Boy Band Alert: PRETTYMUCH | @prettymuch #music

Pretty-Much-Would-You-Mind-Audio-758x409

What’s up, peeps??

It’s no secret that I grew up in the boy band era (*NSYNC foreva!), but now I get to enjoy the new wave of boy band’s thanks to living with my 13-year-old niece. My niece is an old soul, so she was always willing to watch old *NSYNC videos with me, she’s gone to see New Kids On the Block with me twice, and we were hooked on ABC’s Boy Band Show this past summer. What can I say? It’s genetic!

I have to say that this is one of my current favorites. PRETTYMUCH has an old school style, catchy beats and they can dance their butts off! Plus, they were put together by Simon Cowell, who also put together my niece’s all-time favorite band, One Direction.

Check them out and let me know what you think! Who was your favorite growing up?

PRETTYMUCH is currently on tour with Jack & Jack, and we’ve heard some of their unreleased songs, which are amazing! Stay tuned…

Hey there, music lovers!

I had the pleasure of listening to Saint Raymond’s EP before its release and became an instant fan. It was released on Friday, November 17 and I’m happy to be able to share it with you now!

The A Light That Blinds EP follows from the release of the acclaimed Nottingham singer’s Top 10 debut album Young Blood in 2015.

You can listen to A Light That Blinds EP here – Spotify

IMG_1057Saint Raymond released two songs from the EP ahead of release, including the upbeat indie pop anthem ‘We Are Fire’ and the seductive late night swagger of ‘Nightcrawling’.

The singles have been receiving great support from Radio 1, with Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens particularly big fans at the station. He has previously been ‘Hottest Record In The World’ and completed a Maida Vale session for Radio 1 too.

Saint Raymond has received great praise from the broadsheets and indie tastemakers. His feel-good indie anthems have captivated arenas and he’s also played with the likes of HAIM, Jake Bugg and Ed Sheeran.

NIALL HORAN: Flicker Sessions Tour 2017 – Miami (Review)

IMG_0938

Hey there, music lovers!

This review will be a bit different because my niece was actually the one who attended. I wanted to have her explain the experience in her own words because she’s the target demographic (even though I really enjoyed this album myself). This tour, Flicker Sessions, is promoting the debut solo album from Niall Horan (1/4 of One Direction).

I can tell you that the doors to the venue (The Fillmore Miami Beach)  opened about an hour before the show started, which was about 7pm. The scheduled start time was 8pm and my niece was out at 10:15pm.

Also, be sure to take advantage of the Flicker Sessions filters available on SnapChat while you’re waiting! Here are the two that were available for my niece here in Miami:

Here’s Briana with her thoughts on the show:

I was nervous to see Niall perform by himself because I’m so used to seeing him with the other guys in 1D, but I am so proud of him! Proud mom! The stage didn’t have a big, elaborate set-up and I really liked that. It had a chill vibe that went well with his new music. The sound was great at the venue and Niall’s vocals were on point throughout the whole show (I’m not surprised!). One of my favorite parts was when he stopped singing and playing the guitar and let the audience sing the words back to him. He just looked so happy to be doing this. We almost cried when he started singing “Fool’s Gold” too! It was so emotional.

IMG_0946This was my first time at The Fillmore, but I really liked it. I even heard that the line for Niall’s show was longer than any other show there. I’m not sure how accurate that is, but either way, it was way worth the two hours we spent in line! Some people even started lining up at 5am! We weren’t as close to the stage as we hoped, but just being there at all was such a great experience. While we were in line, someone passed around these bright pink papers shaped like light bulbs that said to hold them in front of our phone flashlights during “This Town” and that was awesome to see. I’ve seen people plan fan projects like that at other shows, but this was the first one I got to participate in.

Gavin James opened up for Niall and he reminded me a lot of Ed Sheeran. I thought he did really well. I highly recommend getting tickets to see Niall live because it really was a great night out!

Set list from the Fillmore Miami Beach (Nov. 6, 2017):

  1. The Tide
  2. Seeing Blind
  3. This Town
  4. Paper Houses
  5. You and Me

Harry Styles | “KIWI” Video Out Now! [watch]

Good morning, everyone!

Today we are blessed with the latest video from Harry Styles off of his self-titled debut album! I know this made my niece’s day, and I hope it makes yours as well!

