ANNOUNCES LIVE SHOWS
8TH APRIL – CLWB IFOR BACH, CARDIFF
9TH APRIL – CAMDEN ASSEMBLY, LONDON

Hannah Grace has shared the video for her new single, ‘With You’, as well as announcing two shows at London’s Camden Assembly and Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach in April.

A vibrant palette of color and emotional sentiment and an atmospheric and touching interpretation of the track, the video visualizes the healing power of companionship and the importance of being there for those in need.

“The music video for ‘With You’ was inspired by the Japanese art ‘Kintsugi’ – repairing broken objects with gold,” explains Hannah. “As a philosophy it treats breakage as part of the history of an object rather than something to disguise or hide and I just love this! I wanted to also get this idea across through movement. With the help of an amazing choreographer Simon we put together some movements that convey my friends being there for me when I’m broken and the routine shows them pulling me through, holding & physically supporting me.  I’ve always wanted to move in a music video and it was amazing to get to work with such great dancers!”

Already proving a radio hit, including hitting the A-List on BBC Radio Wales, ‘With You’ is a bold demonstration of Hannah’s jaw-dropping soulful vocals among a stirring jazz-influenced backing of horns, piano and beautiful harmonies.

‘With You’ follows the release of her single ‘Oh River’ last year. The beautiful ballad saw Hannah stun listeners with her incredible vocals, which saw the likes of Dermot O’Leary and his team clear space on his Radio 2 show to share her voice. She’s also appeared on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show and Zoe Ball’s ITV programme, in addition to a slot at the BBC Biggest Weekend for Radio 2 in Perth, Scotland.

Hannah Grace closed 2018 with the release of the collaborative Christmas EP December alongside Gabrielle Aplin. The lead single and title track featured on 14 ‘New Music Friday’ Spotify playlists, and was spotlighted in the UK and US Top 10, as well as being played on Radio 2. The EP also featured three beautiful covers of classic Christmas tracks.

Hannah first caught the attention of Never Fade label owner Gabrielle Aplin through her covers uploaded onto YouTube. Her covers have since gone on to win over even more high profile supporters and Gabrielle signed her to Never Fade Records, which is distributed worldwide by AWAL.

In 2017 Hannah garnered praise from Lady Gaga after posting a cover of her hit ‘Million Reasons’, which provoked Gaga to tweet the video and call Hannah a “superstar”. Meanwhile in the same year her cover of ‘Praise You’ soundtracked the Lloyds Bank TV advert and clocked up over 3 million streams.

Hannah Grace kicks off 2019 with the latest taste of brand new music in the shape of ‘With You’. Her show stopping performance sets the precedent for the year ahead when she is set to turn even more heads.

RELEASES BLACK MIRROR-INSPIRED VIDEO FOR

‘GIMME’

EXPLORING TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS WITH SOCIAL MEDIA

WATCH HERE

UK HEADLINE TOUR IN FEBRUARY
PLAYING BUSH HALL, LONDON – MARCH 1ST

Alt-pop newcomer Megan Davies has released a Black Mirror-inspired video for her new single ‘Gimme’, which visually explores the toxicities within social media outlets.

Having first gained success via YouTube herself, Megan came up with the concept of the video born out of the things you see happening online every day. Playing out scenes of make-up tutorials, gaming fails to epic guitar solos, Megan is enticed into entering this freakish world where users are caught up in the obsessions of being liked, followed and becoming a YouTube star.

The video premiered with Celebmix where Megan explained, “The concept of the video began as “YouTuber Purgatory”, where creators get trapped by the online persona they create.  It’s something that I’ve feared for myself as a YouTuber. It’s easy to get boxed in as a musician – whether your platform is a show like American Idol or doing covers on YouTube. Before you know it, everything you create is dictated by the image that’s been curated online. It can be a struggle to maintain authenticity.”

Megan’s creative acoustic covers and mashups rapidly gained traction online as her YouTube views and subscribers grew in their millions. Tracks like her three-song mashup ‘See You Again/ Love Me Like You Do/ Sugar’ has had over 60 million video plays and reached #1 on both the US and Global Spotify Viral 50 charts.

She’s now amassed over 190 million views and 1.3 million subscribers on her YouTube channel alone and she maintains over 6 million Spotify streams each month.

Breaking out from covers, Megan first introduced fans to her gorgeous alt-pop style with her 2017 debut EP Bad Poetry which was released independently and has clocked up over 3 million Spotify streams with the title track getting a lot of love from Sirius XM.

