DECEMBER

Gabrielle Aplin and Hannah Grace have released a collaborative Christmas EP December through Never Fade Records. The pair performed together at the Never Fade Christmas Party at Union Chapel on Dec 4th.

The four-track December EP features the brand new song and title-track, written and performed by Gabrielle Aplin and Hannah Grace. It’s a beautiful piano-led ballad showcasing the duo’s perfect pairing of stunning songwriting and vocals.

The December EP also features magnificent covers of classic Christmas songs including ‘River’ by Joni Mitchell, Elvis Presley and Martina McBride’s ‘Blue Christmas’ and ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ originally sung by Judy Garland.

Regarding the collaboration Gabrielle Aplin says, “I’m really happy to finally have a song out with my friend Hannah Grace. We’ve sang together for years so it was great to finally work on something new together. We’ve been wanting to collaborate on a Christmas EP for such a long time!”

Speaking about the release Hannah Grace says, “We’re so excited to share ‘December’ with the world. We got to make the EP with a long time collaborator of both of ours, Luke Potashnick, and that made the recording process so fun and special. This EP means a lot to us and we cannot wait for everyone to hear it!”

Gabrielle Aplin and Hannah Grace have come together after a friendship that began many years ago through a shared love of music and songwriting. Their individual artist projects have always been intertwined and this year Hannah Grace signed to Never Fade Records, a label Gabrielle Aplin founded in 2010.

A joint project featuring Gabrielle and Hannah had always been a dream and last year at the annual Never Fade Records Christmas Party the idea of the collaborative Christmas EP was born.

Gabrielle Aplin and Hannah Grace brought the December EP to life at 2018’s Never Fade Christmas Party, a celebration of Never Fade Records and its friends, also including the likes of Lauren Aquilina, Lewis Watson, Orla Gartland, Sonny and more.

The release of the December EP precedes Hannah Grace’s forthcoming single ‘With You’, which will be released in January.

The EP also follows the Gabrielle Aplin’s return last week with her brand new single ‘My Mistake’, the first taste of her forthcoming third album due out next year and the first release on her new worldwide record deal with AWAL.

‘My Mistake’ was released on Wednesday (Nov 28th) to a great reaction across the board of fans and media alike. It featured on 18 ‘New Music Friday’ Spotify playlists across the world including the UK and US, while it has received strong critical praise from the likes of Billboard, Sunday Times Culture and The Sun alongside early Radio 2 support from Dermot O’Leary. The gorgeous video has already clocked up 200,000 views.

“Sweet country pop right out of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now era”
THE TIMES

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Amy Lawton has released her brand new single ‘Don’t Bring Louise’. The new song is one of heartfelt unrequited love, featuring beautiful harmonies among its sincere country pop.

Regarding the single Amy says, “‘Don’t Bring Louise’ is a true story, about a real girl that my ex-boyfriend dated. I started writing the song when I heard her name for the first time. I’d never met her but as soon as I heard her name I started building a picture of her and the lyrics started to form in my head. It’s about a feeling that gets reignited the first time you hear that the other person has moved on, even if you thought you were over it.”

‘Don’t Bring Louise’ follows the release of her highly praised singles ‘Hurts Like Paradise’ and ‘Undone’. Since emerging last year Amy has received support from the likes of The Times, 1883 Magazine, CelebMix and many more.

A burgeoning name on the UK live scene, Amy has just completed her first ever regional tour, where she played 19-dates across the country. She also performed at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this summer.

In London, Amy has played at many famous venues in the city including Ronnie Scott’s, The Troubadour, The Bedford and The Social among many others. She also played as support to Jack Savoretti at Cadogan Hall.

While still fresh-faced, Amy comes armed with sharpened experience well beyond her years and is proving her self to be an exciting new name on the singer/songwriter scene.

‘BLACKOUT’
VIDEO RELEASED
WATCH HERE

Archie Faulks has shared the video for his new single ‘Blackout.’

A succession of beautifully shot abstract clips, the video conveys a surreal dreamlike ambience that simultaneously straddles both the romantic and unnerving; an ethereal visual journey into the fantastic and unsettling mind-set of an individual plagued by lonely, obsessive desire.