Here’s the video for “Kiwi”

If you happen to live under a rock and haven’t seen the debut video from the album, here is “Sign of the Times”

The album is fantastic and features an 80’s rock-inspired sound that is rather surprising to some who are unaware of his talent. (Note: If Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue can admit that this is a great album, that is saying A LOT. Nikki Sixx is extremely outspoken and knows music like the back of his hand. It’s definitely a compliment to Harry) Check it out and let me know what you think!

Bruno spent 2016 crafting the album in his home studio nestled in the coastal mountain range separating the Pacific Ocean and the suburbs of Los Angeles where he grew up. The secluded location is reflected throughout the album. “The record definitely has a feel to it that seems parallel to the vibe of this mountain and the land,” Bruno notes. “It’s like a non-GMO record. There’s no fake shit on there, none of the vocals are tuned. It’s all real playing.”

Dan Owen has released the video for his brand new single ‘Hideaway’, out now through Atlantic Records.

The video sees Dan playing one half of an escaping couple, running from attackers through a menacing English countryside setting as they are caught up in an intense car chase and terrorised by snarling attack dogs.

‘Hideaway’ enlists huge blues riffs which bolster the mighty soulful tones of Dan’s jaw-dropping vocal abilities. The song is achieving widespread exposure with plays at Radio 2 from Dermot O’Leary, Zoe Ball and Joe Whiely, while it has also been featured as Virgin Radio’s recent ‘Record Of The Week’ and soundtracks the Boots No.7 televised and online advert.

Dan has gained critical acclaim across the world following his debut release on Atlantic Records with ‘Moonlight’ earlier this year. He has become a big live draw across the UK and Europe and has just completed a 16-date sold out headline tour, including a headline show at London’s OMEARA last night. He’s also played a number of high profile festivals this summer including Latitude and Barn On The Farm among many others.

With the release of ‘Hideaway’ we find the Shrewsbury singer at his most bold and determined yet, delivering an impressive statement as one of the most exciting new voices in the UK today. His debut album will be released next year.

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX FILM ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF

“HOME” BY ACTOR, MULTI-PLATINUM AND GRAMMY NOMINATED SINGER NICK JONAS FROM FERDINAND SOUNDTRACK

Original song from the forthcoming animated feature released today

Twentieth Century Fox today announced the release of “Home” an original song by Nick Jonas from the forthcoming animated feature FERDINAND.

“I’ve always wanted to write an original song for a film,” says Jonas. “When they showed me the materials of the movie, FERDINAND, a story I was familiar with, I was thrilled.”

FERDINAND tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover.

Jonas says “Home” encompasses the film’s theme of acceptance. “I wrote this song with good friends of mine Justin Tranter and Nick Monson,” says Jonas. “And we wrote about feeling accepted and feeling loved, wherever that place is for you. For me it’s home, it’s my family, people I have closest to me; and the experiences we’ve shared.”

FERDINAND is directed by Carlos Saldanha, the director of “Rio” and inspired by the beloved book “The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson. The heartwarming animated comedy adventure features an all-star cast that includes John Cena, Kate McKinnon, Gina Rodriguez, Anthony Anderson and many more. It will be released by Twentieth Century Fox on December 15, 2017. The film’s soundtrack will be release by Island Records on December 1, 2017.

TIM MCGRAW & FAITH HILL: Soul2Soul World Tour 2017 (Review)

IMG_0712

Hey there music lovers!! I’m back with another live show review! Yesterday afternoon, my niece’s mom sent me a text asking if I was a fan of country music. Now, admittedly, I love all kinds of music, but country isn’t my top choice. However, I love me some Faith Hill and Tim McGraw! When I heard she had tickets to their show last night in Sunrise, FL, I had to say YESSSSSSSS!

I invited my cowboy-boot-wearing, country-music-loving friend and we drove out in the rain to catch the show. This might’ve been the first time in my life that I went to a show where I didn’t know every song being played, but it didn’t even matter!

The show opened up with Locash, who I, personally, had never heard of before, but they sounded great. They did a fantastic job at hyping up the crowd before Faith & Tim came out, which is always a solid accomplishment for an opening act. I’m always open to new music, so I’ll definitely be checking them out now after seeing them perform live.