Hotly tipped as one to watch by the likes of Billboard, she has gone on to release the tracks ‘Doesn’t Matter’, which won 1st Place in the USA Songwriting Competition – Pop Category, ‘Moonlight’ which has racked-up close to 1 million streams and the new single ‘Gimme’, which debuted on nine Spotify playlists across the globe upon its release in November.

Megan is a genuine and relatable artist with strong songwriting skills and is now building her presence as a live artist having recently toured across the US supporting YouTube heavyweights Boyce Avenue and shared stages with the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Madilyn Bailey and Noah Guthrie and Striking Matches.

Later this month she will be back in the UK on her headline tour where she will play Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff and London before heading off across Europe.

MAT KEREKES Shares New Single ‘Diamonds’

IMG_6996IMG_6972

Best known as the lead vocalist of the cult alt-rock band Citizen, the Ohio-based singer-songwriter Mat Kerekes has shared his new single ‘Diamonds’. The track is the second single to be taken from his from upcoming solo album Ruby after the title track was released in December.

Mixing the intimate with the anthemic, ‘Diamonds’ transcends the lo-fi, acoustic-based recording style of his previous solo releases in favour of a sharper pop edge that offers a modern take on timeless rock sonics.

‘Diamonds’ is accompanied by a surreal music video directed by Johnny Chew (Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Bronx).

The album ‘Ruby’ finds Kerekes showcasing his versatility as a singer-songwriter. Incorporating elements of pop and alternative, it boasts massive choruses, dynamic arrangements and infectious melodies.

‘Diamonds’ is released on Black Cement Records in the States, the label headed by Will Yip (producer of Turnstile, Angel Du$t and many more), and via Parlophone in the UK.

Mat Kerekes will hit the road on a month-long North American tour which commences at the end of the month. Support comes from Jetty Bones and Jacob Sigman. Please see http://matkerekes.com/ for full dates and ticket information.

NY-Based Alt Rock Band BROOKLINE Premiere New Single “Sinking”

IMG_6970

NY-based alternative rock band Brookline have released their new single “Sinking,” out NOW. The second single off of their upcoming EP “Fade” (out 2/22), “Sinking” sings an emotional narrative, touching upon themes of heartbreak and addiction. Elements of hard rock and pop punk are meshed together in the track, creating a unique blend that hints at influences of 90’s alternative. With an upcoming music video planned for “Sinking,” Brookline is also gearing up for the release of “Fade,” which will take new listeners on an emotional ride. About the single, the band states:

“Sinking” is the 2nd single off of Brookline’s Fade EP and tells the story of a relationship torn apart by addiction. The chorus hook “like a ship at sea you’re sinking, and I can’t be your lighthouse beacon” embodies the theme of the song; that although this person clearly needs help, their partner can no longer handle being subjected to their self destructive behavior and has to leave for their own good.

A five piece alternative rock band from upstate New York, Brookline features Mikey Pace (guitar), Dave Bennet (guitar), Matt Spinner (bass), Chris Fox (drums), and Tommy Carter (vocals). Formed in 2018, the group has mixed influence from pop punk and emo to post-hardcore and 90’s alternative rock. In late 2018, they announced the upcoming release of their second EP “Fade,” recorded with Jake Mannix of Indigo Audio Co. “Fade” shows a large amount of growth in musicianship as well as lyrical content from the groups earlier work. Touching on personal experiences of heartbreak, and the struggles of drug/alcohol abuse, “Fade” uses a combination of explosive hard rock and melodic emo and alternative influence to express these themes to their listeners and is set to be released February 22, 2019.

The lead single off of “Fade,” titled “Sinking,” is available NOW on all digital platforms.

Hello, my loves!

I wanted to start off by saying that, for me, Valentine’s Day has never been the day that it is for most people. In high school, I had a rose gram sent to me by the guy who eventually ended up breaking my heart for the first time lol. Also in high school, I received a phone call from a juvenile detention center from a guy who made a habit out of stealing cars with his friends, but, to this day, treated ME better than anyone else had. At the time, I thought to myself, “Omg, this guy likes me that much that he’ll call me from juvi to wish me a Happy Valentine’s Day!” You know, instead of, like, not stealing cars and being with me in person?? Haha.

When my niece was born and started school, she used to make me the cutest little Valentine’s likes this one & it made my day better than anyone else’s in the world, I guarantee it.

