Hey there, concert-goers!

Guess who spent 11 hours at Revolution Live on Monday because they’re the best aunt ever?? This girl right here! I’d bought my niece & I VIP tickets so she could meet PRETTYMUCH, and that pretty much (pun intended) included sitting outside the venue from 11 am until the show was done at almost 10 pm. In Florida. Where we don’t participate in gorgeous, chilly Fall weather. Nope. We sat (thankfully) in the shade with the sun glaring down around us for most of the day.

If you weren’t already aware, PRETTYMUCH is composed of Zion Kuwonu, Brandon Arreaga, Nick Mara, Austin Porter and Edwin Honoret. They were put together in 2016 by Syco Music founder, Simon Cowell and have been working extra hard to get their name out there in the music industry.

The “meet & greet” at our show started between 4:45 and 5 pm, and was a quicker experience than I thought it would be. I know that’s not up to the guys though, and all the girls seemed to appreciate what little time they did get with them, so we do as good family members do and shell out the cash to make them happy doing the things we didn’t get to do when we were younger. I happened to have bought myself a M&G ticket before I knew my niece had a friend coming down for the show, so I gave her my wristband so she could meet the guys.

After the meet & greet, fans with VIP tickets got to head inside of the venue early in order to score some merch and grab their spots as close to the stage as possible. I opted to stand where the parents were in order to avoid getting trampled by excited fans (believe me, I understand the excitement lol). Doors for those with GA admission entered the venue at about 6:30 and the show actually started at 7:30 with opening act, Gunnar Gehl.

Gunnar was great at hyping up the crowd before PRETTYMUCH hit the stage. He had a mix of upbeat songs and slow, acoustic songs, as well as a medley of covers that the crowd knew and loved.

PRETTYMUCH hit the stage at about 8:30 to hundreds of high-pitched screaming fans that couldn’t wait to catch their favorites up close. I have to admit, I’ve been to A LOT of live shows in my life so far and this had to be one of the most lit crowds I’ve experienced. From the moment the guys stepped on-stage, the energy level was through the roof. If you’ve ever watched their performances on YouTube (I’ve seen plenty), you know that that’s their reputation. Their performance level is always beyond 100. What I like about watching them perform is that rather than trying to be completely in sync with their dancing, they each do the choreography in their own respective styles. There’s just something different about them that I think really resonates with their fans. They dress different, they dance different, they are different and that’s a great message to spread to their young fans. They’re not a cookie-cutter boy band and they’re likely not going anywhere for a while! Which is cool because even though I’m 34, I actually really like their music and their dancing  (don’t judge me).

While performing, there were huge bursts of smoke that shot out over the crowd when the beat dropped, which only seemed to hype the fans up even more. Their set was about 1 hour – 1 hour and 15 minutes of non-stop excitement and I definitely recommend checking out one of their shows if you can.

Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Ralph Breaks the Internet” on Nov. 16. The soundtrack features original songs “A Place Called Slaughter Race” performed in the film by Sarah Silverman and Gal Gadot;  “Zero,” written and performed by Imagine Dragons; score by composer Henry Jackman (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Big Hero 6”), and “In This Place,” a pop version of “A Place Called Slaughter Race,” performed by Julia Michaels.  Directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston, produced by Clark Spencer and featuring the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Gal Gadot and Taraji P. Henson, “Ralph Breaks the Internet” hits U.S. theatres on Nov. 21.

The soundtrack and film feature “A Place Called Slaughter Race,” featuring Sarah Silverman, voice of Vanellope von Schweetz.   In the vein of classic “I want” songs in the Disney canon such as “Someday My Prince Will Come” and “Part of Your World,” the song showcases Vanellope’s desire to be part of the world outside Sugar Rush—to grow as a racer and as a person.  The song also features the singing debut of Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) as Shank.  The music was composed by Oscar®-winning songwriter/composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pocahontas” and “Aladdin”) and the lyrics were written by Phil Johnston and GRAMMY®-winning producer Tom MacDougall (Frozen; Executive Vice President, Music at Disney).

The multi-platinum, GRAMMYwinning band, Imagine Dragons, wrote and recorded the end-credit song “Zero” for the film, embracing the struggle Ralph has with his evolving friendship with Vanellope. According to Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds, the film’s emotional themes are reflected in the song. “It’s a pretty timely movie in a lot of ways in that it addresses some of the issues of identity and loneliness unique to this internet generation,” says Reynolds. “Ralph’s internal struggle for self-acceptance really resonated with us, and this song speaks to that.”  “Zero” is also featured on the band’s upcoming fourth studio album Origins available November 9.

Composer Henry Jackman, who scored 2012’s “Wreck-It Ralph,” returns to score the follow-up.

Jackman’s mission was to create a score that’s reminiscent of the first film, while embracing the new story and the vast, uncharted new world of the internet that Ralph and Vanellope must navigate to retrieve a part to save her game.   Says Jackman, “‘Wreck-It Ralph’ is one of the best animated films of recent times and I was really proud of the score. What makes this one different? There’s a clue in the title, ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’—we’ve moved from the arcade to the internet. While we can retain some of the original material, there’s a new layer we had to create and integrate. There’s a distinction between arcade electronica and internet electronica, which sounds more modern.”