The song premiered on the Radio 1 ‘Chillest Show’ with Jamz Supernova in for Phil Taggart. A strong supporter of Archie, Phil previously called him “a serious talent”.
‘Blackout’ follows the release of Archie’s debut single ‘It Rains’ earlier this year. The song received support from Radio 1 and Radio X and has clocked up almost a million streams across Apple Music & Spotify.

The release led Archie to sell out his debut headline show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters, and also saw him taken out on European tours with Rue Royale where he played three shows in Holland & Isaac Gracie where he performed four dates in Germany. He has also just played his very first live dates in the US and played two sold out shows in New York last week.

Archie will be announcing further live performances soon.

Theatrical punks Felix Hagan & The Family have today released the video for new single ‘Gene Kelly’, taken from their acclaimed debut album Attention Seeker. The band have also been announced as support for the Arkells across the UK and Europe this month.

Regarding ‘Gene Kelly’ Felix Hagan says, “Gene Kelly is my favourite track on the album. It was written about the madness that comes with doing this job for a living, and is the definitive statement of who we are as a band and what we want to give to people”.

The band will be on the road later this month, playing ten dates across the UK and Europe supporting Arkells. The UK dates commence in Bristol on November 21st and finish in Brighton on the 29th, with a date at London’s Heaven on the 23rd. Full dates can be found below.

MTV MIDTERM ELECTION AFTERPARTY IN MIAMI | #Plus1TheVote

Hello there! I was invited to attend the MTV ELECTION AFTERPARTY at Miami-Dade College’s Kendall Campus on November 6th to celebrate voter turnout, and it really was a fantastic night!

The “red” carpet was cut a bit short due to the doors opening for general admission, but we got to see hosts Charlamagne The God and Liza Koshy hit the carpet, along with PRETTYMUCH, a few of the March For Our Lives co-founders (Delaney Tarr, Tyah Roberts, John Barnitt, Adam Alhanti, Daniel Duff and Brandon Dasent), Lauren Jauregui, Amara La Negra, Jazz Jennings and Ashanti.

While DJ Nasty played some recognizable hits for the growing crowd, people could roam around, grab something to eat or drink, take photos at designated photo areas and also pick up some free swag courtesy of MTV. Liza and Charlamagne were great, engaging, hosts and the performances were high energy the whole night. There were even little dance battles breaking out in the crowd while DJ Nasty played between sets.

One thing that really hit me while attending this event was the number of young people rocking their “I VOTED” stickers. Some wore their stickers on their shirts, while others wore them loud and proud on their cheeks. Host Liza Koshy (who, by the way, is honestly one of THE sweetest people I’ve ever met & should be protected at all costs lol) found an even more interesting spot for her stickers (see above).

I’m guilty of being 34 and only just learning how important the Midterm Elections really are, so it really made me proud to be considered part of the Millennial generation that went out there and put our voices to good use this time. It also made me proud to have my niece, Briana, with me as an intern for the event. While she’s not yet old enough to vote, my hope is that bringing her to an event like this, where voting is celebrated and is gaining popularity amongst the future leaders of our country, will instill that importance in her before she’s even able to register. If we can help inform younger generations of the importance I was previously unaware of, they’ll be inspired to go out and join us at the polls in the future and that is what this country needs–informed individuals who vote for improvement on important topics like gun control, women’s reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, climate change, police brutality, etc.

The fact that MTV hosted this event here in Miami and that the hosts, guests and performers took the time out of their busy schedules to celebrate with us as voters was very much appreciated by everyone in attendance.

While on-stage, PRETTYMUCH (Brandon Arreaga, Zion Kuwonu, Nick Mara, Edwin Honoret and Austin Porter) were asked which issues they felt most passionate about. While they’re all new to voting, Austin jumped at the chance to speak on climate change. He urged the crowd to take care of our environment and to protect it for future generations. Tyah Roberts (one of the many co-founders of the March For Our Lives movement) said she felt like a superhero as a first time voter. She insisted that everyone go out be their own superheroes by using their power to create change.