IMG_6725
I always thought that if I did have a special man in my life, I’d be more appreciative of little gestures throughout the year as opposed to one day of the year where everyone thinks it’s necessary to do so. Maybe that’s my singleness showing haha. Either way, I don’t knock it for those who take it seriously, but it does kind of shine a light on those of us who haven’t had much luck in that department over the years. So, now that my niece is in high school and no longer makes me those adorable Valentines, I choose to do something special for myself. Even if it’s just buying myself some chocolate!

This Valentine’s Day, we were blessed with a new cover and music video from one of my favorite duos – SUPERFRUIT. Superfruit is composed of Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi from Pentatonix and they’re phenomenal. Their voices are SO good and their vibe is contagious. I posted yesterday about their announcement for the cover track that would be released today because they posted a picture teasing that they’d be joined by a special guest. Lo and behold, my guess on who that person was (Spoiler Alert: Adam Rippon) correct and I AM HERE FOR IT. If ever we needed a legendary trio, it’s now and it’s this one!

Side note: I had the pleasure of meeting Adam last year in South Florida for my 34th birthday and he was an absolute sweetheart!

I feel like a was tricked a bit because I thought Adam would be singing with them on the the cover of When In Rome’s “The Promise,” but he’s not. Adam skates beautifully on the ice while Scott & Mitch give off some serious 80’s vibes and incredible vocals!

So, for Valentine’s Day, I wanted to show some love and appreciation for anyone reading this and supporting my journey on the blog. Since I can’t send you all teddy bears and chocolate, my gift to you is my new favorite music video covering a song that was released in the decade I was born.

ENJOY your Valentine’s Day, whether it be with a loved one, with family or with YOURSELF! You’re not alone!

Excuse me while I go watch this video repeatedly for the rest of the day!

SUPERFRUIT Announces New Cover w/Mystery Collaborator – Cover To Be Released on 2/14

IMG_6704

In a series of cryptic social media posts, our favorite duo SUPERFRUIT (Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi from Pentatonix) has announced that they’ll be releasing a new cover on Valentine’s Day. They’ll be covering the classic 80’s song, “The Promise” by When In Rome — which my 80s loving heart is super excited about!

The duo first announced the cover, and then they posted a photo with three blocked out silhouettes. Then came a reveal that was not so surprising . . . Scott! Then Mitch! Now we’re left with one silhouette and a ton of questions! Who is the surprise collaborator??

Personally, you can’t convince me that that isn’t Adam Rippon. Like I’m 99% sure it’s him. First of all, has anyone else seen the video on YouTube of Adam skating and SINGING Rihanna’s “Diamonds” while being flawlessly Adam? If not, I shall make your day that much better and include that video below.

Check out the pics (& the video) and let me know who YOU think it is! Either way, I know this cover will be perfect, as usual. Because SUPERFRUIT.

Stay tuned to see who the mystery silhouette belongs to (I’m still positive that I’m correct though lol). I mean, it’s what we all deserve! Three legends being legendary!

EUROPEAN HEADLINE DATES IN MARCH

The Strumbellas have announced their fourth album, Rattlesnake, out March 29th via Glassnote Records. Last week the band released the video for ‘Salvation’, the first single to be taken from the album.

Rattlesnake marks a stylistic turn from their melancholy, introspective releases, to an uplifting album with songs that focus more on optimism. Produced by Tim Pagnotta (Elle King, Walk the Moon), co-produced and engineered by Brian Phillips, the album was recorded on the band’s home turf, at the legendary Bathouse Recording Studio outside of Kingston, Ontario, and at Revolution Recording in Toronto.

The nine-track body of work is the sunny side of the street follow-up to The Strumbellas’ Billboard-charting third album, Hope, which featured the hit single ‘Spirits’.

“Well, after the last tour, Izzy had a baby, I got an English Bulldog, Darryl travelled to Bali, Jon built a cottage, Jer drove all the way across Canada in his 85’ Camper Van, Dave grew a mustache and we made an album that we are REALLY proud of,” commented Simon Ward. “Everyone in the band is SO excited to get back on the road to show everyone some new music.”

The release of Rattlesnake will come after a string of European headline shows, including a show at London’s Bush Hall on the 25th, and will be followed by an extensive US headline tour starting on the 1st May. Full European dates can be found below.

