Highly acclaimed Swedish pop duo I Am Karate have released their brand new single ‘News’.

The new single features a bouncy tropical rhythm alongside a gigantic chorus and shimmering pop production as the band addresses the search for fame and love.

Regarding the single I Am Karate say, “This song is about someone chasing a dream and the spotlight, but if you take a closer look it’s also a love story. UK trio Bang Bang Romeo are celebrating the release of their Shame On You EP, which is out now via Five Seven Music.

Having recently signed a worldwide deal with the label as part of the Eleven Seven Music Label Group, in August the three-piece performed a very special showcase in London to mark the release before they joined the eccentric Electric Six for a show at Nambucca.

Speaking about the EP, vocalist Anastasia “Stars” Walker reveals, “This is a biggy, isn’t it?  I mean, this EP includes songs that myself and Ross wrote when we were pretty much just kids, writing down lyrics at 3am whilst not catching up on enough sleep for school the next day, to songs we wrote in the land of Hollywood just round the corner from Sunset Boulevard in the Spring of 2018.

The EP opens with the title-track and recent breakthrough single ‘Shame On You’, which has already amassed over 150,000 YouTube views for the video and has been played at Radio X, 6 Music, MTV Rocks and more.

Also featuring is the uplifting ‘Cemetery’ followed by the show-stopping ‘Adore Me’, which soars to a grand performance with Stars’ vocal finesse taking centre stage, perfectly wrapped in euphoric guitar lines and solid drums. The empowering ‘Bag Of Bones’ reflects on recognising self-worth while EP closer ‘Chemical’ echoes the band’s larger-than-life quality and ability to transpire emotion to their listeners.

Bang Bang Romeo have spent the summer playing festivals, shows and Pride events up and down the country, impressing crowds with their stunning live performances and theatrical indie pop-rock.

Fronted by the extraordinary vocal powerhouse Stars – who is a charismatic performer in the lineage of Stevie Nicks, Adele, Beth Ditto and Florence Welch – and backed up by Ross Cameron (guitars) and Richard Gartland (drums), the Doncaster outfit were personally invited by legendary promoter John Giddings to open the Main Stage for the Isle of Wight 50th Anniversary and played to the biggest opening crowd the festival has ever had. They also made appearances at Goat Festival, Victorious festival and topped the City Hall Lawns stage at Cardiff Pride in August.

In contrast to the track’s title, Boston-based alt pop/rock trio shallow pools stay high above water with their new single “Sinking,” out NOW. The follow up to their debut single “It’s A You Thing.”, which was released earlier this summer, “Sinking” focus on the daily struggles that come with general anxiety. Their sound continues to expand on influences of both pop rock and alternative, while maintaining meaningful (and painstakingly relatable) lyrics. shallow pools has kept busy as of lately – the trio has played a slew of shows with national touring acts, such as Smartpunk Records’ RIVALS, around the state of Massachusetts, premiering their upcoming Fall EP tracks to new audiences.

“Sinking” kicks off with a pulsing guitar riff, demonstrating the band’s clear
alternative inspirations, but quickly mellows out throughout the verses, eerily replicating the emotional rollercoaster experienced in anxiety. It’s clear that shallow pools knows what they’re advocating, but especially seeing as the band strives to promote inclusivity in their art, the trio are undeniably authentic in their lyricism and instrumentation. Recorded at Reclaim Studios, the trio hopes to continue promoting their brand of inclusion through their 5-track EP later this fall. About the release of “Sinking”, the band states:

a daily basis. The song explores the fear of opening up to others and asking for help.”

shallow pools is a three-piece alternative/pop rock band from Massachusetts consisting of Jess Gromada (guitar), Glynnis Brennan (vocals, bass), and Ali Ajemian (drums). The trio became friends in 2012, and started out playing acoustic covers for fun around their hometown. In early 2016, the group decided it was time to give songwriting a shot. They released an EP under a different name and played at notable Boston venues including the Middle East Downstairs and Upstairs, O’Brien’s, and the Hard Rock. As the group continued to evolve and grow sonically and aesthetically, a change in name was inevitable and in April of 2018 shallow pools surfaced.