One thing I want to note about the show was that the visual effects and staging were SO good. I even want to say the whole set up was one of the best I’ve ever seen–and I’ve been to A LOT of live shows! There were hi-def lasers, floating lights, moving see-through banners and hi-def visuals on the huge screen on stage. I don’t think there could have been one bad seat in the house because most of the performances were put up on the screen like this:

IMG_0677

The vocals throughout the entire show were well worth the soggy shoes I was wearing for almost four hours (did I mention it was raining?). The two swapped off between singing duets and doing their own solo music, and everything really flowed nicely. The one thing I admire about these two is how they’ve been married for 21 years, they have three beautiful daughters, yet they still look (and act) like they’re dating. The fact that they did this joint tour together is a testament to that and it was adorable! They had so much energy throughout the entire show as well, which kept the energy in the crowd on fire the whole time!

Now I’ll leave you with one of the cutest pictures I took from the show last night:

#MusicMonday | Sam Smith, Maroon 5, One Republic, Jordan Fisher, In Real Life & Fall Out Boy

IMG_0525

What’s up, everyone??

Welcome to #MusicMonday here at According to Kristin! I’ve been wanting to get a bit more personal on the blog, and Music is the most personal for me…so here we are! I’ll be posting here on certain Mondays, and sometimes I might add in a podcast or two. I’m hoping to have guests on and even try scheduling some interviews, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know! Let me know what you’re currently listening to, what albums and tours you’re excited about. You can even tag me on Twitter with a performance you think I should check out. I’m open to all suggestions!

I’ve always been a music fanatic, so I’m sure Mondays will be extra therapeutic for me now as I’ll be able to discuss all of the aspects that make up one of my first loves. Music is my escape from the world. When I’m stressed at work, the power of an ear bud is priceless. I just pop one into my ear and the calmness takes over. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without it (both music, and the ear bud lol).

So, here are some of the things that have interested me in the music world this week:

Sam Smith
has (finally) announced a new album and tour, following the release of his newest single, “Too Good At Goodbyes.” The single is lit and the album and tour are sure to be just as incredible-it IS Sam Smith, after all. The album is titled “The Thrill Of It All” and will be available on November 3rd. You can pre-order the album on his web store HERE. You can also follow him on Twitter and Instagram by clicking on the respective links.

Not to be left out, Maroon 5 (@maroon5) also announced details for their new album, titled “Red Pill Blues,” set to be released on the same day, November 3rd. Here is the track listing for both the 12-Track Standard Edition and the 15-Track Deluxe Edition of their sixth studio album:

One song that I’m really enjoying this week is One Republic‘s “Rich Love,” and you can catch the video for that below:

If you haven’t seen One Republic (@onerepublic) live before, I strongly suggest you change that. I saw them in West Palm Beach, FL when they went on tour with The Script (who will definitely make an appearance on #MusicMonday) and it was nothing short of amazing. They’re high energy throughout the whole show and their vocals are always on point. Do it and you can thank me later!

The next two artists that I want to mention are both signed to Hollywood Records.

Jordan Fisher (@jordan_fisher) is a triple-threat who is soon to be dominating the charts with his upcoming debut album. He’s currently dancing his way to the mirror ball trophy on Dancing With the Stars, he has a new single, “Mess,” which was released last week and an album that is on its way to the shelves. Not sure if you familiar with him? He was on Broadway with the hit show Hamilton, he was on Disney’s Teen Beach Movie and he also played Doody on the live version of Grease. Check out his new single, “Mess,” wherever you download/stream music and also feel free to check out his videos on YouTube. Again…you can thank me later! I’m just wondering if dude could show me how to dance lol!

I’ve posted a few times about In Real Life (@inreallife) because they’re new to the scene and they deserve the exposure. I was exposed to them when my niece started watching ABC’s Boy Band, and my friend Jesus @thisfunktional got a chance to speak with them out in California last week at the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor event. I was excited for them when I found out that they’ll be under Johnny Wright’s wing for the duration (hopefully) of their career because he’s worked with some of the best in the industry! Their debut single, “Eyes Closed,” has done well since its release and they have a fantastic marketing team that has been putting them in some of the best places since the show ended. They’re currently playing little shows while they record new music and they just wrapped a music video for their original Christmas song that should be released soon.

Last, but certainly not least…my little sis, Brancey, absolutely loves Fall Out Boy (@falloutboy), so it wouldn’t be a discussion about music without talking about their new single and their pushed back “Mania” album, set to release in January 2018.

You can hear Brancey and I rambling on the podcast below. Also, don’t mind the little section in the middle where Skype decided it hated us and cut off our recording lol. Shout out to Jesus for splicing them together for us lmao!