The Strumbellas are Simon Ward (vocals, acoustic guitar), David Ritter (keys), Jeremy Drury (percussion), Isabel Ritchie (strings), Jon Hembrey (guitar) and Darryl James (bass).

In 2017, they won the iHeartRadio Music award for Best New Alternative Rock Artist of the Year, and collected the JUNO Award for Single of the Year in their native Canada ahead of Drake, The Weeknd and Shawn Mendes.

From the onset the band received critical praise from the press, including from The New York Times, who said “The Strumbellas have perfected a story arc that’s summed up in the title of their new album ‘Hope,” and Forbes, who declared “The Strumbellas aren’t just taking on the US, they are taking on the world.”

Rattlesnake Tracklist:
1) Salvation

FERRIS & SYLVESTER Release Dramatic New Single ‘Sickness’

IMG_6521FERRIS & SYLVESTER have released their brand new single ‘Sickness’. The blues/folk epic has launched with great support across the board. The single premiered with Clash and has also been featured as BBC Introducing’s ‘Upload Of The Week’.

The new single arrived as the critically acclaimed London duo performed at Eurosonic Festival in Holland on Jan 18th.

After the release and sudden success of their kitchen recorded and self-produced EP Made In Streatham last year, the duo have expanded their sound and songwriting into deeper and darker places with ‘Sickness’ alongside producer Michael Rendall (Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Echo & The Bunnymen).

The song builds from a quiet, self-destructive thought as though Issy Ferris is whispering in your ear, and becomes an outcry of both suffering and delight, led by Archie Sylvester’s powerful scorching guitar. With their combination of roots and blues, the duo deliver a sound which sits somewhere between Jack White and First Aid Kit.

Regarding the single Ferris & Sylvester say, “Sickness was one of the first songs we wrote together. It came quickly and felt powerful almost instantly. It’s about human relationships – the power and the frustration – and the desire to throw it all away.

“We recorded the track on our last day in the studio with Michael and continued into the early hours; it felt important to keep it raw and let the song speak for itself. Everything you hear was tracked live and a lot of it was recorded in one take, the guitar solo and vocals for instance. It’s our proudest piece of work to date.”

‘Sickness’ follows the release of the duo’s last single ‘Burning River’, which was also recorded with Michael Rendall and clocked up well over half a million plays in its first two months on Spotify. The songs were written during the pair’s writing trips to Iceland and find the band at their most raw and powerful yet.

IMG_6520

Ferris & Sylvester received strong support from BBC Music throughout last year, with radio plays coming from 6Music and Radio 2, while they also performed a number of shows in association with BBC Introducing who have now named the band in their ‘Best Of’ lists for both 2017 & 2018.

The great BBC Introducing support continues for Ferris & Sylvester in 2019. The band will be performing a live session at Maida Vale aired on Cerys Matthews’ Radio 2 Blues Show on Jan 28th. Ferris & Sylvester will also be joining Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq in Austin, Texas as they perform their debut BBC Music showcase at SXSW Festival on March 15th.

Last year Ferris & Sylvester won hearts and praise across the country as they played to thousands of people at huge shows with the likes of Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, George Ezra and Jade Bird, while also performing at major festivals including playing the main stage at Wilderness Festival and at BST in Hyde Park.

The band played their first live show of 2019 at Eurosonic Festival on January 18th, it comes ahead of the duo embarking on their first ever headline tour this month. It will see Ferris & Sylvester play nine-dates across the UK and Ireland, with a London headline show at The Lexington on February 11th. Full headline tour dates can be found below:

HAAS Comes To Life In Debut Single “Behind Those Eyes”

img_6415

Virginia-based pop/rock project HAAS have released their debut single, “Behind Those Eyes,” out on all digital platforms NOW. After an extensive about of self-discovery and reflection, lead vocalist Sam Haas brings the project to life through a reflective set of lyrics in “Behind Those Eyes.” With the track’s music video release to follow on February 12th, HAAS approaches the broad pop/rock genre with ease; “Behind Those Eyes” showcases pulsing, rhythmic guitars and powerful lead vocals, reminiscent of 2000’s artists Kelly Clarkson and The Veronicas. The single paves the way for HAAS’ five-track debut EP, due out later this year. About the single, lead vocalist Sam Haas states:

“Behind Those Eyes” is the debut single off HAAS’ upcoming EP. This song is about the dynamics of my relationship with my sister, at a particular point in time, and how an outside influence was changing my perception of her. The song shows the emotional roller coaster that was a year of my life. It shows how an outside influence can have so much influence over someone. This is a song about my efforts to “save” her, but at some point, you have to stop trying and move on. Though this song is immensely personal, I believe that it can be applied to any type of relationship.”

