC’s The Voice this past season. It was their first TV spot since Boy Band ended and, to be honest, they felt like a band. For them to be back up for an established artist and still have a strong stage presence says so much about these guys. It speaks volumes for what’s sure to come.

In the newsletter, the guys revealed the band name and a first run for merch. They’re releasing it in limited quantities each time a run is out. So, for RUN 1, they’ll have limited quantities and then that design will be thrown out and replaced with a new design for RUN 2. They’re also including a free download of their first single (which I believe will be released on February 9, 2018) with each purchase from RUN 1.

I may be in my thirties, but I’m really excited about this band. Their voices are absolutely incredible on their own, but together they’re about to blow minds. Not to mention the fact that they’re working with some incredible people: Tim Davis and Adam Blackstone.

Head over to to shop the merch in RUN 1. You can also find them at the following links:

It’s Official! I’m a Rep for PURAVIDA! | #puravida #puravidabracelets

What’s up, everyone?! I am so stoked about this post, I can’t even control it haha!

I got the news today that I’m officially a rep for PURAVIDA! Anyone who knows me knows that I love to stack bracelets on bracelets on bracelets, so giving others the chance to do the same makes me a very happy woman lol.

You can check out their full bio over at, and also start to make your fabulous purchases. But first, I wanted to share a little bit of insight into why I’m so excited about this. “Pura Vida” is Spanish for “pure life” – something we should all be striving for, am I right? Each bracelet is handcrafted and helps to provide full-time jobs for local artisans in Costa Rica.

So, as a lover of art, and as a supporter of hard work and creativity, join me in supporting these artists and all local artists who pour their hearts out to make trendy things for us to wear and share! Check out to order their limited edition 4th of July bracelets:

Competition Series Hosted by GrammyⓇAward-Winner Ludacris Features
Demi Lovato, Backstreet Boys, Jason Derulo, Charlie Puth and Emerging Musicians Performing The Biggest Hits In Front of Superstar Artists

Winner to Get a Chance to Perform a Duet with Superstar Artist and Premiere it on YouTube

Ryan Seacrest Productions and Endemol Shine North America today announced Best.Cover.Ever., a cutting-edge talent competition series hosted by Grammy Award-winning artist Ludacris and featuring Demi Lovato, Backstreet Boys, Jason Derulo and Charlie Puth that will premiere exclusively on YouTube later this year.  Additional top artists to be announced in coming weeks.

Demi Lovato, The Backstreet Boys and Jason Derulo will kickoff the first submission phase, which begins today through May 19th, where fans are encouraged to upload a video to YouTube performing their creative cover of these superstar artists’ biggest hits: As Long As You Love Me (Backstreet Boys, video here), Confident (Demi Lovato, video here) and Trumpets (Jason Derulo, video here). Other superstar artists will encourage fans to record covers of their songs on future dates. “We couldn’t be more excited to premiere this new talent music competition series exclusively on YouTube. Cover songs are a terrific vehicle to help discover fresh talent and YouTube is the perfect platform to do it,” said Ryan Seacrest, series Executive Producer and CEO of Ryan Seacrest Productions. “These new young artists will also have the chance to work alongside some of the most renowned musicians in the world, which we hope will generate some great experiences for the artists and contestants alike, and, in turn produce some memorable performances.”

“YouTube is the ideal home for ‘Best.Cover.Ever.,’ a ground-breaking competition format that will feature many of the top names in the music industry paired with emerging artists, all under the direction of Ryan Seacrest, Ludacris and our two experienced production teams,” says Eden Gaha, President, Unscripted Television, Endemol Shine North America.

Fun Facts:

Backstreet Boys Fun Fact:
YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki came across a video of two guys in China lipsynching to As Long As You Love Me by the Backstreet Boys in 2006. It was in that moment Wojcicki realized that through YouTube, “people all over the world can create content” and encouraged Google to acquire the video service. The world famous video with over 1M views can be watched hereReference source.

Demi Lovato Fun Fact:
While known for her own hits, Demi Lovato tunes have been a boon for other artists as well – a popular cover of “Heart Attack” by Sam Tsui & Chrissy Costanza has earned an impressive 77 million views while Boyce Avenue and Megan Nicole’s rendition of “Skyscraper” has been watched over 18.4 million times.

Jason Derulo Fun Fact:
While best known for his own chart-toppers — his recent video “Swalla” has garnered 108+ million views since dropping last month, setting a new personal best for the crooner — Jason Derulo is hardly a stranger to the covers world, having notably teamed up with A capella heavyweight Pentatonix for an all-vocal rendition of Shai’s soulful 90s hit “If I Ever Fall in Love.” Pentatonix’s 2016 video for the cover has earned Derulo and the quintet over 15 million views.

Day 1: The Holidays According to Kristin

Hey everyone!

So my classes are finally settling down and I really wanted to concentrate more on original content. What better way than to include exciting holiday information?! For the next month, I’ll list some of my favorite gift ideas and some of my favorite holiday moments and traditions over the years.

My hope is that my readers will comment their thoughts, feelings, and even some of their favorite holiday moments and traditions. Talk to me! I want to know what the holidays are like for you and your family. Even if they’re rough this year. As some of you might know, my father passed away unexpectedly last year, so the holidays could be bitter sweet at times. So even if you just need to vent or feel like someone understands what you might be going through, you can count on me.

With that being said, I want to start out by sharing three of my favorite holiday songs right now. My dad was one of those people who would listen to Christmas music NON-STOP after Halloween, and it seriously drove me nuts! I just never understood how many times he could hear ‘Frosty the Snowman’ or ‘Winter Wonderland’ without wanting to quit Christmas altogether. Thankfully, one of my favorite artists right now, Pentatonix, has two Christmas albums that have been released over the last two years and they’re full of updated, fresh holiday music. Their talent is off the scales and they can really put you in that holiday spirit.

Here are the links to their Christmas albums on iTunes. Check them out, and let me know if you have any favorites! You can also find the top two albums below on Vinyl, which would be an amazing Christmas gift!