With a combination of rhythmic guitar, catchy melodies, and expressive lyrics, shallow pools offers a unique sound that bridges the gap between alternative and pop rock. They use music as a form of therapy, and lyrically draw inspiration from their own hardships ranging from loss, to strained relationships, to depression and anxiety. The group wants to establish a welcoming environment for people of all ages, sexualities, and gender identities. They understand the importance of LGBTQIA+ and female representation and hope that embracing their own identities will inspire others to do the same. After solidifying a new name and musical direction, the trio recorded with Chris Curran at Reclaim Music Studios in Thompson, CT. shallow pools released their debut single “It’s A You Thing.” in mid-July. Shortly after the release of  “It’s A You Thing.,” shallow pools will be opening for national touring acts such as VISTA and Walkney. “Sinking” is out NOW.

From Ashes to New have released their new music video for ‘Broken’, the follow-up single to their hit ‘Crazy’, which recently reached #2 on the U.S. Rock Radio chart. The track conveys a message of perseverance and believing in yourself when others try to push you down and hold you back in life. It’s a recurring theme in their music which is very personal to the band.

Their debut album Day One earned the band a Top 10 track at Rock Radio with the single ‘Through It All’.  Following  an extensive album cycle,  the band’s original drummer and co-vocalist both abruptly left the band. Rather than focusing on the setbacks, From Ashes to New forged ahead with a new energy and purpose.

The band, now comprised of frontman/rapper/programmer Matt Brandyberry, guitarist Lance Dowdle, vocalist Danny Case, and drummer Mat Madiro (Trivium) released their second album, The Future earlier this year, via Eleven Seven Music.

The band is touring the U.S. extensively for the rest of the year, with a headline run throughout September and October and are working on plans for a European tour in early 2019.

In addition to their U.S. headline tour, they will be opening for Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin on their autumn arena tour and will also be performing at several festivals, as well as providing direct support for Stone Sour and Papa Roach on select dates. Rising star Morgan Evans made a stop at Tootsie’s on Nashville’s historic Broadway last night to reveal the surprise release of his self-titled EP, out now. In the spirit of the EP’s brand new, live-in-the-moment track, ‘Young Again’, Evans treated fans to an impromptu round of shots to celebrate the moment.

Bringing it full circle, Tootsie’s was the Australia native’s first stop when he visited Nashville for the first time 10 years ago – dropping his bags and arriving on Broadway less than two hours after his plane landed.

“More and more when I experience big life and career moments, they remind me of all the little ones that happened before and made them possible”, Evans told The Tennessean. “I remember that moment as one of the defining ones, thinking, ‘This is the greatest city on Earth.’”

‘Young Again’ has quickly become a fan-favorite at Evans’ dynamic, one-of-a-kind live show where he commands the stage solo with his signature loop pedal. A fun party anthem that throws caution to the wind, the song couples carefree sing-along lyrics with a driving beat.

Produced by Chris DeStefano, the EP is a glimpse at Evans’ Warner Music Nashville / Warner Bros. Records full-length debut album, due out this autumn. The talented singer/songwriter co-penned each track on the EP and the forthcoming album.

Canadian alt-pop quartet ROMES have released their brand new Beyonce-inspired track ‘Out Of It’, out now via Five Seven Music. This is the first taste of their upcoming second album, the follow-up to their self-titled 2017 debut.

‘Out Of It’ was produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Phoenix, Fitz and the Tantrums, M83) and the official music video was directed by drummer Nicolas Amadeus in Northern Ontario, Canada.

“We’ve been playing ‘Out Of It’ at our shows this year and have always had people come up to us after the shows, asking what it was. Inspired by the fans passion for the song, we decided to go back into the studio with Tony and record a studio version”, frontman Jacob Alexander explains. “The writing was inspired by Beyonce. I just imagine Queen B on stage doing that leg move she does, belting out the lyrics”.