HAAS is a pop/rock band from Virginia. The name HAAS stems from lead vocalist Sam Haas who decided to pay tribute to not only her family name but her late grandfather who inspired her through his music. After years of playing around with names and ideas, HAAS became the official name in 2018. Through the use of catchy melodies, rhythmic guitars, and expressive lyrics, HAAS has been able to marry the pop/rock sound. The group uses music not only as an outlet for themselves, but want the music to be an outlet for others. They draw on personal hardships, such as loss, strained relationships, bullying, depression, and anxiety, but also hardships within the world today. HAAS strives to promote a place of safety and inclusivity, where it is okay to be who you are and forget about the real world for a minute. HAAS has discussed being bullied and scared of being who they are and by embracing themselves, they hope to inspire others to do the same; “love who you are and don’t be afraid to do the things you want.” HAAS plans to release their debut five-song EP in the Spring. Their new single “Behind Those Eyes” is available on all digital platforms NOW.

Weekend Vibes | My Music Recommendations for the Weekend: Peter Manos, PRETTYMUCH and Backstreet Boys

img_6326

Hello there, music lovers! 💚

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably sick of every third song on the radio being an Ariana Grande song. Nothing against her, I think she’s great, BUT I need some variety!

So here I am, offering my weekend music recommendations. Does my opinion count? Probably not, but here’s to hoping I can spread the music love and offer some variety to your music-loving ears.

img_6319

First up, I stumbled across a video on IG last night where three dancers were dancing to a song I’d never heard before. I couldn’t get the song out of my head, so I ended up adding it to my playlist on Apple Music.

The song is aptly titled “In My Head” by Peter Manos. While I don’t know much about him, I do know that he has three songs available to stream on Apple Music and you should definitely check them out. Those other songs are new releases (2019), titled “Out of Love” and “You Don’t Know Me.” He has this mellow, calming voice that makes you want to just light some candles and let all the stress of the day melt away. His songs are a mix of R&B with an acoustic vibe to it. Just trust me. Listen to them!

Another recommendation is from a band my niece introduced me to. PRETTYMUCH just wrapped up their FUNKTION TOUR, which I had the pleasure of going to with the niece last October here in Ft. Lauderdale. They recently released a song titled “Jello,” but my weekend recommendation is for a track they released at midnight last night/this morning called “Blind.” I mean, let me be honest, you should be listening to ALL of their songs, but I digress. These guys are hard working, talented and extremely underestimated (for now). They remind me of the old school boy bands, which is why I would even call myself a fan in my thirties lol. Their songs are so catchy, they’re incredible dancers and they put on a great show. Plus, I’ve seen first hand how much they love and appreciate their fans. Check out the new track, then check out all their other tracks and then you can catch some of the videos I recorded for my niece at their show here in Ft. Lauderdale (link below the video). 2019 better be their year!

Are you watching the video again?? You should be lol!

Here’s a link to my YouTube Channel, where you can find the videos I took from their show in October 2019.

My last recommendation for the weekend hurts my heart a little. Anyone who knows me knows that Justin Timberlake is my No. 1 and has been since I was 14 (that’s 20 years, people). I was that person who had NSYNC posters and articles plastered on my walls — like it was literally my wallpaper. With that being said, I feel the need to inform you that I was not that person who cried whenever I saw them or stalked their bus lol. Back then, you had to make a choice . . . NSYNC or Backstreet Boys. You already know what my choice was, which is why this recommendation hurts so bad haha. Backstreet Boys released their latest album, DNA, at midnight and it is fan-fucking-tastic! Excuse my French. I’ve been listening to it all morning and I haven’t found a song I didn’t like. I even texted my BSB-loving bestie and told her I might have to go with her to see them live for once in my NSYNC-loving life! All you Howie and Kevin lovers out there, hold onto your hats because they seem to have way more parts on this album than they ever have before. Don’t fact check me on that because if you’ve read this paragraph, you know that BSB was not my choice! I have to give credit where credit is due, and BSB definitely deserve it on this one. Congrats, boys men Backstreet Boys! (See what I did there?)

Check out the album DNA on Apple Music and Spotify, and you can check dates for their upcoming DNA World Tour HERE.

