BANG BANG ROMEO Unveil Astonishing Debut EP, Shame On You – Out Now

BANG BANG ROMEO

IMG_1826

RELEASE SHAME ON YOU EP
ON FIVE SEVEN MUSIC

UK trio Bang Bang Romeo are celebrating the release of their Shame On You EP, which is out now via Five Seven Music.

Having recently signed a worldwide deal with the label as part of the Eleven Seven Music Label Group, in August the three-piece performed a very special showcase in London to mark the release before they joined the eccentric Electric Six for a show at Nambucca.

Speaking about the EP, vocalist Anastasia “Stars” Walker reveals, “This is a biggy, isn’t it?  I mean, this EP includes songs that myself and Ross wrote when we were pretty much just kids, writing down lyrics at 3am whilst not catching up on enough sleep for school the next day, to songs we wrote in the land of Hollywood just round the corner from Sunset Boulevard in the Spring of 2018.

This EP represents a journey of hard work, passion, uncompromising belief and a hell of a lot of fun. From myself and the boys, on listening to the EP, enjoy, laugh, cry and love, we know we did. Here’s to the future and WELCOME to the BBRMY”.

The EP opens with the title-track and recent breakthrough single ‘Shame On You’, which has already amassed over 150,000 YouTube views for the video and has been played at Radio X, 6 Music, MTV Rocks and more.

Also featuring is the uplifting ‘Cemetery’ followed by the show-stopping ‘Adore Me’, which soars to a grand performance with Stars’ vocal finesse taking centre stage, perfectly wrapped in euphoric guitar lines and solid drums. The empowering ‘Bag Of Bones’ reflects on recognising self-worth while EP closer ‘Chemical’ echoes the band’s larger-than-life quality and ability to transpire emotion to their listeners.

Bang Bang Romeo have spent the summer playing festivals, shows and Pride events up and down the country, impressing crowds with their stunning live performances and theatrical indie pop-rock.

Fronted by the extraordinary vocal powerhouse Stars – who is a charismatic performer in the lineage of Stevie Nicks, Adele, Beth Ditto and Florence Welch – and backed up by Ross Cameron (guitars) and Richard Gartland (drums), the Doncaster outfit were personally invited by legendary promoter John Giddings to open the Main Stage for the Isle of Wight 50th Anniversary and played to the biggest opening crowd the festival has ever had. Giddings called their performance “legendary” and dubbed them the “best new act anywhere in the World”.

They also played at this year’s Tramlines festival, Kendall Calling and Vicar’s Picnic, and headlined stages at Truck Fest and Y-Not Festivals, as well as Leeds and Doncaster Pride, which the band are extremely proud to be a part of. They also made appearances at Goat Festival, Victorious festival and topped the City Hall Lawns stage at Cardiff Pride in August.

Hotly tipped by the likes of The Independent, Metro, NME, Clash Magazine, Louder Than War and fronted by one of today’s most inspiring and unrivalled vocal talents, Bang Bang Romeo are amongst the hottest breaking bands on the scene and will be releasing their debut album later this year.

Alt Pop Band EXNATIONS Glow On Debut EP “Tiny Sound In The Dark”

IMG_1831

Alternative pop trio EXNATIONS bring light to a darkness on their debut EP “Tiny Sound In The Dark,” out NOW. The band, comprised of Sal Mastrocola, Taylor Hughes, and John O’Neill, combines two obviously opposite emotions in their music and meshes them together to create a relatable (and danceable) sound. Although self-defined as a ‘sad’ band, their color palette remains pastel, splashing hues of pale pink and aquamarine throughout their graphics, seemingly representing the dance-able side to their music (and exploring the clear contrast between both emotions). Dream-like, somewhat hazy, synthy; “Tiny Sound In The Dark” is a more-than-promising debut release, laced with sparkle and anticipation. The elements of pop music are clear, but what’s even more fascinating about EXNATIONS is the anthemic sense of empowerment the trio produces on their first effort. To promote the EP release, EXNATIONS has a string of four EP
release shows
this month to promote “Tiny Sound In the Dark,” sponsored by idobi radio’s Spinning Thoughts. About the release of “Tiny Sound In The Dark”, the band states:

“Tiny Sound in the Dark is the most immediate collection of songs I’ve ever had a hand in. The band gave ourselves permission to lean into the unabashed energy and aesthetic of our favorite pop music in a way that still feels true to where we came from. As a guy who has been in punk and emo bands for my whole life, the sounds, textures, and themes we explored on this record brought such a jolt of new energy and enthusiasm to my songwriting process. This EP is the first of many permutations of that enthusiasm and love. We hope you love it”

EXNATIONS are a sad yet danceable brand of guitar-flecked synth pop out of Brooklyn, NY and Baltimore, MD. The group consists of members Sal Mastrocola vocals/guitar/synth), Taylor Hughes (drums/synth) and John O’Neil (bass). Their debut EP, “Tiny Sound In The Dark” is available HERE.