ROMES is comprised of brothers Jacob Alexander (vocals) and Nicolas Amadeus (drums), Andrew Keyes (bass) and James Tebbitt (guitar). The childhood friends met while attending school in Ireland, connecting over their mutual passion for rock music and undeniable chemistry as musicians.

Due to overwhelming fan demand Bad Wolves – the US rock band who emerged as the #1 breakout act globally this year – have moved forward their touring plans and announced that their first ever UK & European shows will happen this October alongside Three Days Grace.

Earlier this year the band released their version of The Cranberries ‘Zombie’, which soared to success all over the world, and has been certified Gold in the United States and Australia as well as Platinum in Canada. The track has topped charts worldwide, including the U.S. iTunes overall and rock charts, Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, Spotify’s Global Viral 50, both the UK Rock Chart and Metal Chart, and the Shazam charts while also reigning atop the Canadian and American Rock radio charts for eight and three straight weeks, respectively.

The official music video, a tribute to the late singer Dolores O’Riordan of the Cranberries and an homage to the original, has garnered over 125 million views across platforms and in June this year, Bad Wolves presented a $250,000 check to Dolores O’Riordan’s four children, fulfilling the promise to donate all of their proceeds.

The follow up single ‘Hear Me Now’ feat. Rising pop star Emma Blackery has released her brand new single ‘Take Me Out’, taken from her forthcoming debut album Villains out August 31st through RWG Records.

‘Take Me Out’ has featured on six Spotify ‘New Music Friday’ playlists today including the UK. It’s a huge pop banger stacked with attitude and boasting a massive chorus.

Regarding the single Emma says, “I’m really excited for everyone to hear it. It’s a song I really connect with and one of my favourites from Villains. The song deals with feelings of paranoia when you are feeling exposed and isolated by your friends.”

Toby Scott (Little Mix, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays) has produced ‘Take Me Out’, and was also behind Emma’s recent singles ‘Icarus’, ‘Agenda’ and ‘Dirt’, which are all taken from her forthcoming album Villains.

Villains is a record inspired by a period of reflection and one that invites listeners on Emma’s journey from, as she explains, “feeling so paranoid that I risked becoming a person I didn’t like, to letting go of all of that hurt”.

The atmospheric album opener ‘Villains Pt. 1’ sees her declare, “I am a nightmare… designed to destroy” over a beat that drips with menace. Elsewhere, ‘Petty’ (“You used to call me pretty, then you took out the “r””) flirts with tropical house, and her restrained vocal on ballad ‘What I Felt With You’ simmers with longing. By the album’s explosive closer, ‘Villains Pt. 2’, Emma is forced to consider her own part in her downfall, asking, “Am I kidding myself, blaming somebody else, I’m my own biggest villain.” On creating the album Emma says, “Writing the album was so cathartic. Music is my therapy.”

In support of the album’s release the Essex-born singer has announced an HMV in-store tour where she will be signing copies of Villains and performing songs from the album live. HMV will be stocking exclusive yellow edition color vinyl of the new album and the tour will call at seven stores across the country.

Following this Emma will be head out on an extensive headline tour across the UK and Europe, which will finish with a headline show at London’s KOKO on October 25th. Full Emma Blackery tour dates can be found below:

Hey there, movie lovers!

On my lunch break at work the other day, I decided to check out this movie on Hulu. I hadn’t heard of it before, but it starred Alan Powell, who I really enjoyed on this last season of Quantico. You might also recognize him as one of the former members of Christian band, Anthem Lights.

I quickly realized that this was a Christian-themed movie, which actually tied in really well with the storyline. I’m not a religious person, but I think the balance played well for viewers who are and for viewers–like me–who aren’t. With that being said, I can’t offer my opinion on how well it actually ties in with the story of King Solomon, so my opinion is solely based on the movie itself.

SYNOPSIS: An aspiring singer-songwriter’s life and marriage suffer when the song he writes for his wife propels him to stardom.

