First things first . . . HOLY SHIT the Jonas Brothers still know how to put on an incredible show. The whole thing was high energy from the moment they took the stage!!

I just want to give a little backstory to my attending this show. 10 years ago, I took my niece to her first concert here in South Florida. She was 5 and she was decked out in a Jonas Brothers t-shirt, Jonas Brothers press-on nails and Jonas Brothers sandals. You guessed correctly, her first concert ever (at 5 because I’m the coolest aunt ever) was the Jonas Brothers. When the guys announced that they were getting back together, I knew I was going to have to sell a kidney to get tickets for the niece to see them again, almost exactly 10 years later! & that’s what I did (minus the selling of my kidney on the black market lol).

I also want to state that the marketing team for the Jonas Brothers deserve a raise! Their cryptic posts leading up to the show had fans going nuts trying to figure out the set list and what surprises would be coming next. The intrigue for all things Jonas has been heavy for months now and that is extremely good for the brand. 😉

The show started at about 7:45 with Jordan McGraw, who played a pretty short set. Bebe Rexha came out next and played her hits, which got the crowd pumped up even more for the guys.

While the crew was setting up the main stage, the crowd started SCREAMING and everyone was turned towards the back of the arena. The Jonas fam all walked in and grabbed seats in the VIP Section, but you would’ve thought the guys had walked out! It was really nice to see a packed arena mostly comprised of young girls all cheering for the guy’s wives, daughters, family and friends rather than hating on them for changing their relationship status haha. Kevin’s daughters must’ve thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Anyway, the guys came on at about 9:30pm and it was absolutely insane. They had the perfect mix of old hits sprinkled with new songs off of their Happiness Begins album. There was a mini stage set up in the back of the arena, in the VIP section, so every seat in the arena was a good one. Whether you were in the back sections or the front, you got a chance to see the guys just a little bit closer than you would with just a regular end-stage setup. The music was loud, the vocals were on-point and the whole production was very well thought out and put together. You can tell that a lot of preparation went into this tour and everything was executed perfectly. My only wish is that is was being filmed! Who knows, with all the surprises they’ve had for everyone lately, maybe it was. The show ended at about 11:20pm.

At one point towards the end of the show, the guys brought out Sebastian Yatra, Natti Natasha and surprised everyone by bringing out Daddy Yankee for a special performance of “Runaway”. Between special guests, confetti canons, pyro, fireworks and those silly inflatable dancing creatures, the show was just a party from start to finish. Even outside of the arena was decorated with balloons and made it feel like a party despite the heat and humidity haha. There were also little photo op areas throughout the hallways of the arena.

I also want to point out that I’ve been to A LOT of concerts, and this one might be at the top as far as high-energy is concerned. I mean that sincerely. The crowd was jumping and screaming and singing the words back to the guys the entire time and all I kept thinking about was their documentary, where Kevin asked if anyone would care that they were getting the band back together. After seeing the first show of the Happiness Begins Tour last night here in Miami, I hope that question has been answered for him and erased any doubts they might’ve had.  It’s obvious that the fans are here to stay!

I HIGHLY recommend checking this show out if you get the chance. The tickets are a big pricey, but they’re honestly worth it. A huge congratulations goes out to the guys on the success of their first show back and well wishes for the rest of the tour!

Ok, Jonas Brothers!! I see you!

Today marks the release of their new album, Happiness Begins, after 10 years! It’s been an extremely long 10 years for Jonas Brothers fans . . . believe me, as an *NSYNC fan, I know how uneasy it feels when your favorite band splits up. Especially when they’re brothers! Luckily, the guys worked through their issues and got together for one hell of an album!

When it was announced that the guys would be getting the band back together again, fans were hit with an onslaught of all things Jonas – a new single, a new album, a new tour, a documentary, a book, and who knows what’s next! There’s been no shortage of content, that’s for sure.

The documentary, Chasing Happiness, is available on Amazon Prime Video and gives an in-depth look at the guys growing up in the Jonas household, beginning their careers at a young age, navigating their way through life and work and family. Somewhere along the way, the guys seemed to lose the fun aspect of making music and performing, which eventually led to their split. They allow fans to get a glimpse into what happened and how they decided to work through things together as brothers. I highly recommend watching it.