HEADLINE LONDON SHOW TONIGHT (SEPT 4th)
SERVANT JAZZ QUARTERS

**SOLD OUT**

NOVEMBER HEADLINE SHOW ANNOUNCED
ST. PANCRAS OLD CHURCH, LONDON – NOV 12th

Archie Faulks has released the video for his debut single ‘It Rains’. The video for the solemn love song finds Archie in a deserted school as two dancers perform around him.

The song features haunting strings among stunning alt-folk and Archie’s irresistible croon. It’s been getting early support from Radio X, with John Kennedy a particularly big fan of Archie at the station.

Regarding the single Archie says, “I wrote ‘It Rains’ about a dying but once great relationship. All we do now is fight and get back together again; with the memories of the glory days being the only thing bringing us back to each other. The song is the realization of this but wanting to retreat to ‘our place’ and cling on for a few more days in the vague hope that we can regain an element of the past and not let us be washed away by the flood.”

Continuing about the video he says, “For the video we wanted something that reflected the song’s feel. Smooth, understated and introspective. Theo, the director, used a combination of 16mm film and digital shots to create a warm aesthetic throughout.”

‘It Rains’ is the debut single from Archie Faulks, who first rose to prominence under the moniker Tenterhook. As Tenterhook he enjoyed tearaway success over the course of two EPs, which spawned radio hits, saw him become a worldwide No.1 on Hype Machine, and clock up millions of plays on Spotify.

Archie Faulks’ return with ‘It Rains’ has been met by a rabid response from fans. It led him to sell out his first ever London headline show way in advance and he will play to a completely sold out Servant Jazz Quarters tonight (Sept 4th).

With the release of the ‘It Rains’ video and the sold out Servant Jazz Quarters, Archie has just announced his next London show. He will headline the stunning St Pancras Old Church on November 12th. Tickets are on-sale now via Music Glue.

PRESENTS
THE NEW TRAILER FOR NICOLE HOLOFCENER’S

IMG_1825Directed by | Nicole Holofcener
Written by | Nicole Holofcener
Produced by | Anthony Bregman, Stefanie Azpiazu, Nicole Holofcener
Starring | Ben Mendelsohn, Edie Falco, Thomas Mann, Elizabeth Marvel, Bill Camp, Charlie Tahan, and Connie Britton

SYNOPSIS: Writer/director Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said, Friends with Money) brings us a drama about parenting, loss and the consequences of our self-destructive behavior.  The story features a deeply flawed male protagonist whose tragic mistakes impact and inform the complex relationships in his life.  Far from a recognizable tale of a middle-aged rake in crisis, this is an emotionally resonant portrait of a fractured family explored by one of our most keenly observant directors.

Feeling trapped in the stifling, wealthy enclave of Westport, Connecticut, Anders Hill (Ben Mendelsohn) retires from his job in finance and leaves his wife (Edie Falco) in the hopes that it will renew his lust for life. However, he’s quickly faced with the startling reality of his choices; he spends his days looking for things to decorate his empty shelves, sleeping with strangers and feeling terribly lost.

Missing his ex-wife and on the outs with his troubled 27-year-old son (Thomas Mann), Anders befriends a drug-addicted teen (Charlie Tahan), sending him down a path of reckless and of deeply regrettable behavior. His shameful actions cause him to question who he is as a father and, ultimately, who he is as a person.

Adapting her screenplay  from Ted Thompson’s 2014 novel, The Land of Steady Habits also stars Connie Britton, Elizabeth Marvel and Bill Camp.

SHALLOW POOLS Rise Above Water In New Single “Sinking”

IMG_1757
Photo: shallow pools

In contrast to the track’s title, Boston-based alt pop/rock trio shallow pools stay high above water with their new single “Sinking,” out NOW. The follow up to their debut single “It’s A You Thing.”, which was released earlier this summer, “Sinking” focus on the daily struggles that come with general anxiety. Their sound continues to expand on influences of both pop rock and alternative, while maintaining meaningful (and painstakingly relatable) lyrics. shallow pools has kept busy as of lately – the trio has played a slew of shows with national touring acts, such as Smartpunk Records’ RIVALS, around the state of Massachusetts, premiering their upcoming Fall EP tracks to new audiences.

“Sinking” kicks off with a pulsing guitar riff, demonstrating the band’s clear
alternative inspirations, but quickly mellows out throughout the verses, eerily replicating the emotional rollercoaster experienced in anxiety. It’s clear that shallow pools knows what they’re advocating, but especially seeing as the band strives to promote inclusivity in their art, the trio are undeniably authentic in their lyricism and instrumentation. Recorded at Reclaim Studios, the trio hopes to continue promoting their brand of inclusion through their 5-track EP later this fall. About the release of “Sinking”, the band states:

““Sinking” is about the struggles of dealing with anxiety and the challenges it brings on
a daily basis. The song explores the fear of opening up to others and asking for help.”

shallow pools is a three-piece alternative/pop rock band from Massachusetts consisting of Jess Gromada (guitar), Glynnis Brennan (vocals, bass), and Ali Ajemian (drums). The trio became friends in 2012, and started out playing acoustic covers for fun around their hometown. In early 2016, the group decided it was time to give songwriting a shot. They released an EP under a different name and played at notable Boston venues including the Middle East Downstairs and Upstairs, O’Brien’s, and the Hard Rock. As the group continued to evolve and grow sonically and aesthetically, a change in name was inevitable and in April of 2018 shallow pools surfaced.

