UK HEADLINE TOUR STARTS TOMORROW (APRIL 13th)

Archie Faulks has released his brand new single ‘Wonderful’ ahead of starting his debut UK headline tour starting April 13th. Kicking off at The Jacaranda in Liverpool, Archie will play a further six dates across the country, finishing with a headline show at London’s Camden Assembly on April 23rd. Tickets are available via Music Glue.

The new single ‘Wonderful’ is a beautifully melancholic love song, displaying Archie’s alluring vocals and guitar alongside a stunning string section.

Regarding the song Archie says, “‘Wonderful’ is a song inspired by the melancholy associated with the inevitable passing of time and the effect of it on the relationship of two people. A once glorious thing that, due to different paths chosen in life, could never come to fruition but is maintained through the thought of what could have been.

“It stemmed from the realization that although there was still something strong there between us, it would never grow into anything more than it had been in the fleeting months at the start of the relationship. When lonely or in pain we can seek refuge in the glory days of our pasts and perhaps dream of a time when we can recapture these moments; however in reality we know that things, no matter how hard we want them, will never be what they once were. Before you realize what you have it is gone only remaining in the memory of feelings, places and song.”

‘Wonderful’ is the latest in a string of singles released since Archie emerged last year. It follows the release of the acclaimed songs ‘Hung Up’, ‘Blackout’ and ‘It Rains’. The singles have proved radio hits with support coming from Radio 1 and Radio X and they have also clocked up over 2 million streams across Apple Music and Spotify.

The songs are a taste of Archie’s forthcoming debut album which fans have been treated to a sneak preview of during his touring last year. Archie played his first shows in the US, toured Europe with Isaac Gracie and Rue Royale, and sold out his headline shows at London’s St Pancras Old Church & Servant Jazz Quarters.

Archie kicks off his debut UK headline tour tomorrow and has also been announced to play a number of festivals in May including The Great Escape, Live At Leeds and Wood Festival. Full tour dates can be found below:

UK HEADLINE DATES IN JUNE

PLUS FESTIVAL APPEARANCES AT
ISLE OF WIGHT / BLACK DEER

The Marcus King Band have released the video for ‘Goodbye Carolina’, a poignant, lyrical ballad from their critically acclaimed album Carolina Confessions. The band have also announced a number of UK headline shows this June alongside appearances at The Isle Of Wight and Black Deer Festivals.

The video, directed by Tess Lafia and shot in Nashville, is a stunning portrayal of the pain and struggle of change, a subject that resonates with King, who recently moved to Music City from his native Greenville, South Carolina.

“With all my material, I like the listener to draw their own conclusion as to the meaning of the lyrics; I want the song to be what it means to you,” Marcus remarks. “That being said, ‘Goodbye Carolina’ came to me in a daydream, an apparition of a dear songwriter friend we had lost only a year prior. I wrote from his perspective, and often feel the song was written through me. The lyrics simultaneously describe my need to break out and escape the bad memories, loss and pain associated with my hometown, using the state as a personification of things I decided to leave behind.”

The Marcus King Band have become one of the most exciting new arrivals in American music. The band — guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Marcus King, drummer Jack Ryan, bassist Stephen Campbell, trumpeter/trombonist Justin Johnson, sax player Dean Mitchell and keyboard player DeShawn ‘D-Vibes’ Alexander – are fresh from a standout week at this year’s SXSW, including searing sets at Willie Nelson’s Luck Revival and Antone’s, which Rolling Stone named one of the festival’s 30 best performances.

The band also recently performed a mesmerising version of ‘Goodbye Carolina’ on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — watch HERE.

The video release comes as the soulful rockers embark on a high-profile international tour this summer, which sees them currently on their second trip to Japan for the Billboard Live Festival, before playing dates in Australia as a part of the Byron Bay Bluesfest, then returning home for three headlining dates at The Brooklyn Bowl in June prior to heading across to Europe and the UK.

The band then return to the States in early July to join country music juggernaut Chris Stapleton on his All-American Road Show tour. Most recently it was announced that MKB will perform as part of the historic Woodstock 50 Festival this August.