With the release of the new album, we get to see a whole new Jonas Brothers. You can almost hear the fun in every song. It’s a more adult vibe than the old school albums, for sure. It’s funky, it’s mature, it’s a MOOD.  There’s literally something for everyone on this album, and a huge congrats goes out to the guys for coming back together while still holding onto their own individual styles in the process.

Personally, Jonas Brothers hold a special place in my heart. They were the first concert I ever took my niece to in 2009. She was 5 years old and it was amazing. My friend’s kids had fallen asleep towards the end of the show, so she took them out to the car, but my niece refused to leave until the show was over. It made me so proud! Since then, she’s been my concert buddy and now she’s 15 dragging me to shows I normally wouldn’t go to. They set the bar for live shows for her 10 years ago and now we’ll be seeing them EXACTLY 10 years later at their show here in Miami this August. My only wish is that I could afford VIP tickets for her to meet them lol.

Either way, make sure to grab the album, score tix to their upcoming Happiness Begins Tour (which is a bit pricey, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it), watch the documentary and keep your eyes open for their upcoming book! The guys are on a roll and it doesn’t look like there’s an end in sight. (Side Note: Someone please get them to convince *NSYNC to make a similar comeback! They’re living proof that maturing their sound and putting out music they want to make can work despite being a huge success to younger crowds back in the day!)

Everything’s been coming up Jonas lately, hasn’t it?? Since the boys men announced their reunion, they’ve released two new songs, an upcoming album, their upcoming Happiness Begins Tour and now we’ll get to watch how everything played out in their new documentary ‘Chasing Happiness,’ which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on June 4th.

I’ve been hearing about this documentary for weeks now and I’m stoked that we finally have a premiere date! The film promises never-before-seen footage of Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas, starting with their early days growing up in New Jersey in a family struggling to make ends meet. It follows them to their heights of stardom — and the events surrounding their 2013 breakup. “Chasing Happiness” also shows the brothers rebuilding their relationships as siblings and band mates, leading to their first new album since 2009.

Jonas Brothers was the first concert I ever took my niece to – about ten years ago – so there’s a little bit of sentimental value over their comeback. IMG_2130I was finally able to sit down and watch Demi Lovato’s documentary Simply Complicated today and it was so good!

The documentary is a YouTube Original that aired in October 2017. It currently has over 13 million views and with good reason.

It showcases Demi’s life–both the good and the bad. Through family issues, addiction, breakups and the pressure to be perfect, Demi has fought her way to almost 5 1/2 years of sobriety and is still working on finding herself in the process.

I remember sitting down and watching Sonny With a Chance, and Camp Rock with my niece when she was younger. Neither of us knew who Demi Lovato was at first, but I remember thinking that her voice was absolutely incredible. To look back on it now and to know that she hadn’t even tapped into a fraction of her full potential at that time is amazing. Looking at her on-screen, you had no idea that the person behind these characters was struggling with depression, an eating disorder and so many other underlying issues that had barely scratched the surface.

To be honest, I had no idea that things had gotten that bad for her. I knew that there were substance abuse issues, but I wasn’t really aware of the actual timeline of when everything hit rock bottom. I didn’t know the extent of the damage either. So, watching this documentary really shed light on her struggle and the struggle of those around her.

I would strongly suggest preventing your child from watching it if they’re under the age of 13 because it does touch heavily on drug use and alcohol abuse. However, I’m a firm believer in being honest with younger generations and showing them the uglier side of things so that they know what to avoid. This documentary takes an honest look at her struggles, the root of those struggles and the people who helped her through them.

One of the most touching moments for me, personally, was when she spoke about her relationship with Wilmer Valderrama. It’s clear that she still has so much love for him, and it’s nice to see them post-breakup still getting along and not having anything bad to say about one another. I can agree with her reason for needing to be alone and to learn how to depend on herself rather than someone else, but I’m secretly hoping for them to reconnect romantically. What can I say? I’m a hopeless romantic lol.

