TO GIVEAWAY ALL 36 CORVETTES

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES APRIL 30, 2020 AT 12PM PT – ENTER HERE

Proceeds From Sweepstakes Will Go To The National Guard Educational Foundation

Picture yourself cruising down the highway in a 1953 Corvette, one of the rarest years for the iconic sports car, so much so that out of the 300 produced there are estimated to be only 140 left in the world.  Or how about the 1956 ‘Vette, with its very unique Cascade Green color.  Or even the ’67 convertible, the most popular among Corvette aficionados?

Now your dream can become a reality, thanks to a group called Corvette Heroes.  Indeed, the group has launched a national sweepstakes in which 36 individuals can each win one of 36 classic Corvettes – one each from the years 1953, when the car was introduced, to 1989.  Entries, in the form of donations, are $3 each, with deals for multiple entries (5 for $10; 20 for $25, etc.) with proceeds going to the National Guard Educational Foundation.

Corvette Heroes comprises a group of New York real estate and parking garage professionals as well as the co-owner of Gotham Comedy Club who bought and are restoring what is considered the greatest Corvette car collection in history. To enter the sweepstakes – and to be eligible, you must be 18 years of age or older – visit the www.thelostcorvettesgiveaway.com.

It is known as “The Lost Corvettes” and the Peter Max Collection because the renowned pop artist owned them and was going to use them as canvases for a series of paintings.  He never pursued this project and since 1989 the cars sat in various parking garages throughout the city, collecting dust, dirt and debris for the past 25 years.

A few years ago, a representative for Max reached back out to Scott Heller, who for two decades had been helping Max move the cars to various garages around the city. The agent asked Heller if he was interested in purchasing the collection.  Heller discussed this with his two sons Michael and Adam Heller, and his cousin Peter Heller, as well as real estate associates Gary, Adam and Fred Spindler.

Then they reached out to Gotham Comedy Club’s Chris Mazzilli, who is also the owner of Dream Car Restorations on Long Island and one of the world’s foremost Corvette enthusiasts and experts, to determine what it would take to bring the cars back to their former glory. Mazzilli compiled a detailed analysis for the group on what each car needed and the cost of repairs.  Then the decision was made to purchase the entire collection.

“As soon as I met them and they asked me to look at the cars, I knew they were talking about the Peter Max Collection,” Mazzilli recalled.  “And I knew that we had to do this.  This is the greatest Corvette ‘Barn Find’ in history!”

It’s taken a few years to get the cars up to speed, so to speak.  And it also took time for the Corvette Heroes to determine what they actually wanted to do with the cars once they were fixed up and in running condition.

Rather than sell them as one collection, the group decided to give away the cars in the form of a national sweepstakes, similar in fashion to a wildly popular sweepstakes conducted by the TV network VH1 back 30 years ago.

Back in 1989, the then nascent cable TV network VH1 was looking to make a public splash in order to greatly expand its viewership, and a producer at the network came up with the idea of assembling the collection of 36 Corvettes and then giving them all away to one lucky winner.  Some two million people entered the contest, and the winner was a carpenter from Long Island.  Max purchased the entire collection from that carpenter soon thereafter.

But the Corvette Heroes are putting their own spin on the sweepstakes this time around. First, rather than one winner there will be 36 winners, greatly increasing the odds of winning a car, and second, they have decided that proceeds from the sweepstakes will go to American military veterans through the National Guard Educational Foundation. In addition, the History and FYI networks are producing a special series called “The Lost Corvettes,” which documents the history of the cars and the restoration efforts by the Corvette Heroes.  The series premieres this weekend on Saturday, Nov. 9 and 10 on History and FYI. Plus, some of the restored corvettes from the Peter Max Collection will be showcased at the LA Auto Show happening Nov. 22 – Dec. 1 at the LA Convention Center.