As an older part of this Millennial generation, it made me proud to know that one day we’ll be leaving this country in these mature, educated, inspirational hands. Here is what my niece, a future voter, thought of the event:

“It was awesome getting to be at an event like this. Being able to meet Liza Koshy and Prettymuch were a bonus! My aunt talks to me about the importance of voting and, even though I’m not old enough to vote yet, being around so many people close to my age that are speaking up and trying to change things really proves how important it is.  Once I turn 18, I can’t wait to do the same.”

We just wanted to send a special THANK YOU to everyone that planned the event, attended the event, allowed us to be there and especially to everyone who went out and voted! That’s what it’s about, people! Make your voices heard and create change!

‘Blackout’ is a beautiful ballad influenced by love, as Archie explains, “‘Blackout’ is a song for all the dreamers and fantasists out there – when falling in love seems almost a weekly occurrence (on the tube, brief exchange in the smoking area, dare I say it… Instagram) closing your eyes and ‘blacking out’ makes these fleeting fancies romantic and just a touch from reality.”

RELEASE ‘NEVER FADE’ VIDEO

ADAM MASON DIRECTED CLIP FURTHERS STORYLINE FROM
‘THE ONE YOU KNOW’

Back in May, Alice In Chains introduced their new album Rainier Fog (BMG) by releasing The One You Know‘, a video directed by Adam Mason that featured an electrifying performance interspersed with cryptic cinematic scenes. Three months and a No. 1 album later, the band and Mason are furthering the storyline with a video for latest single, ‘Never Fade’.

“The ‘Never Fade’ video is a continuation of ‘The One You Know,’” says vocalist/guitarist William DuVall. “The full story will gradually be revealed. For now, check out what we love to do best – play live and tell a story with our music.”

The multi-platinum quartet (vocalist-guitarist Jerry Cantrell, DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) have spent the past several months playing sold-out shows around the world in support of Rainier Fog, which hit No. 1 across Billboard’s Rock, Alternative and Hard Music Charts and No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart. Tomorrow they take their traveling roadshow to Chile, then Argentina and they’ll wrap up their 2018 touring in Brazil. They’ll rev it up again in March with a string of shows in Australia.

Rainier Fog is Alice In Chains’ first album in five years and saw them record in their hometown of Seattle for the first time in more than 20 years. The album title itself is a tribute to Seattle. They worked at Studio X, the same facility where they tracked 1995’s self-titled Alice In Chains album (back when the studio was known as Bad Animals). The Rainier Fog recording process also saw the band spend time at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles and at the Nashville studio of producer Nick Raskulinecz. Rainier Fog is the third straight Alice In Chains album recorded with Raskulinecz and engineer Paul Figueroa. The album was mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool).

THE SCENE AESTHETIC Returns: New song! New Tour Dates!

THE SCENE AESTHETIC
RETURNS WITH NEW SONG “SEASON”
ON THE ROAD THIS WINTER

image (2)

Seattle’s favorite emo duo The Scene Aesthetic is back! Six years of fans clamoring for new music, Andrew de Torres and Eric Kimberlin have dropped “Season”, the elegant and deeply personal track previewing their forthcoming release in 2019.

“’Season’ is really about struggle,” says de Torres. “The last three years for me have been incredibly hard. I lost my mother, lost my brother, in a lot of ways lost my sister as well. Everything around me was falling apart and the whole time I was just trying to remind myself that at some point those feelings would end, that the weight would eventually be lifted off my shoulders, and that’s really what the song is about. It’s just knowing that dark times will pass, just like seasons come and go…”

Though de Torres and Kimberlin hadn’t vacated the spotlight completely. Prince of Spain housed songs that felt definitely un-TSA for the last several years but as Torres began to experience insurmountable loss in his family, The Scene Aesthetic vibe returned to his songwriting. Torres combed through his original influences-Dashboard Confessional, The Early November etc-and found a fresh spirit for The Scene Aesthetic.

PRETTYMUCH: Funktion Tour 2018 | Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL – 10/29/18

prettymuch-2018-tour[1]

Hey there, concert-goers!

Guess who spent 11 hours at Revolution Live on Monday because they’re the best aunt ever?? This girl right here! I’d bought my niece & I VIP tickets so she could meet PRETTYMUCH, and that pretty much (pun intended) included sitting outside the venue from 11 am until the show was done at almost 10 pm. In Florida. Where we don’t participate in gorgeous, chilly Fall weather. Nope. We sat (thankfully) in the shade with the sun glaring down around us for most of the day.

