Our favorite duo has released their first joint EP today and it’s amazing!
Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi are known for being 2/5 of the award-winning a cappella group, Pentatonix. They also have their own YouTube channel, which you can find HERE.
The talent between these two is beyond believable and it’s nice to see them expanding their reach to wider audiences. Their voices together is absolute perfection and I already can’t wait to hear Part Two!
This is a fun, up-beat collection of songs with phenomenal harmonies, as usual. One of my favorites so far (and it’s hard to choose one) is ‘Worth It (Perfect).’
You can find the first video (‘Imaginary Parties’) from Future Friends – Part One below:
You can follow Scott and Mitch on Twitter, and you can also follow the Sup3rfruit page!
Part Two will be released September 15th, but make sure to download Part One on whichever platform you use to stream/download music!
You guys!!! It’s back!! Words can’t express how much I love this show. My only complaint is that each episode is only 30 minutes! We need more, TV Land! We need more!
The Season 4 premiere of YOUNGER, which aired on Wednesday, June 28th, picks up where Season 3 left off. Liza’s lies (say that five times) are catching up to her, and she’s forced to “unburden” her truth on Kelsey (Hilary Duff). The tension is high throughout the conversation, but Liza (Sutton Foster) has got to be exhausted from all the lying! Kelsey doesn’t take the news well and sneaks out of Maggie (Debi Mazar) and Liza’s apartment in the middle of the night.
Now let me say that, on a personal level, I don’t think what Liza did — lying about her age in order to be considered for a job she was already good at — was necessarily wrong, but I think she definitely should’ve told Josh (Nico Tortorella) and Kelsey a lot sooner. The truth always comes out in the end, and, let’s be real … when you marinate something for a little longer than necessary things can get salty. Do you like what I did there? lol.
In any case, Kelsey feels betrayed by her bestie and now has to face the burden of finding an apartment to live in. During a meeting with Charles (Peter Hermann) and Diana (Miriam Shor) regarding a potential book deal, Liza is determined to come clean with them as well. Before she can spill the beans though, Kelsey stops her in her tracks and saves her from ruining her career. Did her alone time allow her to consider Liza’s position and possibly forgive her? Not quite. She tells Liza that if she reveals the truth, the Millennial imprint will be done for — it’s all business.
Kelsey ends up bonding with Josh over their shared feelings of betrayal by Liza. Spoiler Alert (if you’re not caught up on Season 3): Josh is still heartbroken after finding Liza kissing Charles in the Hamptons right before he was about to propose! He tells Kelsey not to ask him about that night in the Hamptons ever again. Ugh … Josh’s heartbreak makes my heart break!
Surprisingly, Kelsey calls in Emily — the Entertainment Weekly writer who blackmailed Liza into publishing her labradoodle book in exchange for not revealing her secret — into the office for a chat. She tells Emily that they’ll only publish her book if she keeps Liza’s secret AND puts Millennial on EW’s 29 Under 29 list to garner more publicity. Liza takes this as a sign of forgiveness, but she’s dead wrong … again. After the EW party, Kelsey tells her that what she did was for the imprint, not for her. She doesn’t know that she’ll ever be able to forgive Liza because she broke her heart. And to be honest, this whole exchange broke mine! I love the friendship that Kelsey and Liza have, so to see it on the rocks like this is difficult. Especially when I can understand both sides. Liza didn’t have bad intentions when she started this lie of hers, but she took a little too long to reveal the truth to those who trusted her integrity. Kelsey has gone through a lot in the past few seasons, so to have the one person she relies on reveal this huge lie, I can see why she feels so utterly betrayed.
While Josh and Kelsey wallow in their feelings of betrayal, Liza goes out with Charles to see items related to Ernest Hemingway being sold that once belonged to his father. Liza sees love letters written by Hemingway to Marlene Dietrich, which Charles explains the two were “victims of unsynchronized passion.” Ummm … yes, Liza … that was probably directed at you!
I should tell you all now that while I’ve been on the fence regarding the Josh-Liza-Charles love triangle at times, I am definitely on Team Josh at the moment. Josh is young, yes. He’s a bit more spontaneous and wild as opposed to Charles, yes. But Josh loved Liza despite her lies and he wanted to start a family. He was about to propose to the girl and saw her kissing her boss (which is a no-no as it is)!