MORE INFORMATION
X Ambassadors’ debut platinum selling album VHS saw the band transition from Ithaca alt-rockers and Brooklyn indie scene outsiders, to chart breaking stalwarts. The album was an intimate insight into Sam Harris and his brother Casey Harris’ youth studded with audio snippets from home movies, and early recording sessions and sound checks. With it, came the genre-defining hits ‘Unsteady’ and ‘Renegades’, a three-year global touring odyssey and a string of high-profile festival performances.

Harris’ songwriting became increasingly personal resulting in the shattering, shimmering 2018 singles ‘JOYFUL’ and ‘Don’t Stay’ followed by a North American headline tour and sold out UK shows. Always looking to give back to the community that raised them X Ambassadors returned to Ithaca for the second annual Cayuga Sound Festival this past September creating and curating two days of musical performances and raising money for local charities.

In 2019 X Ambassadors released ‘BOOM’, a quick-fire anthem for emphatic recovery and personal revolutions. The artwork is written in Braille and designed in a yellow-on-black colorway. For Casey Harris, the band’s keyboardist and Sam Harris’ brother, who was born blind, it is the first physical manifestation of his work that he has been able to experience visually. He has just 10% of his vision.

X Ambassadors have also collaborated with a number of top names in music and film including Eminem, Tom Morello, Imagine Dragons, Wiz Khalifa, Suicide Squad, Netflix Original Bright and more recently they co-wrote and produced three songs on Lizzo’s debut album including the title track ‘Cuz I Love You’ and lead singer/songwriter Sam Harris has written and produced eight songs on the For The Throne – Music Inspired By The HBO Series Game Of Thrones soundtrack.

Check Out NYC Rock Band SILVER RELICS – Debut Album Out Now!

untitled1New York City-based rock band SILVER RELICS is Alex Sepassi and Justin Alvis.

Beginning at age 10, Sepassi actively honed a raw talent as a vocalist, performer, and by his late teens, a prolific songwriter. Raised on the iconic British songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s, Sepassi later discovered the Technicolor experiments of the psychedelics and brooding ’80s indie rock. He deftly incorporates the best of these influences while adhering to a classical “songs first” philosophy, writing taut, arresting demos on acoustic guitar and piano before sending a song on its trajectory. “I don’t know if I know what makes these songs, I think it’s different and new every time,” Sepassi explains. “The lyrics just point directly towards where I am in my life at that exact moment.”

Drummer Justin Alvis began his career as a member of various Drum and Bugle Corps that toured extensively across North America and Europe. His experience as a rudimental snare drummer molded him into a rhythmic databank. It’s not surprise that his skill set is the foundation of SILVER RELICS. His power and precision are easily recognizable each time he’s behind a kit.

“Justin is incredibly talented, with a work ethic and consistency that makes him one of a kind.”

Sepassi was introduced to New York producer Howie Beno at his 2016 South by Southwest showcase in Austin, TX. The two connected instantly, discussing a mutual admiration in each others’ past work and forging plans to record in the immediate future, SILVER RELICS and Beno began recording Sepassi’s material shortly thereafter.

“Howie’s the director, mentor, facilitator, the boss and our dear friend. He’s just as much a member of this group as we are and we know just how fortunate we are to say it.”

After deciding to relocate to New York in the Spring of 2017, Sepassi and Alvis were determined to record a collection of songs prior to their departure.

“What makes these songs different for me is how we were able to capture a snapshot of all the things that surround a life changing move in a very short period of time . . . the excitement, the uncertainty, the risk, the anticipation, the massive fucking anxiety just to name a handful,” Sepassi says. “I think these are experiences that a lot of people go through often and you certainly don’t have to move across the country to identify with this concept. It’s very human.”

SILVER RELICS continue to resonate with their listeners and to extend their reach since they began performing on New York stages in late 2017. Their live performance and style has often been compared to their artistic influences: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Duran Duran, Joy Division, The Verve, Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, The Doors, Pink Floyd and The Beatles.