IN REAL LIFE Talks with @ThisFunktional at the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor

IMG_9911

Jesus of ThisFunktional.com & According to Kristin got the chance to speak with newly formed boy band, In Real Life, at the Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor event in Long Beach, CA.

After winning spots in the final band on ABC’s Boy Band, a debut single that charted soon after its release, a debut video that has surpassed the milestone of 1 million views, a contract with Hollywood Records and a manager (Johnny Wright) who has worked with some of the top artists in the industry (*NSYNC, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys), In Real Life is in a great place right now and this is only the beginning.

With some long distance help from yours truly, they spoke with Jesus about getting more involved in the writing process, how much creative control they’re being given, being role models and working with Johnny Wright.

Check out the interview below:

Meet the guys:

Chance Perez, 19, of Seal Beach, CA – He’s a loving father of a beautiful 2-year-old girl, Brooklyn, and was a fan favorite on ABC’s Boy Band from the beginning. Chance almost gave up on music in order to pursue a career as a firefighter, but luckily he gave the show a chance and made the final 5.

Drew Ramos, 19, of Bronx, NY – Drew won us over during his audition when he proudly stated that he was a momma’s boy. His love for music led him to singing on the subway in NY and now he’s 1/5 of the world’s newest boy band. He’s a self-proclaimed nerd who loves Star Wars and video games, and we’re all on board!

Michael Conor, 18, of Cleveland, OH – Michael gave fans something different throughout his time on the show. Not only is he a creative genius who can rap & freestyle his way out of anything, he’s also a violinist and a loving big brother. At times Michael had to work harder than most in order to embrace the singing part of the show, but he succeeded and made his way to the final band.

Sergio Calderon, Jr., 16, of Redwood City, CA – Sergio also brought something different to the show by adding Spanish verses to the songs. He gave up his dream of playing professional soccer in order to pursue a career in music. Now he’s part of In Real Life, singing and making everyone laugh one day at a time.

Brady Tutton, 15, Shorewood, WI – Brady was one of the youngest on the show, but proved his talent when he sang in Italian during his audition and consistently wowed the judges each week. As a classically trained singer, an actor, and an all-around lovable guy, Brady gets to showcase his talent with his unofficial big brothers.

Also, check out this adorable shout out Jesus managed to get for my niece and me since we weren’t able to be there:

2017 MTV Video Music Awards Review | #VMAs #MTV

MTV_VMA_Katy_Perry_2-1280x487[1]

I have to admit that, in recent years, I’ve skipped the VMAs because they just haven’t been what they used to be. This year, however, I stuck around and watched it with my niece, and while some moments were fantastic, others fell short. Here’s my take:

Katy Perry hosted the show this year and I felt like she fell a little flat. She has a great personality in that she can make fun of herself and she has a really quirky sense of humor that is rather infectious, but I feel like she might have done better with a co-host. The jokes fell flat sometimes and it felt a bit forced.

I was happy with the performances for the most part. MTV allowed some people (:::cough cough::: Fifth Harmony) to take forever giving their acceptance speeches, so they made up in time by cutting the length of some performances, which I thought was odd. In all honesty, I could’ve done without Lorde’s interpretive dancing to her new single (with no live singing whatsoever) in exchange for seeing some more awards being announced or full performances. Especially the Linkin Park tribute that Jared Leto so eloquently introduced. It’s been reported that Lorde was suffering from the flu, so if that was the reason for not actually singing, then I give her credit for still showing up. If I had the flu, my ass would’ve been in bed, under the covers with a box of tissues binge-watching something on Netflix, not jumping around on stage.

We also got an exclusive premiere of Taylor Swift’s new single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” Now, I’m all for the exclusive premieres because they’ve done that for years, but 1) Taylor Swift wasn’t even in attendance and 2) It felt like the video was like 10 minutes long. Again, I would’ve rather seen some more live performances or awards being announced.

Either way, there was a huge theme going on throughout the show where celebrities used their platform to address important issues going on in the world right now and I applaud them for speaking up without hesitation. Paris Jackson, daughter of the late Michael Jackson, used her time as a presenter to say,  “I hope we leave here tonight remembering that we must show these Nazi, white supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country that as a nation with liberty as our slogan we have zero tolerance for their violence, hatred, and their discrimination,” adding: “We must resist.”

P!nk accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and used her time to speak up about self-image and how her six-year-old daughter felt she was ugly because she felt she looked like a boy.  P!nk addressed her daughter and all others struggling with self-acceptance by saying, “We take the gravel in the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty. …And you, my darling girl, are beautiful. I love you.”