After the 29 Under 29 party, Lauren (Molly Bernard) offers Kelsey her Uber ride which has just arrived. Kelsey takes the bait and Lauren and Liza follow the Uber on Lauren’s phone to find out where Kelsey has been staying. Turns out she’s Josh’s new roommate! He greets her at the door with a set of keys and my immediate thought is … this will not end well!
Ughhhhh … why do you do this to us, YOUNGER?? We get it, cliff hangers are your thing. But our broken hearts can’t take much more! Either way, I’m as hooked as I was during the first season and I’m not going anywhere!
If you’re not caught up yet, you can find all the episodes on the TVLand app, On Demand and on Hulu. Also, it was announced recently that YOUNGER has been renewed for a 5th Season!
Make sure to tune in to TVLand every Wednesday at 10pm for more of YOUNGER.

The fast-paced “Baby Driver” develops a great story quickly, makes use of every scene and captivates from the opening scene on.
The music can drive the movie on its own, but have characters develop and evolve through out the movie helps to get the audience invested in the plot.
Writer-directed Edgar Wright said that this was a story he had been wanting to tell for many years and it all started with music.
The diligent research he did made the story based on actual reality, but the pacing was driven by the beats of the songs.
The soundtrack helped him develop what would happen to each character and continue moving the story forward scene after scene.
Actor Jamie Foxx, who plays Bats, said he kept the music going between sets because it was important for the story, important for how the characters would react on screen and it made a difference when actors would need to hit queues.
Although the the cast have been on numerous sets for different projects, Actor Ansel Elgort, who plays lead character Baby, found the entire experience unique because everyone was committed to making this story exactly what Wright would be proud of.
Elgort also said that coming off “Baby Driver’s” set and onto his next project was difficult. He was able to play music between takes to keep the mood. His co-stars would look at him funny for playing music between takes as well.
After months of playing Baby and wearing headphones, with the scene’s music and sound effects playing, Elgort needed some time to decompress.
Actress Lily James paired up with Elgort well and was thrilled to play off of Elgort.
James brings out a vulnerability in her character which shows the trust she had in Elgort.
The movie seemed to be written for Elgort to star in, James said.
Actress Eiza Gonzalez and Jon Hamm play complimentary character which are only complete when they are together, and most of the time when they are on screen they are touching.
Gonzalez was interested in the fact that none of the characters tell their own back story, they each tell a bit of each other’s back story.
Hamm thought that by Wright doing that he was able to create the myth of each character and make Baby more of a legend, which works to bring compassion and some level of curiosity.
YES YES YESSSSSSS!!! The follow up to BAD MOMS will be gracing theaters this November and I can’t wait to see it! Raunchy humor, curse words laced throughout the hilarious dialogue, seeing another side of the “perfect mom” persona? It all works for me!
The holidays can make even the most sane of people quite the opposite, so the anticipation of seeing these “bad moms” weave their way through Christmas leaving behind their usual trail of debauchery is on another level. Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell) and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) don’t just have to deal with being “bad moms” themselves, but they also have to deal with unexpected visits from their own respective mothers. It’s sure to get some laughs and, I mean, if worst comes to worst, we’ll always have the image of Ty Swindle (Justin Hartley) being body-waxed by Carla lol!
What do you think is the funniest part about the trailer? Mine has to be Jessie’s (Jay Hernandez) daughter telling Amy that she heard them screaming in the bedroom and thinks they hate each other. Bahahaha! Classic!
A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS hits theaters November 3, 2017!
Ooooooh … I’m excited for this one!! This movie has a great cast, a fantastic storyline and the trailer certainly evokes a strong interest in checking out the rest of the film. It looks like the perfect balance of action, drama and edge-of-your-seat craziness!
The story centers around Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien), a man who is no stranger to loss. After losing his girlfriend/fiancé in a terrorist attack, he’s hell bent on seeking revenge. He’s sent to train with a Cold War veteran named Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton … yes, you heard correctly!) and together they’re led on an action-packed mission.
Based on the #1 Bestseller by the late Vince Flynn, AMERICAN ASSASSIN looks like it’ll be a strong contender among recent action films. What do you think? Are you as excited as I am??
AMERICAN ASSASSIN is set to be released in theaters on September 15, 2017!

You guys!!! Mike and I are almost caught up on our recaps for The Originals. So sorry for the delay, but Mike had daddy duty and I was finishing up with one of my last classes. Adulting sucks sometimes, doesn’t it??