If you weren’t already aware, PRETTYMUCH is composed of Zion Kuwonu, Brandon Arreaga, Nick Mara, Austin Porter and Edwin Honoret. They were put together in 2016 by Syco Music founder, Simon Cowell and have been working extra hard to get their name out there in the music industry.

The “meet & greet” at our show started between 4:45 and 5 pm, and was a quicker experience than I thought it would be. I know that’s not up to the guys though, and all the girls seemed to appreciate what little time they did get with them, so we do as good family members do and shell out the cash to make them happy doing the things we didn’t get to do when we were younger. I happened to have bought myself a M&G ticket before I knew my niece had a friend coming down for the show, so I gave her my wristband so she could meet the guys.

After the meet & greet, fans with VIP tickets got to head inside of the venue early in order to score some merch and grab their spots as close to the stage as possible. I opted to stand where the parents were in order to avoid getting trampled by excited fans (believe me, I understand the excitement lol). Doors for those with GA admission entered the venue at about 6:30 and the show actually started at 7:30 with opening act, Gunnar Gehl.

Gunnar was great at hyping up the crowd before PRETTYMUCH hit the stage. He had a mix of upbeat songs and slow, acoustic songs, as well as a medley of covers that the crowd knew and loved.

PRETTYMUCH hit the stage at about 8:30 to hundreds of high-pitched screaming fans that couldn’t wait to catch their favorites up close. I have to admit, I’ve been to A LOT of live shows in my life so far and this had to be one of the most lit crowds I’ve experienced. From the moment the guys stepped on-stage, the energy level was through the roof. If you’ve ever watched their performances on YouTube (I’ve seen plenty), you know that that’s their reputation. Their performance level is always beyond 100. What I like about watching them perform is that rather than trying to be completely in sync with their dancing, they each do the choreography in their own respective styles. There’s just something different about them that I think really resonates with their fans. They dress different, they dance different, they are different and that’s a great message to spread to their young fans. They’re not a cookie-cutter boy band and they’re likely not going anywhere for a while! Which is cool because even though I’m 34, I actually really like their music and their dancing  (don’t judge me).

While performing, there were huge bursts of smoke that shot out over the crowd when the beat dropped, which only seemed to hype the fans up even more. Their set was about 1 hour – 1 hour and 15 minutes of non-stop excitement and I definitely recommend checking out one of their shows if you can.

You can check out the set list below:

  1. Real Friends

GEORGE GLEW Releases Atmospheric New Single ‘Higher’

GEORGE GLEW

RELEASES NEW SINGLE
‘HIGHER’
SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD

NEW EP – VOL. 2
DUE FOR RELEASE IN SPRING 2019

Bristol-based artist George Glew has released his new single, ‘Higher’, the first to be taken from his upcoming EP, Vol. 2, and the follow up to this year’s Vol. 1.

The track premiered with Clash, who called it “a deft fusion of emotive songwriting and dappled electronics… a confident step forward, rooted in that broad, affecting vocal, and the sparse, subtle arrangement.” A delicate blend of minimalist guitars and vocal harmonies, ‘Higher’ builds from subtle fragility to soaring crescendos, an uplifting and transcendent sonic journey taking in soulful vocals, captivating production and infectious, stirring choruses.

“Through the past couple of years I’ve been through some of the biggest challenges personally,” explains George. “The song is about togetherness and how, through bonds in friends and family, we can really face and take on that adversity.”

The track is the first in a series of releases that will form his new EP, Vol. 2, due for release in Spring 2019. It finds George exploring collaboration more than his previous releases, seeing him writing and producing with friends rather than writing alone, seeking to share the moment created in the music.

“I changed my approach to writing by just wanting the music to make me feel something rather than it being a well-crafted song,” says George.

This new approach has become a muse for his musical progression; a catalyst for finding a new sound which permeates his upcoming releases.

The new track follows the release of his latest EP, Vol. 1, which has over 2.2 million plays on Spotify alone. George has supported the likes of Tom Walker, Lewis Capaldi, Marsicans, Sea Girls and Dennis Lloyd, and his previous releases have seen acclaim from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Dork and Clash, as well as radio support from Annie Mac, John Kennedy, Elton John and a feature on Apple Music’s A-List.