If there’s something you want me to check out, let me know in the comments! I’m always eager to hear new music, so feel free to send me YOUR recommendations!

‘WITH YOU’
NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
LISTEN ON SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD

Hannah Grace has released her brand new single ‘With You’ through Never Fade Records. Already proving a radio hit as a current feature on the BBC Radio Wales A-List, ‘With You’ is a bold demonstration of Hannah’s jaw-dropping soulful vocals among a stirring jazz-influenced backing of horns, piano and beautiful harmonies.

Regarding the single Hannah says, “I am so excited to finally be sharing ‘With You’. I wrote this song about wanting to reach out to someone who seemed a bit lost – to let them know I was there for them. Recently I have been lucky enough to be reminded just how many people are there for me when I really need them. I have the best friends and this song will always remind me of that.”

‘With You’ follows the release of her single ‘Oh River’ last year. The release of the beautiful ballad saw Hannah stun listeners with her incredible vocals, which saw the likes of Dermot O’Leary and his team clear space on his Radio 2 show to share her voice. She’s also appeared on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show and Zoe Ball’s ITV program, in addition to a slot at the BBC Biggest Weekend for Radio 2 in Perth, Scotland.

In 2017 Hannah gained the attention of Lady Gaga after posting a cover of her hit ‘Million Reasons’, which provoked Gaga to tweet the video and call Hannah a “superstar”. Meanwhile in the same year her cover of ‘Praise You’ soundtracked the Lloyds Bank TV advert and clocked up over 3 million streams.

2019 HEADLINE TOUR CONFIRMED
AHEAD OF US SHOWS SUPPORTING IRON MAIDEN

British metal five piece The Raven Age continue their unstoppable rise as torch-bearers for the next generation of UK metal. Their brooding style of monstrous guitar riffs and pummelling rhythms are entwined with powerful melodies and moments of quiet subtlety, adding a touch of epic finesse to their sound which has seen them deservedly play alongside the genre’s giants such as Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Tremonti, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Ghost and many more.

The quintet are now happy to announce the upcoming release of their second album Conspiracy on March 8th 2019 via their own label Corvid Records. They have also revealed the brand new track ‘Fleur De Lis’, which shares its name with the ancient stylized lily symbol that has long been associated with the heraldry of French royalty as well as linked to unity, loyalty and honour.

The Raven Age released their critically acclaimed debut album Darkness Will Rise in 2016. It saw them championed by the likes of Metal Hammer and Planet Rock, who crowned them ‘Best New Band 2017’ at their awards, and earned them slots at festivals such as Bloodstock, Hellfest, Wacken Open Air, Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park and Download.

The band have continued to spread their wings, honing their craft, perfecting their sound and identity, and with the recent addition of vocalist Matt James (aka MJ) and guitarist Tony Maue bringing a new dimension and diversity to the band’s songwriting and sound, they’ve created the new era of The Raven Age which is evident throughout the entirety of Conspiracy.

Co-founder, guitarist and album producer George Harris explains, “We’re so proud of it – it’s definitely keeping within the spirit of the band but we’ve really expanded what we can do and delved into new topics and sounds. A lot of that is to do with what MJ has brought to the band. With him on board we’ve grown enormously from the first album.”

Drawing inspiration from their interest in historical myths and conspiracies, lyrically the tracks tell stories of desperation and inhumanity throughout different periods of time, delving into the lives and experiences of people from years ago.

The album is the second part to their story, where clues are left in everything from the artwork to the lyrics which point to what may later come to pass, and interlock with what The Raven Age is all about. They’ve created something more than just a record, but instead an artistic, conceptual identity as they set to write their own legacy.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the legend of the ravens of the Tower of London,” continues George. “The fact that the collective noun for ravens is a Conspiracy really inspired the album, the title and the artwork around it. In this fantasy world the ravens are actually being held captive at the Tower, they aren’t there of their own accord. Their wings have been clipped and they’re prisoners of the Tower to keep Britain from falling. This record develops the story with all sorts of twists and tangents”

The album opens with a harmonious instrumental, equipped with delicate guitar lines and an accompaniment of euphoric synths and strings before yielding into recent single ‘Betrayal of the Mind’, which was written as a result of mental health issues, spreading awareness through the lyrics of how it affects so many people in different ways.

It then leads into the raging metal riff of the aforementioned ‘Fleur De Lis’ and ‘The Day The World Stood Still’, which enters with a melodious dynamic, creating space between the album’s brutal moments, soaring into a momentous chorus showcasing James’ vocal capabilities.