In any case, was anyone else watching this episode on the edge of their seat? There was also a lot of backlash towards the writers regarding the direction in which Hayley and Elijah’s relationship seems to be heading. Mike & I discuss our feelings on that in the podcast, but let me just say that if you’re a fan of the show be a fan of the show. Don’t start shooting hate towards the writers and creators because a relationship doesn’t have a picture perfect path that you want it to go on. They deliberate over the direction of the show in all aspects and they’re professionals for a reason! They know what they’re doing, people! Think before you send negative comments to people just because a pair of fictional characters aren’t giving YOU what you want. Write some fan fiction if that makes you feel better. As a writer myself, I just hate seeing the horrible comments like I saw on Twitter after these last few episodes aired. It’s not cool.
Anyway, check out the podcast below and let us know what you thought!

SYNOPSIS: Follows Declan Harp, a part-Irish, part-Native American outlaw who is campaigning to breach the Hudson’s Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada.
Ok, so the big bro (Mike “the Movie Guy”) gave me some homework a few weeks ago to check out a show called Taboo, starring Tom Hardy. I did, and I loved it (in fact, I should probably do a review for that one too!). After watching the first season of FRONTIER, I get a ton of Taboo vibes.
We all know that Jason Momoa plays the aggressive macho dude role really well (if you haven’t seen him on Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo, do yourself a favor and fix that!), but it kinda sucks that he’s typecasted into these roles. He’ll also be stepping into the water shoes of Aquaman, set to be released in 2018. With that being said, he plays the lead role of Declan Harp really well on FRONTIER. He’s determined to make heads roll, but still conjures up some sympathy from the viewers, which is what I like in a show.
The supporting cast is also great and full of lovely accents! You get some Native American, some Scottish and some of my own peeps, the Irish! There is a ton of cursing, some suggestive language, drinking and debauchery for those of you (like me) who enjoy a good F-bomb lol.
In comparison to Taboo, the quality is a little lacking. The throat-slitting happens way too easily, the stabbings barely produce any blood and sometimes the scenes in the tavern actually sound like a soundstage, but the show is still a great watch. I went into it with Taboo as a comparison, so if you haven’t seen Taboo, you might actually really like this one. I’ve seen both and enjoyed them regardless of production quality. With the first season being only 6 episodes, I’d say check it out. See what you think!
The show originally aired on Discovery Canada, but you can catch the first season on Netflix now. According to IndieWire, the show has already been renewed for a second season, so keep your eyes open for that as well.
Check out the trailer below, and then watch the darn show! Let me know what you think!
After a day of going on as many rides at Universal Studios Hollywood, “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” illuminated the side of the castle making it more magical than it already is.
The light show which pays tribute to the four houses – Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Gryffindor.
For this preview of the light show, the streets of Hogwarts, leading up to the castle which is where the main Wizarding World of Harry Potter ride “HARRY POTTER AND THE FORBIDDEN JOURNEY.”
The more family-friendly ride “FLIGHT OF THE HIPPOGRIFF” outside the castle and the shops of Hogsmeade are a great place to hangout while waiting for the nighttime lights.
While at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, try the Butterbeer (Non-alcoholic). The drink is sweet and tangy with a little fizz, highly recommend trying it regular and frozen.
Joining Thisfunktional for the Nighttime Lights was Danielle Delgado, from LifeLoveAndPopCulture.com, checkout what she said on Instagram:
The nighttime lights are a great way to end a fun day of rides and attractions at the entertainment capital of LA, Universal Studios Hollywood.
Here are some photos from the light show, but it is much better in person:

What’s up, my fellow movie lovers?! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
We celebrated my niece’s birthday at the beach this weekend, so her and I were nursing extremely sunburnt skin and decided to stay in bed and watch a movie. She decided to use some of her birthday money to buy BEFORE I FALL, so that was her movie of choice!
Let me start out by saying that back when this movie was in the theater, I thought the trailer looked great. My niece (who just turned 13) saw it with her friend when it was first released and told me she didn’t like it. After watching it with me again this weekend, her opinion has changed. I think the message behind the movie went over her head a bit the first time, so I’m glad she gave it another chance.
With that being said, I actually liked it. It had a Premonition vibe to it, if any of you have seen that 2007 movie starring Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon. BEFORE I FALL was more relatable to teenagers though.
The story follows four friends as they navigate their way through high school. As the four friends leave a party one night, they get into a car accident causing Sam (Zoey Deutch) to relive the same day repeatedly for the remainder of the movie. This concept might sound annoying, but Sam tries to figure out what could be done differently to alter the outcome of that one night. So while the day always starts out the same, Sam takes different steps to try and fix what was broken.