I’ve always wanted to be an artist from a young age when I was listening to Eminem and writing lyrics at school. I then moved on from that and very slowly found my voice and starting song writing. I think it’s always something I’ve wanted to pursue but once I got into The Brit School some years later to study music that was when I said to myself this is what I’m going to pursue now 100%.

  • When did you begin writing songs?

I was always writing lyrics and making backing tracks from an early age but I think I probably wrote my first ‘proper’ song when I was about 14 – which nobody ever has to hear!
  • What is your songwriting process like?

Always random. I’ve gone through phases of being obsessed with the production of songs and thinking I’ve got to be creating the most cutting edge thing you’ve ever heard to be noticed. But, I think I’ve learned now that longevity comes from the song writing not what synths you’re using, and people connect with ‘songs’ more than anything else so I’m baring that in mind when I write now.

I’m always recording notes into my phone with ideas so usually this is how I get ideas rolling for songs or themes.

  • Who has influenced you musically (& personally)?

Many artists, but I’d say of late John Mayer, George Benson and D’Angelo have influenced me just in terms of being inspired by their music and their musicianship.

My Dad has also been a big influence with introducing me to so many amazing artist’s and albums over the years. He’s also a musician so there’s always been a constant stream of music playing around me.

  • What is your favorite song to perform live?

At the moment it’s a brand new song I’ve written called ‘Feels For You’ as it was inspired by someone I met recently. It’s always your latest creation that is your favourite as it’s new and exciting. I actually performed this song live for the first time while the person who inspired this song was in the audience…bit nerve-racking!

  • Your latest release, ‘Come On Over,’ has a mellow, jazzy, R&B vibe to it & talks about heartbreak and the struggle to move on from a relationship. How important is it for you to pour personal experiences into your songwriting and maybe drawing from the experiences of others to relate to your audience?

It’s hugely important for me as I really don’t want to be singing songs that don’t mean anything to me. I’ve had people push me to write songs quickly in the past and you just end up writing fictitious stories which mean nothing to you and at the end of the day and I’d much prefer to know exactly why I wrote a song and who was in my mind while writing it. So I’m just taking my time and when I feel strongly enough about something I’ll write about it.

  • Do you have any upcoming projects we should keep our eyes (& ears) open for?

I will be releasing a new single in the not too distant future which I’m very excited about as this one is definitely more upbeat than ‘Come on Over’ and I’m also busy working on an EP which I plan to release in the New Year. I’m producing the EP myself so this is taking a lot of time and patience and is something I’ve never done with the FØNX project before.

  • Where can everyone find you online?

You can find me on all usual social media and stores but if you’re on Spotify go follow me there and if you use Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, you can also find me there at /fonxmusic.

Electronic alt rock band VISTA are not anywhere near slowing down their momentum. Fresh off the completion of their third US tour, “The Bloodlust Tour,” multiple support dates with Set It Off, and a music video for their last single “Witch Hunt”, VISTA has officially released a new single, titled “Born For Blood,” out on all digital platforms NOW. Recorded and produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount of ZK Productions (Mayday Parade, Set It Off), “Born For Blood,” a wildly upbeat, distortion-laced, electronic-infused alternative rock track explores themes of hunger, determination, and empowerment. The stand-alone single is a true testament to VISTA’s evolution this year, filled with their signature layered vocals, gritty production, and raw passion. “Born For Blood” will be the final release for their current EP cycle, and the band recently returned to the studio to begin working on their 3rd record. Prior to this release, they dropped their last single “Witch Hunt” in May, which quickly became the band’s most-streamed song on Spotify, racking up 72,000+ streams as of yet.