With a combination of rhythmic guitar, catchy melodies, and expressive lyrics, shallow pools offers a unique sound that bridges the gap between alternative and pop rock. They use music as a form of therapy, and lyrically draw inspiration from their own hardships ranging from loss, to strained relationships, to depression and anxiety. The group wants to establish a welcoming environment for people of all ages, sexualities, and gender identities. They understand the importance of LGBTQIA+ and female representation and hope that embracing their own identities will inspire others to do the same. After solidifying a new name and musical direction, the trio recorded with Chris Curran at Reclaim Music Studios in Thompson, CT. shallow pools released their debut single “It’s A You Thing.” in mid-July. Shortly after the release of  “It’s A You Thing.,” shallow pools will be opening for national touring acts such as VISTA and Walkney. “Sinking” is out NOW.

Halloween Horror Nights” begins on September 14.

At its core, “Halloween Horror Nights” is an extension of the horror film legacy originated by Universal Pictures and introduced to audiences in the 1920s…with a staple of classic Universal Monsters that dominated the silver screen, including Dracula, The Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein’s Monster and The Wolf Man.

“Halloween Horror Nights” continues to pay homage to these creatures of the night in this new maze by reawakening more than a dozen of these iconic classic Monsters.

“As a fan of horror movies and of ‘Halloween Horror Nights,’ I jumped at the chance to once again collaborate with Universal Studios Hollywood to produce what might be interpreted as a soundtrack for the maze,” SLASH said. “Similar to the way music affects afilm, I wanted to compose a score for the legions of infamous characters featured in the maze to elicit a greater sense of terror for the guests. In the end, the goal is to ultimately make the guests feel as if they are playing an integral role in a classic Monster movie.”

“This maze is the ultimate melding of two of history’s greatest icons – classic monsters and the top guitar player of all time,” John Murdy, Creative Director at Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of “Halloween Horror Nights,” said. “SLASH’s intuitive understanding of the characters’ struggles brings enormous depth to the maze to epitomize a living-movie experience for our guests.

Credits include three-time Academy Award-nominated “Sicario” (directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, and Josh Brolin), “Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado” (directed by Stefano Sollima, starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin), “12 Strong” (directed by Nicolai Fuglsig, starring Chris Hemsworth, Michael Shannon and
Michael Peña), “Only the Brave” (directed by Joseph Kosinski, starring Josh Brolin and Miles Teller), “Demolition” (directed by Jean Marc Vallée, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts), “71” (directed by Yann Demange, starring Jack O’Connell), “The Good Lie”
(directed by Philippe Falardeau, starring Reese Witherspoon), and “Rebel in the Rye” (directed by Danny Strong, starring Nicholas Hoult). BLM also acquired an interest in “Begin Again” (written/directed by John Carney, starring Kiera Knightley and Mark Ruffalo). They also co-financed and Executive Produced the Academy Award-winning “La La Land” with Lionsgate.  Up next on the BLM slate is Peter Sattler’s “Love & Oatmeal” starring Ben Platt and Lola Kirke.

NEW ALBUM THE FUTURE OUT NOW

From Ashes to New have released their new music video for ‘Broken’, the follow-up single to their hit ‘Crazy’, which recently reached #2 on the U.S. Rock Radio chart. The track conveys a message of perseverance and believing in yourself when others try to push you down and hold you back in life. It’s a recurring theme in their music which is very personal to the band.

Their debut album Day One earned the band a Top 10 track at Rock Radio with the single ‘Through It All’.  Following  an extensive album cycle,  the band’s original drummer and co-vocalist both abruptly left the band. Rather than focusing on the setbacks, From Ashes to New forged ahead with a new energy and purpose.

The band, now comprised of frontman/rapper/programmer Matt Brandyberry, guitarist Lance Dowdle, vocalist Danny Case, and drummer Mat Madiro (Trivium) released their second album, The Future earlier this year, via Eleven Seven Music.

The band is touring the U.S. extensively for the rest of the year, with a headline run throughout September and October and are working on plans for a European tour in early 2019.

In addition to their U.S. headline tour, they will be opening for Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin on their autumn arena tour and will also be performing at several festivals, as well as providing direct support for Stone Sour and Papa Roach on select dates. SHINE Set To Release Nationwide on October 5th

Forgiven Films Announces SHINE Release Date, Trailer and Film Poster

Forgiven Films, a division of GVN Releasing, launched the first full-length trailer and film poster for “SHINE” on August 21.

The film will be released in theaters nationwide on October 5.

“SHINE” won the audience award for best feature at last year’s Urbanworld Film Festival.

The story revolves around two brothers (Saldivar and Burgos), once celebrated Salsa dancers, who are separated after a tragedy only to be reunited years later on opposing sides of gentrification.

The film was directed and written by Anthony Nardolillo, via his 13 Paces Productions and produced with Sandra Varona of Varona Productions, in partnership with Sugar Studios LA and The Exchange.

“SHINE” is being distributed by Forgiven Films, a division of GVN Releasing.