Elsewhere the racing Christian mysticism inspired ‘Stigmata’ is filled with thunderous drum patterns from Jai Patel and heavy bass parts from Matt Cox, while the haunting intro of ‘Seventh Heaven’ explodes into a colossal outbreak of commanding riffs expertly executed by guitarists George Harris and Tony Maue before dropping to a stripped-back section with James’ exposed vocals taking centre stage.

Continuing their running theme of historic references, the calmer ‘The Face That Launched A Thousand Ships’ draws inspiration from the legend of Helen of Troy, whose incomparable beauty resulted in a fleet of a thousand ships setting sail to rescue her leading to the Battle of Troy. Similarly, ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ is named after the US monument which stands in tribute to those exhumed and unidentified from battles over the years.

Also included is ‘Surrogate’, the album’s debut track from earlier in 2018, and the sharp and fierce ‘Scimitar’ before the epically sullen, grand finale ‘Grave of the Fireflies’, which resumes the dynamic rise and fall that resonates throughout the whole of Conspiracy.

The album reveals a sense of unity, and determination which sits at the core of this group, standing as both a strong and hardworking collective who have shaped and delivered a musically mature and thoughtful release that will mark them as a band of the future.

Regarding the collaboration Gabrielle Aplin says, “I’m really happy to finally have a song out with my friend Hannah Grace. We’ve sang together for years so it was great to finally work on something new together. We’ve been wanting to collaborate on a Christmas EP for such a long time!”

Speaking about the release Hannah Grace says, “We’re so excited to share ‘December’ with the world. We got to make the EP with a long time collaborator of both of ours, Luke Potashnick, and that made the recording process so fun and special. This EP means a lot to us and we cannot wait for everyone to hear it!”

Gabrielle Aplin and Hannah Grace have come together after a friendship that began many years ago through a shared love of music and songwriting. Their individual artist projects have always been intertwined and this year Hannah Grace signed to Never Fade Records, a label Gabrielle Aplin founded in 2010.

A joint project featuring Gabrielle and Hannah had always been a dream and last year at the annual Never Fade Records Christmas Party the idea of the collaborative Christmas EP was born.

“Sweet country pop right out of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now era”
THE TIMES

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Amy Lawton has released her brand new single ‘Don’t Bring Louise’. The new song is one of heartfelt unrequited love, featuring beautiful harmonies among its sincere country pop.

Regarding the single Amy says, “‘Don’t Bring Louise’ is a true story, about a real girl that my ex-boyfriend dated. I started writing the song when I heard her name for the first time. I’d never met her but as soon as I heard her name I started building a picture of her and the lyrics started to form in my head. It’s about a feeling that gets reignited the first time you hear that the other person has moved on, even if you thought you were over it.”

‘Don’t Bring Louise’ follows the release of her highly praised singles ‘Hurts Like Paradise’ and ‘Undone’. Since emerging last year Amy has received support from the likes of The Times, 1883 Magazine, CelebMix and many more.

A burgeoning name on the UK live scene, Amy has just completed her first ever regional tour, where she played 19-dates across the country. She also performed at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this summer.

In London, Amy has played at many famous venues in the city including Ronnie Scott’s, The Troubadour, The Bedford and The Social among many others. She also played as support to Jack Savoretti at Cadogan Hall.

While still fresh-faced, Amy comes armed with sharpened experience well beyond her years and is proving her self to be an exciting new name on the singer/songwriter scene.

Archie Faulks has shared the video for his new single ‘Blackout.’

A succession of beautifully shot abstract clips, the video conveys a surreal dreamlike ambience that simultaneously straddles both the romantic and unnerving; an ethereal visual journey into the fantastic and unsettling mind-set of an individual plagued by lonely, obsessive desire.

The song premiered on the Radio 1 ‘Chillest Show’ with Jamz Supernova in for Phil Taggart. A strong supporter of Archie, Phil previously called him “a serious talent”.
‘Blackout’ follows the release of Archie’s debut single ‘It Rains’ earlier this year. The song received support from Radio 1 and Radio X and has clocked up almost a million streams across Apple Music & Spotify.

The release led Archie to sell out his debut headline show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters, and also saw him taken out on European tours with Rue Royale where he played three shows in Holland & Isaac Gracie where he performed four dates in Germany.