An electronically-tinged alternative rock band, NY-based outfit VISTA originally formed in late 2015. Comprised of lead vocalist Hope Vista and guitarist Greg Almeida, the band combines both modern alternative rock and electronic influences to create their unique anthemic sound. VISTA released their debut 4-track EP “VERSUS” shortly after their original inception, in which their debut single “On The Brink” debuted worldwide on idobi radio. Their name hasn’t been shy in the press, since; the band has garnered praise from outlets such as Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Substream, and AXS. Since the start of 2017, VISTA has supported Fueled By Ramen artist Against The Current at Irving Plaza, gained idobi rotation with their single “Henchmen,” an anti-oppression anthem, and completed two headlining tours. Their most recent 7-track EP, “Long Live,” released in July 2017, lyrically centralizes around the theme of finding an oasis in a dystopian society. “Long Live” immediately made its’ way onto three different iTunes Alternative charts and sparked the completion of two promotional tours, in August and November, respectively. Most recently in 2018, VISTA released their recent single “Witch Hunt” (produced by ZK Productions), completed their third US tour “The Bloodlust Tour,” played a date of the Vans Warped Tour in New York, played multiple September support dates with Set It Off (Fearless Records), “Witch Hunt” premiered worldwide on idobi radio, and quickly became their most-streamed song, garnering 70,000+ Spotify streams, and earned video rotation in Journeys’ stores nationwide. The final single of the Long Live EP cycle, “Born For Blood” is out on all digital platforms NOW.

British glam-rockers The Struts have shared the new video for ‘Primadonna Like Me’. The video follows the announcement of their highly anticipated new album, YOUNG&DANGEROUS, out October 26th via Polydor Records.

A raucous barrage of exuberant excess, the video sees the band take a wild trip around the glistening casinos of Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace Hotel. Surrounded by screaming fans and dripping with foot-stomping, disco-inflected, glitter-drenched swagger, the video also features footage from their recent sold out San Diego headline show.

“Not long ago we flew from the UK straight to Las Vegas and shot a music video in the early hours of the morning,” says frontman Luke Spiller. “Rolling around the casinos and a huge penthouse, we had a lot of fun with ‘Primadonna Like Me.’ Not quite sure how we managed to pull this off, but here it is for your own viewing pleasure. Enjoy and don’t forget to be a Primadonna, baby! X”

The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album YOUNG&DANGEROUS, the follow up to 2016’s critically acclaimed Everybody Wants, in addition to the previously released ‘Body Talks’ and most recent single ‘Bulletproof Baby’. The album will also feature their explosive collaboration, ‘Body Talks ft. Kesha’.

On YOUNG&DANGEROUS, The Struts let loose with the sing-along-ready and riff-heavy sound they’ve brought to stadiums and arenas all around the world, adorning that sound with deeper grooves and inventive textures, dreaming up a majestic glam-rock masterpiece that’s unabashedly fun but full of pure heart.

The band have also announced a UK tour for February 2019, which sees them play eight shows, finishing with London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on the 26th.

In just a few years, The Struts have found themselves embraced by some of the greatest icons in rock-and-roll history. Along with opening for The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Guns N’ Roses, the U.K.-bred four-piece was hand-picked by Mötley Crüe to serve as the supporting act for their last-ever performances, while Dave Grohl praised them as the best band to ever open for Foo Fighters.

They also made their most high-profile US TV appearance to date this week, in front of more than 12 million people, performing their 2016 US hit single ‘Could Have Been Me’ and a cover of Janis Joplin’s ‘Piece Of My Heart’ with UK teenager Courtney Hadwin, who was a finalist on the show. Ambient Production Duo AG. Release Video for ‘All Falls Down’

‘ALL FALLS DOWN’ VIDEO RELEASED

SERVIA
DEBUT EP ANNOUNCED | OUT SEPT 28TH VIA ONT’ SOFA RECORDS

Leeds-based ambient production duo ag. have announced the release of their debut EP Servia, out on September 28th via Ont’ Sofa Records. To mark the announcement the pair have released the video for their latest single ‘All Falls Down’.

Featuring soulful vocals and lush production, ‘All Falls Down’ flows between minimalist passages and atmospheric crescendos, creating a blissfully ethereal and emotive track. The video premiered with Clash, who said, “’All Falls Down’ is expertly done, achieving that innate balance needed for something truly striking.”

Regarding the video ag. say, “Our music video transpires the strain of wanting to make something work but your other half keeps running away from acknowledging the problems. We just wanted to put across the emotion, which our lyrics portray. We worked with a great Director called Tom Pallant, an old friend from the north who headed to London to pursue film. He did a great job and we’re already planning our next videos with him.”