While watching Simply Complicated, I found myself teary-eyed more often than I’d like to admit. Viewers also get a bit of insight to the recording process for her working alongside her producers and manager. If you don’t walk away from this in pure awe of her vocals, you should probably check your hearing. The girl has got some VO-CALS!!

I definitely recommend watching the documentary, especially since it looks like Part Two might be happening in the near future. It’s a fantastic look at a talented young woman’s road to self-discovery, sobriety and overcoming struggles that so many of us deal with.

“HOME” BY ACTOR, MULTI-PLATINUM AND GRAMMY NOMINATED SINGER NICK JONAS FROM FERDINAND SOUNDTRACK

Original song from the forthcoming animated feature released today

 

Twentieth Century Fox today announced the release of “Home” an original song by Nick Jonas from the forthcoming animated feature FERDINAND.

“I’ve always wanted to write an original song for a film,” says Jonas. “When they showed me the materials of the movie, FERDINAND, a story I was familiar with, I was thrilled.”

FERDINAND tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.

Jonas says “Home” encompasses the film’s theme of acceptance. “I wrote this song with good friends of mine Justin Tranter and Nick Monson,” says Jonas. “And we wrote about feeling accepted and feeling loved, wherever that place is for you. For me it’s home, it’s my family, people I have closest to me; and the experiences we’ve shared.”

FERDINAND is directed by Carlos Saldanha, the director of “Rio” and inspired by the beloved book “The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson. The heartwarming animated comedy adventure features an all-star cast that includes John Cena, Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Anthony Anderson and many more. It will be released by Twentieth Century Fox on December 15, 2017. The film’s soundtrack will be release by Island Records on December 1, 2017.

20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios have released a new trailer and big news about FERDINAND! Nick Jonas has written an original song titled “Home” for the film; and Peyton Manning and Juanes have rounded out the exciting all-star cast alongside John Cena (as Ferdinand), as well as Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant, Anthony Anderson, Flula Borg, Sally Phillips, Boris Kodjoe, Jerrod Carmichael, Raul Esparza, Karla Martinez, and Miguel Angel Sylvester. Inspired by the beloved book “The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson, FERDINAND tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart.

I actually just finished watching CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR…like literally. I just took off the headphones…climbed out of bed…trying not to wake the wifey…walked through the living room…trying not to wake the dog…who could possibly wake up our ‘almost’ 2 year old son…all this…for Mr. Nick Jonas. (lol)

Did I like the movie?

I did. Any type of movie that can get my ‘WTF feelings’ going – – is alright with me. (lol)

Here’s what the movie’s about – OH…DO NOT watch the trailer. I know some of you girls will be tempted to – – DON’T! Personally…I thought it gave away too much.

Ok – real quick. Nick Jonas plays a young dude named Doug. He comes with parents to a little vacation spot – does a little summer work before heading off to college. One day – he notices a couple moving next door – – – the husband played by 1988’s YOUNG GUNS Dermot Mulroney – – he’s a rich douche who happens to have a super hot wife named Lena, played by the lovely Isabel Lucas. Right off the bat – she’s gives him the old ‘I wanna meet your penis look.’ Well – that’s what it looked like to me. (lol) Instead of playing it smart – – – his penis does all the thinking and decision making for him and well…it gets a little ‘complicated.’ (lol)

You get the picture. Right? Well…I hope so. (lol)

Like I said before – I liked the movie.

20 minutes into the movie I was like, “WTF Nick Jonas?!”

40 minutes into the movie I was like, “WTF Nick Jonas?!”

Last 20 minutes of the movie I was like, “WTF Nick Jonas..you idiot!”

Careful What You Wish For

See. This movie got my emotions going. (lol) I thought Nick Jonas did a great job in the acting department. It was super cool seeing Paul Sorvino is this. (I’m a fan)

I could see the girls loving this one – – Nick Jonas sexy time. Nick Jonas with his shirt off. Nick Jonas in just his boxer shorts. (lol) Yeah, yeah…he works out. (lol) Personally…my eyes were locked on Lena, the crazy, seductive chick. (lol)

CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR hits theaters and On Demand this Friday. The same day as Nick Jonas’s new album drops – Niceeeeee dude. Nice.