The band released their debut album, Generic, on May 17, 2019. You can take a listen by visiting Spotify HERE.

Pop Rock Band SWIM Drops New Single “The Chase”

IMG_8346

NY-based indie pop rock band SWIM have released their new single “The Chase,” out on all digital platforms NOW. The track, a fun and energetic piece written collectively by the band, blends together various elements of mainstream pop, rock, and indie. “The Chase” is quite nostalgic, speaking of personal doubt in a relationship, while also piecing together each band members’ instrumentation to create a sleek, cool fusion. About the single, the band states:

The Chase was written by all members of the band, slowly coming together as they wrote each section of the song. The song speaks to uncertainty and doubt that one may feel in a relationship, while struggling to make it through. What started as a simple chord progression would be recorded and polished over the course of the year to become the version that is released today.

SWIM is an indie pop-rock band established in Stony Brook, New York. Voted one of the Top 10 bands on Long Island during the summer of 2017 in Newsday’s Band Battle, SWIM has been active at venues across Long Island since 2015, following the release of their first, self-titled EP, even performing at notable local venues like 89 North (Patchogue), Revolution (Amityville), and the Rainbow Stage at Heckscher State Park. Friends since high school, SWIM has steadily grown their fan-base performing from local Long Island venues to national stages such as SXSW in Austin, TX. 2017 saw the release of Finally, Someone, SWIM’s sophomore effort. Debuting a fine-tuned, focused bid at powerful, alternative rock laced with heavy pop overtones, the record features six tracks which promise to deliver a non-stop groove and revolve around the themes of love lost, love found, and love longed-for. The album has been premiered on local radio stations like 90.1 WUSB, and several online stations. Their last single “Heartbeat Connection” has earned over 200,000 listens on Spotify. SWIM’s thought lyrics, pop melodies, and rhythmic guitar and bass accompaniments tip their hat to indie rock influences like The Strokes and The Kooks, while staying true to the group’s unique brand of pop, heavily influenced by the likes of The Lumineers, Bleachers, and Coldplay. “The Chase” is available on all digital music platforms NOW.

NY-Based Alt Rock Band BROOKLINE Premiere New Single “Sinking”

IMG_6970

NY-based alternative rock band Brookline have released their new single “Sinking,” out NOW. The second single off of their upcoming EP “Fade” (out 2/22), “Sinking” sings an emotional narrative, touching upon themes of heartbreak and addiction. Elements of hard rock and pop punk are meshed together in the track, creating a unique blend that hints at influences of 90’s alternative. With an upcoming music video planned for “Sinking,” Brookline is also gearing up for the release of “Fade,” which will take new listeners on an emotional ride. About the single, the band states:

“Sinking” is the 2nd single off of Brookline’s Fade EP and tells the story of a relationship torn apart by addiction. The chorus hook “like a ship at sea you’re sinking, and I can’t be your lighthouse beacon” embodies the theme of the song; that although this person clearly needs help, their partner can no longer handle being subjected to their self destructive behavior and has to leave for their own good.

A five piece alternative rock band from upstate New York, Brookline features Mikey Pace (guitar), Dave Bennet (guitar), Matt Spinner (bass), Chris Fox (drums), and Tommy Carter (vocals). Formed in 2018, the group has mixed influence from pop punk and emo to post-hardcore and 90’s alternative rock. In late 2018, they announced the upcoming release of their second EP “Fade,” recorded with Jake Mannix of Indigo Audio Co. “Fade” shows a large amount of growth in musicianship as well as lyrical content from the groups earlier work. Touching on personal experiences of heartbreak, and the struggles of drug/alcohol abuse, “Fade” uses a combination of explosive hard rock and melodic emo and alternative influence to express these themes to their listeners and is set to be released February 22, 2019.

The lead single off of “Fade,” titled “Sinking,” is available NOW on all digital platforms.