‘All Falls Down’ follows the release of ag.’s debut single ‘Warped Minds’, both taken from the forthcoming debut EP Servia. Elsewhere on the forthcoming EP is the soulful opener ‘I Know’, twisted dream-laden production in ‘Close Of Day’, a stirring concoction of emotive songwriting and dark future bass on ‘Spell’, while ‘Tidal’ closes with a deep driving progressive 4/4 beat.

The Servia EP is an eclectic display of the intelligent and expansive sound of ag., which is reminiscent of the likes of Bonobo, Four Tet and Burial.

Regarding the EP ag. say, “The Servia EP is our first record which we haven’t tried to direct towards any specific genre, we sat down together as solo artists and decided to move away from the music we were making before. We were producing music to please others and not necessarily creating anything that represented us fully. We jammed in a small student room on Servia Road in Leeds and within a few hours we decided this direction was right, something sparked and we formed ag. Our debut EP consists of different sounds and textures taking inspiration from both live and electronica.”

ag. is the collaborative project of Ross Quinn and Andrew Goddard. The pair came together off the back of successful solo production and DJ careers, which have seen them play shows across the globe.

Calling upon their experience of clubland, live music, songwriting and production, as ag. they deliver artful electronic music suited to dance floors and live stages around the world. As well as production, the pair bring their energy to the stage with both a full band and DJ sets.

With the forthcoming release of their debut EP Servia, ag. look set to put a firm stamp on electronic music today as they cross boundaries in the forward thinking scene.

Norwegian Songstress ISELIN Releases New Single ‘Lost’

RELEASES NEW SINGLE
‘LOST’
SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD

Norwegian pop songstress Iselin has released her new single, ‘Lost’. A deeply personal track, it’s the follow up to her debut, ‘Bathtub’, released in June.

Heartfelt and affecting, ‘Lost’ builds through swelling, emotional verses into stripped back and honest choruses. Delicate, sweeping synths accompany Iselin’s vocals amid subtle production and infectious hooks, with haunting and poignant lyricism striking a touching chord.

“Lost is probably one of the most personal and emotional songs I’ve ever written,” says Iselin. “That terrifies me a bit to be honest, but at the same time it feels good to release something that just came straight from the heart. I wrote it with the amazing songwriters and producers Mad Fun (Fanny Hultman & Madeleine Eliasson), and it was a very special day for me in the studio. I think and hope the song speaks for itself, but mainly it’s about letting go of something that meant a lot to you, and how it affects you in so many ways when you know that part of your life is over.”

‘Lost’ is Iselin’s second solo release, following her debut single, ‘Bathtub’. Inspired by the same muse of honest lyricism that permeates her writing generally, the track was written about an emotionally tumultuous period of her life, and formed her own personal therapy. Throughout her writing, Iselin strives to create a universal and personal message that can be shared by her audience.

‘Lost’ and ‘Bathtub’ are the first releases from Iselin after she provided the vocals for Alan Walker’s huge hits ‘Faded’ and ‘Sing Me To Sleep’. Now returning with a wealth of new material, it’s clear that Iselin is ready to secure her place as a powerful new musical force.

FØNX | Reveals Video For New Single ‘Come On Over’

zzszx_4w

Ya’ll! I’m so excited to introduce you to a song I just know you’ll be adding to your playlists! I know I have! What a talented artist with an incredible voice.

Following a feature on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and playlisting in Zara stores globally; FØNX has revealed his self-directed DIY video for new single, ‘Come On Over,’ his latest offering of infectious, guitar driven soul-infused pop.

Filmed in his bedroom in the early hours of the morning with nothing but a camera and one mood light; FØNX captures the raw and intimate essence of his personal story of heart break.

As the track grows and synths start getting denser we see the video grow in energy with beautiful colors merging, creating overlays in each shot and FØNX becoming more uneasy with the situation.

‘Come on Over’ is the latest track FØNX has produced with Hugh Worskett (Rae Morris, Will Joseph Cook, Birdy).

A mix of jazzy guitar, smooth beats and growing electronic synths create the songs dreamy soundscape while FØNX’s tender vocals croon over a story of loss in love.