There is a heavy voice-over reciting the story of King Solomon (I only know this because I googled it lol) that I felt sort of overpowered certain scenes. Jed (Alan Powell) provides the voice-over and while his voice is great for voice-overs, I just was not grasping it in its entirety. I was more focused on what was happening in the scene.

The storyline is one that we’ve seen fairly often. An up-and-coming musician finds his muse, hits it big, gets wrapped up in the fame, ruins certain aspects of his life and then seeks redemption. However, Alan Powell does such a great job at playing the love-sick husband and the douchebag musician that his performance almost gives the story a fresh spin. The other performances were surprisingly good as well.

It wasn’t my favorite film I’ve ever seen, but it was definitely worth the hour and 56 minutes of watching it. I’m a sucker for films that include a live performance aspect, so I might be biased in saying that I did really enjoy this one.

Hello again, music lovers!

I’ve been to a lot of live shows in the past two months or so, but it’s still not enough! This time, my niece and I got to see Sam Smith’s ‘The Thrill of It All Tour’ at the American Airlines Arena in Downtown Miami on July 14th. Sadly, our seats were in the nosebleeds, but it didn’t even take away from the incredible show that he put on for everyone.

The show started promptly at 8pm with his opening act for the night, Cam. Cam is a country singer who I’d never heard of before, but she has a great voice. She was interacting with the crowd throughout her set and really tried to get people to see a personal side to her. This isn’t an easy task when you know the crowd is there to see someone else. With that being said, I felt like she held her own up there! I would definitely check out her music HERE.

Sam’s set began at about 9pm and lasted almost 2 hours. I’m not sure if it’s because of where we were sitting, but the sound for this show was absolutely fantastic. Sometimes at live shows, you can’t hear what the artist is saying because of the acoustics in the venue and where your seats are. This one, however, sounded great. Here’s what the setlist for our show looked like:

At one point, Sam addressed the sadness in his songs by joking, “I was sitting in my home and realized how fucking depressing my music is.” He wanted to make it a point not to have us leave the room “feeling like shit” afterward and I think he succeeded.

One of my favorite moments of the night was during “I’m Not the Only One” when he put his mic down and had the entire crowd singing his words back to him. It was so loud and beautiful. Those are always my favorite moments during a live show, but this one seemed particularly moving.

There was also a fantastic moment at the end of “HIM” where the lights went out and a light bar on stage lit up in rainbow colors.

One thing that I found particularly funny was right before the encore performances. The amount of people that were walking out was puzzling. I had to ask my niece if they were new to the art that is a live show. You don’t leave until the lights come up, people!

To be quite honest, despite the distance of our seats from the stage, this was one of my top 3 shows I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to A LOT). Everything about it was worth the mission getting to the AAA. If you have a chance to catch the show, I highly recommend it. You can even get the “cheap” seats and still have a great time!

Get out there and support a musician who wears his heart on his sleeve and is unapologetically proud to be who he is — a musician with true talent and a voice we all love.

Gearing up for their upcoming July 13th EP release, Baltimore alt pop/rock band Thunder Club have dropped their newest single, “Go Ahead,” out TODAY. Filled out with warm, glossy guitars and catchy bass-and-drum verses, “Go Ahead” is the perfect in-between style and sound with it’s fellow EP tracks, not yet released. With a sweet, nostalgic feel, soaring harmonies, and hook-laden guitar parts, “Go Ahead” is a summery track layered with electric energy and intricate production. The band most recently previewed new material at LAUNCH Music Conference. About the single, Thunder Club states:

“Go Ahead” is a sweet and instantly nostalgic song that features soaring harmonies and guitars that are an instant hook, and is sure to get stuck in your head upon first listen. Starting with warm, glossy guitars before descending into a catchy bass-and-drum verse that serves as the perfect backdrop for the endearing vocals that follow, “Go Ahead” is the perfect in-between in style and sound with its fellow EP tracks with the simple, upbeat arrangement present on “Pocketbook Lover” and the layered, detailed production present on “Hot Words”. “Go Ahead” is a bittersweet love song told from the perspective of someone who is deciding whether to continue in a rocky relationship or let the other person go ahead. Thunder Club was then nominated for WTMD’s “Best New Artist”, and had their hit track “Racer” featured on the Charm City Sampler, a compilation of the year’s best Baltimore acts. In addition, they were guests on the popular podcast “Live from the Studio,” where they showcased their youthful spirit and musical chops. Thunder Club has since brought their high-energy show to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where the band was featured in Long’s Park Summer Series and the nationally recognized LAUNCH Music Conference.

Award-winning UK pop star George Shelley has today released his debut solo single ‘Technicolour’ on the new forward-thinking record label Touch Recordings. He’ll be performing the track live on stage at the huge Pride celebrations tomorrow in London’s Trafalgar Square.

‘Technicolour’, produced with Alex Beitzke and Bradley Spence (Florence + The Machine, Gabrielle Aplin, Take That) is a bouncy pop tune pulling together house beats and synths to create a huge dance anthem celebrating a triumphant fresh start for the singer after battling personal tragedy and family loss.

Regarding the single George says, “Kicking off summer with ‘Technicolour’ feels like a fresh start for me. The song has me rebelling at the top of my lungs against everything I was afraid of in the past, and marks a new era for my music, music that has undeniably helped me through a challenging journey. I just want everyone to really feel the love and joy in the song, and find the happiness and pride in the lyrics.”

George Shelley originally rose to fame as a founding member of Union J, scoring three Top 10 singles and winning the ‘Best British Breakthrough’ award at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.

After leaving the group in 2015, George began his career as a successful TV and radio personality. He entered the Australian jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and reached the final two. Following this he joined Capital FM as a presenter of The Capital Breakfast Show and most recently he has presented on high profile shows such as The X Factor, the Brits Red Carpet and E!’s Golden Globes coverage.

George is currently working with the BBC on a documentary detailing the hurdles he has encountered in life and how he has found ways to deal with and overcome problems which affect people across the world.

Now launching his official solo career with ‘Technicolour’, George has developed his sound into one that truly represents the man he is today. Refreshed and revitalised, it’s one that’s set to win over hearts once again.

Louisiana art-pop trio GIVERS have released their new single, ‘Love Is Like A Fire’. The track follows their previous single, ‘Collide’, both of which are taken from their newly-announced upcoming EP, Movin’ On, which is available to pre-order now.

A blend of vibrant rhythms, glistening synthesizers and ethereal vocals, the track flows seamlessly through hook-laden verses before ascending into a soaring, euphoric chorus. As with their previous releases, the track showcases their distinctive talent for drawing on eclectic influences and channelling them into beautifully artistic and infectious sonic creations.

‘Love Is Like A Fire’ is the second single to be taken from their forthcoming EP Movin’ On, which was produced by Dave Cobb and Eric Heigle and recorded at the iconic RCA Studio A in Nashville.

The lyric is a cold, hard assessment of a difficult situation but the music has a message all its own. There’s still room to flip the script. Every aspect of writing and recording this song will always be remembered with a lot of joy – from recording the basic tracks and the guitar solo at Studio X in Seattle to doing further overdubs at Nick Raskulinecz’s studio in rural Tennessee. Everyone in the band and our studio team really stepped up and knocked it out of the park on this one. We’re extremely proud of this song and the entire album.”

RAINIER FOG marks a few firsts for the band: in addition to being their first album in five years, it’s their first album for BMG and their first time recording in their hometown of Seattle in more than 20 years (worth noting that the album title is a tribute to Seattle). They recorded at Studio X, the same facility where they tracked 1995’s self-titled Alice In Chains album (back when the studio was known as Bad Animals).

The RAINIER FOG recording process also saw the band spend time at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles and at the Nashville studio of producer Nick Raskulinecz. RAINIER FOG is the third straight Alice In Chains album recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz and engineer Paul Figueroa. The album was mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool).