“There’s so many fun things to enjoy,” continues Jackman. “But I think the universality comes from the fact that it’s an important archetypal friendship story. Hidden behind all of this amazing technology and imagery is something very solid emotionally and narratively.”

Filmmakers called on GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Julia Michaels to perform the second end-credit song, “In This Place,” a pop version of “A Place Called Slaughter Race.”   “I think one of my favorite things about ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ is Vanellope,” says Michaels, “because she’s just completely misunderstood. I think a lot of people feel that way—misunderstood—and go through life trying to find their power. And when they find it, it’s really beautiful.”

Network Initiatives for Last Phase of Midterm Election Campaign “+1 the Vote”
Include Celebrity PSAs, Parties at the Polls Across the Country and More

MTV kicked off the final phase of its first ever midterm campaign, “+1 the Vote,” by announcing a series of new initiatives and plans for an “Election Afterparty” at Miami Dade College (MDC) on Tuesday, November 6th from 7PM to 10PM ET. The event is set to be the largest youth-focused election party in the country and will feature performances by Fat Joe, PRETTYMUCH, DJ Nasty and Lauren Jauregui. The “Afterparty” kicks off when the polls close in Florida and will celebrate the efforts of young people across the nation getting out the vote.

“+1 the Vote” was created in order to harness the power of friendship and ignite the most powerful voting bloc in the country. As part of the final phase of the campaign, MTV and Civic Nation’s #VoteTogether – with support from “Grown-ish” star Yara Shahidi and “Eighteenx18” – partnered to supercharge youth voter participation by funding parties at the polls in all 50 states. The first party took place on October 20th in Fresno, CA, and attracted hundreds of young voters, and similar events are planned for the weeks leading to the “Election Afterparty.”

Additionally, the youth brand will roll out a series of new Spanish-language PSAs encouraging young people to register and vote, and launch an interactive election map profiling young candidates and activists across the country. MTV News launched its explainer series highlighting leading artists and celebrities breaking down the importance of the midterm elections – the first of which includes Olympic star Adam Rippon. They will continue to roll out videos through election night that will feature Macklemore, R&B Duo Chloe & Halle, and Lauren Jauregui.

Parlophone Records will continue their reissues series of the IRON MAIDEN catalogue with The Studio Collection – Remastered, covering the band’s sixteen-strong studio albums across their career to date.

Following on from 2014/2017’s black vinyl releases and 2015’s Mastered for iTunes project, The Studio Collection – Remastered will be released on the Digipak CD format, with the track listing matching the original UK releases. The recordings are taken from the same remasters as the 2015 hi-res digital releases. The albums will be released chronologically in batches of four, across a nine month period superseding the previously available studio catalogue and all titles will also be made available on streaming platforms. As a bonus for collectors, one CD from each batch of releases will also be optionally available in a specially artworked box featuring a 1:24 scale figurine and exclusive patch. In the November 16th batch, this will be The Number Of The Beast.

Maiden founder member and bassist Steve Harris says, “We’ve wanted to revisit these for a long time and I was delighted with the remastering we did in 2015. I thought it was the best that our albums have ever sounded and it was only right that we made them available on CD now too.”

SYNOPSIS: Old school magic meets the modern world in the epic adventure THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING. Ahead of their huge U.S. tour supporting Mike Shinoda, Don Broco have shared a new video for ‘The Blues’, as well as announcing new headline dates in Europe.

Featuring footage from their extensive touring this year, including Warped Tour and the band’s European dates with 30 Seconds To Mars and Mike Shinoda, the video sees the band laying waste to festival stages and having a lot of FUN around the world.

“We had an absolute blast this summer,” says singer Rob Damiani. “Getting to experience Warped Tour on its last ever run, especially us playing it for the first time, was an insane few weeks we’ll never forget. We got back to the UK just in time for Reading & Leeds and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better set of homecoming shows. It was a mad weekend at our fave fest in the world. Straight after that we headed to Europe for some big ol’ gigs with 30 Seconds To Mars and Mike Shinoda and got to play some places for the very first time (shoutout Poland!) We couldn’t fit anywhere near it all into three and a half minutes, but we tried and hope you enjoy our vid for ‘The Blues’. To everyone that caught us live this summer thank you and we’ll be seeing you all very soon!”

Don Broco embark on a huge North American tour as main support for Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda next week, starting in Montreal and including dates in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco amongst many others.

They then continue their World Tour with some very special dates with MAN WITH A MISSION in Asia, before kicking off 2019 with a headline run through Europe, starting in Madrid on January 19th.

These dates come ahead of the band’s biggest UK headline tour to date in February, which will see them play arenas around the country, including a date at London’s SSE Wembley Arena, and two shows at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse, one of which has already sold out.