One of my favorite moments was when Logic, Khalid and Alessia Cara performed “1-800-273-8255” and sent an extremely powerful message about mental health to everyone listening. The artists performed the song, whose title is the phone number to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, surrounded by a large group of suicide attempt survivors. You can watch the performance below and listen to the speech at the end for yourself (and you definitely should) OR you can read the speech here:

“I just wanna take a moment right now to thank you all so much for giving me a platform to talk about something that mainstream media doesn’t wanna talk about: mental health, anxiety, suicide, depression and so much more that I talk about on this album, from racism, discrimination, sexism, domestic violence, sexual assault and so much more. I don’t give a damn if you’re black, white or any color in between. I don’t care if you’re Christian, you’re Muslim, you’re gay, you’re straight. I am here to fight for your equality because I believe that we are all born equal, but we are not treated equally, and that is why we must fight. We must fight for the equality of every man, woman and child regardless of race, religion, color, creed and sexual orientation. So I say here and now, if you believe in this message and my message of peace, love and positivity and equality for all, then I demand that you rise to your feet and applaud, not only for yourselves, but for the foundation we are laying for our children.”

You can listen to what Brancey and I thought of the show by clicking play below:

Here are a few of my favorite performances of the night:

Meet Your Newest Boy Band!! @InRealLife | #boybandabc #music #InRealLife

IMG_9911

You guys!!! For the past 10 weeks, we’ve had the chance to watch a group of young boys work their butts off as they competed for a spot in the newest boy band, which has now been revealed as IN REAL LIFE.

I started watching the show because I’m fascinated by the inner workings of these types of shows, and also because I grew up in the boy band era and simply can’t forget my roots! There was really no intention to continue watching past the first episode, but I got reeled in alongside my thirteen-year-old niece, Briana. I never would’ve imagined that I would become so invested in another boy band experiment, but this one was different to me.

All of the boys on the show ranged in age from 14-19 (after some 20-somethings had been eliminated) and had such a positivity about them that was infectious. These boys showed love to their families, they showed love and affection towards each other and aside from the MILD drama here and there behind the scenes, it was so refreshing to get caught up in something with some positivity. I can say that, personally, it’s brought a bonding between my niece, my mom & I that I appreciate so much. My niece was able to witness a group of people around her age that were working hard for something they really wanted to accomplish and never faltered in their love and respect for themselves or for others. A message I hope she retains for her own future.

IMG_9910I can’t say that the final band was my top 5 throughout the season though. Initially, our top 5 was JHype, Michael Conor, Chance, Drew and Mikey. When JHype (wrongfully) got eliminated, his spot on our list went to Marcus. However, that’s not to say that I’m upset about the final band either. I think any of the final 8 would have been a great addition. Jaden Gray has one of THE best voices I’ve ever heard and I truly hope he continues pursuing a career in music because it would be tragic if he didn’t. Marcus also has that star quality that I’m sure will drive his already budding solo career forward. We’re mostly sad for Mikey because I really think he fought for his spot in the band. After being in the bottom two (WRONGFULLY) twice, he still managed to win America over in the voting process and made it to the final 8. I was really hoping that they would add a 6th member to the band, but I’m just hoping he doesn’t give up on music because he’s such a personable and lovable kid with talent and the motivation to succeed. He definitely won us over, and we’ll continue to support anything he does after this.

With that being said…the final band is:

Chance Perez, Michael Conor, Drew Ramos, Brady Tutton and Sergio Calderon!!

You can watch their first performance of ‘Eyes Closed’ below. Keep in mind that they didn’t know who was in the band until right before this performance, so as each person was announced throughout the hour episode, they were given specific parts of the song that belonged to them on the final recording. Each person had to learn every part of the song in preparation for the final decision. I give them A TON of credit for knocking out this performance with so little mistakes! I can’t wait to see where this takes them, and here’s to hoping for a tour that reunites the boys with past contestants (:::cough cough::: JHype, Jaden, Mikey and Marcus)!! Here’s to also hoping that Timbaland and Justin Timberlake reach out to JHype too! lol.

Make sure to download the actual recording on whichever platform you use for downloading or streaming music too! Let’s get these boys some exposure!

@NikkiSixx Announces 10th Anniversary Release of The Heroin Diaries w/New Merch! | #music

IMG_9892

Hello, everyone!