It’s interesting, to say the least. I’m sure many of us have a day where we wish we’d done things differently, or treated someone better, or didn’t trust someone that shouldn’t have been trusted. I know I have! This movie explores that idea and ties it in with teenage bullying, and the unnecessary need for teens to feel accepted and popular among their friends and peers.
I also enjoyed the casting for this movie! Zoey Deutch is fabulous as the main character, Sam. The supporting cast was diverse and equally great. These are your typical high school teenagers who think it’s funny to make jokes about the less popular oddballs. The difference here, however, is that viewers can sympathize with them a bit because of the little bit of backstory we get on them.
The message here is simple: Yes, we might have difficult moments in our lives that we want to ignore, push to the side, or even push off on someone else, but bullying is not the answer. It also makes you think about how you would live your own life if you knew you only had one day left to do it. The things we take for granted are often the things we should value the most. So I think this film really pushes that discussion of how actions can affect others and, subsequently, ourselves.
BEFORE I FALL is available on DVD/Blu-ray now. Check it out and let me know what you think!

SYNOPSIS
Curious George is the most popular monkey in the world. Since his introduction in the first publication in 1941, the beloved series has sold over 75 million books in more than 25 languages. MONKEY BUSINESS explores the lesser-known tale of George’s creators, Hans and Margret Rey. Originally from Hamburg, Germany, the Reys first met when Hans was dating Margret’s older sister. Years later, having heard that Hans was wasting his artistic talents as a bookkeeper in Rio, Margret traveled to Brazil to persuade him to marry her and do something creative together. After their four-week honeymoon to Paris turned into a four-year residency, they accidentally became children’s book authors when a publisher suggested they create a book out of a cartoon Hans had drawn. Being German Jews, however, their life in Paris abruptly came to an end in June 1940 when the Reys were forced to escape from the Nazis by riding makeshift bicycles-a manuscript of the first Curious George book was one of the few possessions they could smuggle out with them. Arriving in New York as refugees, they started their life anew and over the next three decades they created a classic that continues to touch the hearts and minds of children around the world.
First off, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there (and to all the single moms playing both roles)!
As some of you may know, my dad passed away 2 years ago, so we celebrate my brother on Father’s Day, who is a father to my wonderful, sometimes annoying, niece. As part of his gift, I finally sat down to watch a movie and CHEF was his choice.
I have to say I’m glad he chose this one. Sadly, I’d never heard of this film, but I thought it was fantastic! It really exemplifies how someone can take a situation that is no longer making them happy, and turn things around for the better.
The movie follows celebrity chef, Carl Casper, as he runs the kitchen at an LA restaurant owned by Riva (Dustin Hoffman). Riva wants Carl to stick to his usual menu, but when a popular food critic arrives at the restaurant Carl and his team want to switch things up to make their menu more creative. This idea doesn’t sit well with Riva, and their plan is shut down. The critic, Ramsey Michel (Oliver Platt) destroys Carl’s cooking and the horrible review goes viral.
Carl gets schooled by his 10-year-old son, Percy (Emjay Anthony), on how Twitter and social media works. With little to no knowledge of social media, Carl engages Ramsey in a Twitter feud that eventually results in Carl leaving Riva’s restaurant.
At the suggestion of his ex-wife, Inez (Sofia Vergara), Carl flies with her and Percy to Miami, where his love for cooking first began. He meets with Inez’s other ex-husband, Marvin (Robert Downey, Jr.), and buys a food truck in order to get back to making the type of food that makes him happy.
With the help of his old sous chef and friend, Martin (John Leguizamo), and Percy, Carl sets off on a cross-country trip in the food truck. Percy’s use of technology turns the new food truck into a sought-after establishment.
In my opinion, this movie has great storylines that intertwine to give viewers the motivation to find what truly makes them happy. Carl takes an incident that hurts his career and stifles his creativity, and turns it around into something that positively impacts all aspects of his life. It sends the message that things aren’t always easy, but with hard work, dedication, and a dash of positive, creative energy, true happiness is absolutely possibly.
The film also features a ton of Hispanic flavor that really showcases the atmosphere here in Miami. An underlying moral of the story is: If you haven’t tried a TRUE Media Noche, do yourself a favor and TRY ONE!! Side note: Yuca Fries and Tostones should also be on your list of foods to try! What can I say…my Cuban peeps know what they’re doing! lol.
So check out the film on Netflix and, as always, let me know what you thought! You can thank me later for this little hidden gem!