The band have now announced the release of the final remaining tickets for the Wembley Arena show, which are on sale now and available here.

Bristol-based artist George Glew has released his new single, ‘Higher’, the first to be taken from his upcoming EP, Vol. 2, and the follow up to this year’s Vol. 1.

The track premiered with Clash, who called it “a deft fusion of emotive songwriting and dappled electronics… a confident step forward, rooted in that broad, affecting vocal, and the sparse, subtle arrangement.” A delicate blend of minimalist guitars and vocal harmonies, ‘Higher’ builds from subtle fragility to soaring crescendos, an uplifting and transcendent sonic journey taking in soulful vocals, captivating production and infectious, stirring choruses.

“Through the past couple of years I’ve been through some of the biggest challenges personally,” explains George. “The song is about togetherness and how, through bonds in friends and family, we can really face and take on that adversity.”

The track is the first in a series of releases that will form his new EP, Vol. 2, due for release in Spring 2019. It finds George exploring collaboration more than his previous releases, seeing him writing and producing with friends rather than writing alone, seeking to share the moment created in the music.

“I changed my approach to writing by just wanting the music to make me feel something rather than it being a well-crafted song,” says George.

This new approach has become a muse for his musical progression; a catalyst for finding a new sound which permeates his upcoming releases.

The new track follows the release of his latest EP, Vol. 1, which has over 2.2 million plays on Spotify alone. George has supported the likes of Tom Walker, Lewis Capaldi, Marsicans, Sea Girls and Dennis Lloyd, and his previous releases have seen acclaim from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Dork and Clash, as well as radio support from Annie Mac, John Kennedy, Elton John and a feature on Apple Music’s A-List.

Regarding the single Libby says, “I wrote ‘New Boy’ about my friend who kept going back to a boy who treated her badly, and he’d only become interested again once she’d left him. Actor Javier Botet enjoyed embodying the legendary SLENDER MAN

The unique look of actor Javier Botet made him a perfect fit for the lead role of slender man in Sony Pictures’ “Slender Man.”

Having made an impact in the horror genre as the actor behind several monsters in movie franchises, Botet wasn’t surprised to be offered the role of Slender man, but he was thrilled at the opportunity to play a monster that is widely known.

Having known the legend of Slender man, Botet felt that his experience in the horror industry and his look being so similar to that of what Slender man is supposed to look like, he was the ideal person to embody the character.

All horror movies look to cast the best person to play the monsters and the search for slender man lead to Botet who already had the physique for the character.

No horror movie is complete without the right cast, the characters that are stalked by the Slender man are fantastically casted and create the realistic feeling of friendship.

Botet had to go through a makeup process to get the look down, but feels that the story is much more than what the source material was and the character was already larger than life.

With so much source material – from shorts and indie films to a documentary on crimes attributed to Slender man – the makeup helped make the character, but the background research and the writing made the character what it was in the movie, Botet learned many things about the legend of Slender man which added pressure to the task of playing the role of Slender man.

Being over prepared made the task of playing Slender man in a terrifying manner difficult but enjoyable, Botet said, but the prior experience as the monsters he has embodied made him feel prepared to take on the task of Slender man.

MTV will harness the power of friendship and unveil “+1 the Vote,” its first-ever voter campaign to ignite the most powerful voting bloc in the country for the midterm elections.

Based on research which suggests that social influence is a strong motivator in voter turnout, the cornerstone of the campaign is the +1 the Vote Registration Tool, a first-of-its-kind digital experience which will allow young people to register to vote, identify which of their friends aren’t registered to vote, and encourage them to register and join them at the polls on November 6th. Additionally, MTV will encourage its audience to vote together by supercharging youth participation with more than 1,000 parties and events at the polls across all 50 states.

“Our audience relies on their friends in both the smallest and most meaningful moments in their lives,” said Chris McCarthy, President of MTV.  “+1 the Vote is designed to draw on the power of friendship to turn out the youth vote and impact this critical midterm election.”

“+1 the Vote” launched with an all-new promo spot featuring Jared Leto, Lauren Jauregui from Fifth Harmony, Fat Joe and Adam Rippon introducing the campaign, a website, and the +1 the Vote Registration tool. In the months leading up to the elections, “+1 the Vote” will expand to include content across MTV, its digital platforms, social channels; ongoing coverage from MTV News; and partnerships with leading artists and activists. MTV worked with a number of non-partisan organizations to bring “+1 the Vote” to life, including the Ford Foundation, Alliance for Youth Organizing, CIRCLE, part of Tisch College at Tufts University, Democracy Works’s TurboVote and #VoteTogether.

“+1 the Vote” was developed based on MTV/AP-NORC research showing that young people feel a renewed sense of empowerment in their ability to impact politics — 48% of 15-22-year-olds feel they have at least some effect on the government, up from 33% in March – and that friendship is a powerful driver of voter turnout. Additional MTV research found that that 76% of young people think inviting friends to the polling station is an effective way to encourage others to vote, while 70% think posting about voting on social media is also effective.