RAINIER FOG follows 2013’s Grammy nominated The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart at No. 2 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums charts and the iTunes Rock Album Chart. Its first two singles, ‘Stone’ and ‘Hollow’, both shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and ‘Voices’ hit No. 3. All three tracks stayed on the chart for over 20 weeks.

Alice In Chains (vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell, vocalist/guitarist William DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) are currently touring Europe following two triumphant sold-out shows in the UK at Leeds O2 Academy and Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Over the course of their remarkable career, ALICE IN CHAINS have garnered multiple Grammy nominations, sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and amassed a diehard international fanbase whose members number in the millions. Although just their debut single, Toronto alternative pop/band Like Satellites show both experience and maturity on “Muscle Memory,” out NOW. A product of over two years of doing underground work, including extensive practicing, lineup changes, and writing/recording new tracks, Like Satellites, featuring lead vocalist Leah Gillespie, are characterized by their commanding melodies. “Muscle Memory,” a track inspired by a turbulent relationship, plays with feelings of teenage-esque angst, while simultaneously weaving in ambient synths, pop structures, and a slew of alternative influences, including some of Gillespie’s classic female-empowered favorites, Hey Monday, We Are The In Crowd, and Paramore. To promote the single release, Like Satellites released an accompanying lyric video, which can be viewed here. About “Muscle Memory,” the band states:

“Muscle Memory” was a song that came out of a breakup with a former band I (Leah Gillespie) was in so it’s pretty angry. It was pretty messy, and people I thought were my best friends were telling me that I was nothing without them. When I sat down to write I was bitter, angry, but mostly defiant. I love that this is the song we’re releasing first because of that. Getting all those feelings out there, and having other people love it too is like being vindicated in my belief that what we’re doing is enough.”

Like Satellites is a Toronto based alternative pop/rock band anchored by singer Leah Gillespie, and bassist Logan Arsenault. After two years of practicing, writing, and reworking their lineup they are finally releasing their much anticipated single Muscle Memory produced by Sam Guaiana (Like Pacific, Rarity, Carried Away, We Were Sharks) and mastered by Andy Krehm. They are currently playing with Ryan Goodman on guitar, and Alex Bullen on drums. With shows planned across the Toronto area, and an EP planned for this Winter, Like Satellites is poised to explode onto the music scene. From their inception in 2016, Like Satellites has been the love-child of singer/songwriter Leah Gillespie (also known as Leahishazy). 19-year-old Norwegian pop artist Trevis, has shared the vibrant, summer party video for his feel-good, Latino spiced new single ‘Way You Do It’.

The video premiered yesterday with Celebmix where Trevis revealed, “The concept for this video was to have as many people from different backgrounds, all having a good time, turning up together for a sick pool-party. I feel we definitely captured a good summer vibe, just like the song… and I like the way that it turned out…baby.”

The video was directed by multiple-platinum creative Isaac Yowman and the track was written, recorded and produced in Spain with Harmony ‘H-Money’ Samuels and Edgar ‘JV The Producer’ Etienne, who has made music for the likes of Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Fifth Harmony and Ne-Yo.

Born in Olso, Trevis’ journey started at a very young age. Part of a well-travelled family he was exposed to the music and cultures of well over 100 countries, which account for his diverse musical style and leanings. Not hailing from one place, Trevis has been inspired by many genres including pop, rock, blues, R&B and Rap.

From the age of eleven, he became involved in everything to do with music, from producing and writing songs to playing instruments, singing, rapping and dancing. He went on to spend three years as an exchange student in Los Angeles and was swallowed up by music and dance in the pop culture’s capital and has since been working with producers, songwriters and choreographers.

Before Christmas, Trevis debuted his first wave of music and has released the four tracks ‘Hard To Get’, ‘Paranoid’, ‘Honey’ and ‘That’s How Love Will Do’ and is now bringing his feel-good Scandi-pop to the UK market. Stay tuned for more tracks to come throughout 2018.