Here’s a bit of backstory . . . my oldest brother has always been a fan of Motley Crue, and that was passed down to me at an early age. I’d gotten laid off in 2008 and he offered me his ticket to FanFest even though it would’ve been his first time seeing them live. To repay him, I took him to see Motley Crue twice in the past four years before they put an end to touring. There’s a bond that music can form between two completely different people and that has always been appreciated.

DH0NJHUVYAE9t2-[1]When The Heroin Diaries was released in 2007, it quickly became one of my favorites. I even shared the book with some of my friends who wouldn’t have necessarily thought to pick it up at the bookstore. After reading my copy, they actually did go out and buy it for themselves. Personally, I’ve never done any sort of drug, but reading about his struggle with addiction and the struggle to regain control of his life was heart wrenching and I couldn’t put the book down. To know that someone struggled that bad and has now been sober for so many years is incredible. You will definitely find yourself wondering how he survived this time in his life, but that’s what makes his whole life story so interesting. I also think of this book as a sort of cautionary tale to anyone considering taking any drugs.

If you haven’t read this biography, here is the unofficial synopsis:

The book is a 413-page collection of diary entries written between Christmas of 1986 and Christmas of 1987. In considerable detail, the diaries chronicle the recording of Mötley Crüe’s Girls, Girls, Girls album and the subsequent Girls Girls Girls tour, ending with Sixx’s near-death from a heroin overdose in late 1987, which inspires the band to quit heroin altogether.

With the 10th Anniversary of the release approaching, Sixx is partnering with PledgeMusic to release special editions of the book, which include 2 brand new chapters, as well as deluxe editions, a graphic novel, signed copies of certain items, CD and Vinyl versions of the soundtrack by Sixx: A.M. (which is also FANTASTIC) and more. You can check out the link below to pre-order your merch:

ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE
“OUR FAVOURITE SONGS RIGHT NOW!”
“Like the Strokes reborn as Queen super-fans – right down to singer Luke Spiller’s amazingly spot-on Freddie Mercury impression.”

Due to overwhelming demand, The Struts’ exclusive UK headline show on Monday 18th September – announced last week for The Garage, Islington – will now be at Camden’s Electric Ballroom.

Already proving to be the hottest ticket in town, the flamboyant four-piece stride back across the Atlantic to play in London in celebration of their brand new single ‘One Night Only’, ahead of their massive US tour with Foo Fighters in October.

The recently-released lyric video captures the band in true rock’n’roll style, and is the perfect taster for their hugely anticipated second album, due next year. It’s the follow up to their critically acclaimed 2016 debut Everybody Wants.

Having recently played to over 60,000 fans supporting The Who in Quebec to a rapturous reception, and being included in Rolling Stone Magazine’s Playlist alongside the likes of NIN, Chance The Rapper and St Vincent, The Struts’ meteoric rise continues a-pace. ‘One Night Only’ has set fire to American radio and looks set to be the breakout hit of the summer.

The single has been greeted with rave reviews in the UK with Kerrang magazine devoting two pages to the band’s magnificent return and The Sun declaring, “’One Night Only’ is an anthemic and bombastic tune inspired by the glory days of British glam rock.”

Classic Rock claim, “The Struts continue their inexorable march to world domination with [their] effervescent new song… a typically huge chorus and bits that sound like Queen and little bits that sound a bit like Coldplay, machined-tooled for swaying audiences and drunken, communal singalongs”, whilst music blogs across the spectrum have been hailing the genius of the new single.

The Struts are Luke Spiller, Adam Slack (guitar), Jed Elliott (bass) and Gethin Davies (drums).

ARTIST TO WATCH: WENS | “Bones” @wensmusic #music

FullSizeRenderWhat’s up, music lovers?!

If you know me at all, you know how much I LOVE finding new artists to listen to. Thankfully, I also have great taste in TV shows that introduce me to a plethora of amazing new music every week!

Last week was no exception, as I learned about a new artist, WENS. Her track, “Bones,” was featured on an episode of Teen Wolf and it’s been stuck in my head ever since!

To the left is the track artwork featured on Apple Music and below is the audio for the song on YouTube. This song has a blend of R&B and almost alternative vocals on top of a hip-hop influenced track. It’s a creative fusion of incredible sounds and I can’t wait to hear more from this Los Angeles native.

You can find WENS on Twitter HERE and you can check out the song below:
