img_1656Lionsgate and Pantelion Films have released the new trailer and poster for upcoming thriller EN BRAZOS DE UN ASESINO, starring William Levy.

SYNOPSIS: Victor (William Levy) is one of the world’s most handsome  men, but he has a deep secret – he is a cold blooded assassin. Smooth talking and seductive, Victor was raised to do one thing only, which is to kill for money. When he is sent to the home of a brutal drug lord to collect payment for his most recent hit, he encounters the beautiful Sarai (Alicia Sanz), who has been forced to spend the last 9 years of her life with the drug lord. After Victor leaves the compound, Sarai seizes her chance at freedom by hiding out in Victor’s car. But things don’t go as planned and instead of being transported back to her home, she finds herself free from one dangerous man only to be caught in the clutches of another. While on the run from the vengeful drug lord and his brutal henchmen, Victor’s conscience catches up with him as he risks all that he stood for to protect his captive. In the end,  the power Sarai unknowingly holds over Victor and their undeniable attraction may be what places her right in the arms of a killer.

EN BRAZOS DE UN ASESINO was directed by Matias Moltrasio and also stars Adrian Lastra, Roberto Sosa, Ettore D’Alessandro and Jean Jean. William Levy also serves as screenwriter and producer, alongside Jeff Goldberg.

Lionsgate and Pantelion Films have released the teaser trailer for hilarious new comedy LAS PÍLDORAS DE MI NOVIO (My Boyfriend’s Meds).

SYNOPSIS: Jess (Sandra Echeverria) is a talented, high-powered marketing executive at an upscale tequila company who falls for Hank (Jaime Camil), a charismatic mattress store owner she meets while shopping for a new bed. Hank’s charm and good looks convince Jess he is “Mr. Right,” but Hank hasn’t been completely open with Jess- Hank suffers from a variety of issues for which he takes an endless assortment of medications. On the night Hank decides to reveal his issues to Jess, she surprises him with an invite to accompany her on a work retreat to a remote island resort. Surprised by the suddenness of this next step in their relationship, he decides to keep his secret a little longer. When the new couple arrives to the island, Hank is horrified to discover that he left his meds behind and is no longer able hide his various symptoms. What is supposed to be a tropical “business and pleasure” trip begins to spiral out of control, and Hank goes from a handsome charmer to an erratic loudmouth- at the cost of Jess not only losing out an overdue promotion, but her job! Jess and Hank face the ultimate couple’s test- learning what it means to be madly in love.

Directed by Diego Kaplan, the Spanish-language film with English subtitles also stars Ana Belena, Brian Baumgartner, Kevin Holt, Daniel Tovar, Pamela Almaza, Juan Soler, James Maslow and Brooke Shields.

Palm Springs, CA (December 18, 2018) – The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) has recently announced the complete line-up, including the U.S Premiere of Pantelion Films’ Perfectos Desconocidos (Perfect Strangers). The Festival will screen 223 films from 78 countries, including 48 premieres (4 World, 13 North American and 31 U.S.) from January 3-14, 2019. The line-up includes a focus on cinema from France, India and Mexico, Premieres, Talking Pictures, Book to Screen, Special Presentations, FLOS: Foreign Language Oscar Submissions, Gay!La, Local Spotlight, Modern Masters, True Stories, World Cinema Now, a 30-film retrospective of selections from past festivals (free screenings sponsored by Desert Care Network and National Endowment for the Arts), and more.

If you’re a fan of thrillers, prepare for two of the best thrillers in 2017. Split, an intriguing suspense-filled film centered on the mysterious corners of the mind of a man who has manifested 23 personalities with one personality remaining and still submerged set to materialize and dominate all the others. This film stars James McAvoy and Latina actress Anya Taylor-Joy (Morgan and The Witch), and will be released in theaters on January 20, 2017.

Another thriller that you won’t want to miss is Get Out and will be in theaters on February 24. The film follows a meet-the-parents weekend getaway for a young African-American and his girlfriend at her family’s estate. Within the course of a few days, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

If you are feeling a like you need a little action in your life then The Great Wall will give you all the action you can handle. The film stars Matt Damon and Chilean actor Pedro Pascal from Narcos and Game of Thrones. If you’re feeling the love after Valentine’s Day then make it a date night (or a girl’s night out) for Valentine’s Day weekend, and catch two love-filled films. Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized annually in America from mid-September through mid-October. It is a month where recognition is given to all Hispanics living in this country, especially those who have made a positive impact and contribution to society while embracing their culture. With the increase of the Hispanic population in America and the generational growth we have seen that it has become difficult to keep our children grounded and maintain our traditions, values and cultures. Yet it is imperative for Hispanic families to instill in their children these traditions at an early age. As a proud Latina it is my diverse culture of which I am most proud of. It is this pride that I too will share with my children someday.

So how do we effortlessly pass on and instill our customs and traditions to our children? There’s various ways, but one of the first places to start is to inculcate the use of our language. Speaking to our children in Spanish at a young age will not only give them a competitive advantage in the long run, but it will organically immerse them into our culture. Nowadays, there are many tools that can help us really inculcate the use of Spanish in our homes – from bilingual books, to educational videos, mobile apps, and even Hollywood films. When it comes to movies, those that are dubbed in Spanish are a great resource. Learning to listen is essential to comprehending another language and by viewing a film in Spanish our children will absorb not only our culture but the language.

With that in mind, on October 14 Pantelion Films is releasing the animated film, La Leyenda Del Chupacabras. This film not only promises to entertain families from all over the United States, but also to be a good tool for our children in experiencing one of our culture’s well-known folktales in Spanish. The storyline follows the character of Leo and his friends as they embark on a new adventure and encounter the well-known mythical creature of El Chupacabras. Abandoned to their fate, Leo and the rebels must fight the El Chupacabras and escape the convent they are in. As Leo struggles to survive he will discover the secret behind El Chupacabras and will have to make the most difficult decision of his life. The film will be available in select cities with subtitles.

This film by Anima Studios is one of many animated series that focus on popular Latino folktales including La Leyenda De Las Momias and La Leyenda de la Llorona. These films are definitely a perfect tool to practice the use of Spanish language and also provide a look into our culture, plus they’re super cute!

This year, Comcast has partnered with Pantelion Films, Hollywood’s first Latino studio, and will make available several of the most popular movies at no additional cost during the two weeks of FreePass Latino. These titles include the highest-grossing Spanish-language film of all time,  Instructions Not Included; the first Spanish-language animated film to be widely released in the U.S., Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos; Casa de Mi Padre, featuring Gael Garcia Bernal and Will Ferrell; and Ladrones, starring telenovela superstars Fernando Colunga and Eduardo Yañez. And with the recent updates to Comcast’s state-of-the-art set-top box, the X1 platform, consumers can more easily navigate and access these films via the Voice Remote Control. This voice-activated feature allows consumers to simply say phrases in Spanish or English, like “Eugenio Derbez,” “Peliculas Mexicanas” or “Pantelion” and they will be taken to a screen with a list of all the appropriate titles associated with their request.

Don’t miss your chance at catching up with some of Pantelion Films’ best movies during this Hispanic Heritage Month. Hey everyone! Check out the first trailer of Lionsgate and Pantelion Films’ upcoming animated release, La Leyenda del Chupacabras. This family-fun film will make its theater debut on October 14!

SYNOPSIS: After his adventures with the mummies of Guanajuato and of being in the middle of the independence war, Leo San Juan is taken prisoner when he gets mistaken for an insurgent rebel by the royalist army soldiers while on his way back to Puebla. While locked in an old abandoned convent among other rebels, a frightening winged monster appears next to them: El Chupacabras, who attacks prisoners and guards alike. Abandoned to their fate, Leo and the rebels must fight the monster and escape before the royalists blow up the convent. As he struggles to survive he will discover the secret behind El Chupacabras and will have to make the most difficult decision of his life.

 

LA LEYENDA DEL CHUPACABRAS will open on October 14, 2016 in moderate release, from Lionsgate and Pantelion Films.