LUANA KIARA Releases Compelling Video for New Single ‘Trigger’

img_8362

Sweden by way of Gambia singer Luana Kiara has released a poignant video for her debut single ‘Trigger’.

The video addresses the issue of domestic abuse and captures Luana dancing with a man as romance begins to escalate into violence.

The song is a dark R&B roller and reinforces the message that you can never truly know the daily struggles other people face. The platinum selling and Grammy-nominated Christian Nilsson and Mårten Fohlin produced the track.

‘Trigger’ was released last month as part of the New Balance Scandinavia International Women’s Day campaign. Luana Kiara was the face of the campaign, for which ‘Trigger’ was the soundtrack, and as part of this she spoke about her background and the importance for women to stand up for themselves in a moving mini documentary.

‘Trigger’ follows Luana’s collaboration with the Scandinavian production and DJ duo Tungevaag & Raaban, where she was a featured vocalist on their smash hit ‘Bad Boy’, which was released last year and has clocked up over 14 million streams on Spotify alone.

Now stepping to the forefront with her debut single ‘Trigger’, Luana Kiara is proving herself to already be an important name on the Swedish music scene. She is a strong female figurehead and set to take the world by storm.

UK & EU TOUR STARTS THIS MONTH

The King’s Parade have released their brand new EP Mad. To mark the release the critically acclaimed London four-piece have revealed the video for their latest single ‘Mistakes’.

The ‘Mistakes’ video follows the touching story of a man on a deserted beach; while metal detecting he uncovers various items that trigger fantasy fuelled visions of a past love.

Regarding the video frontman Olly Corpe says, “The video explores how a past choice can haunt someone later in life. We wanted to push this idea to the extreme, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction throughout the narrative to create a surreal atmosphere. I think that filming the video in one continuous shot helped to make the transitions between fact and fiction uncannily seamless, while simultaneously magnifying the raw emotions of the protagonist.”

‘Mistakes’ is taken from the brand new EP Mad, which opens with the huge anthemic lead single and title track. The rest of the EP weaves between touching, soulful moments and passionate outbursts of sonic energy amid graceful melodies, captivating harmonies and enthralling songwriting.

‘Mistakes’ and ‘Mad’ have received great support from tastemakers including the likes of BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing and Clash Magazine.

Regarding the EP Olly says, “This EP feels like another step up from everything we’ve done in the past, and has allowed us to test the waters in terms of our sound.  All the songs on the EP share the common theme of longing for the past but in a way we’ve never been so excited for the future.”

The King’s Parade kicked off their headline tour in support of the Mad EP last night in Madrid and will play a further 10-dates across the UK and Europe. Full tour dates can be found below:

Pop Rock Band SWIM Drops New Single “The Chase”

IMG_8346

NY-based indie pop rock band SWIM have released their new single “The Chase,” out on all digital platforms NOW. The track, a fun and energetic piece written collectively by the band, blends together various elements of mainstream pop, rock, and indie. “The Chase” is quite nostalgic, speaking of personal doubt in a relationship, while also piecing together each band members’ instrumentation to create a sleek, cool fusion. About the single, the band states:

The Chase was written by all members of the band, slowly coming together as they wrote each section of the song. The song speaks to uncertainty and doubt that one may feel in a relationship, while struggling to make it through. What started as a simple chord progression would be recorded and polished over the course of the year to become the version that is released today.

SWIM is an indie pop-rock band established in Stony Brook, New York. Voted one of the Top 10 bands on Long Island during the summer of 2017 in Newsday’s Band Battle, SWIM has been active at venues across Long Island since 2015, following the release of their first, self-titled EP, even performing at notable local venues like 89 North (Patchogue), Revolution (Amityville), and the Rainbow Stage at Heckscher State Park. Friends since high school, SWIM has steadily grown their fan-base performing from local Long Island venues to national stages such as SXSW in Austin, TX. 2017 saw the release of Finally, Someone, SWIM’s sophomore effort. Debuting a fine-tuned, focused bid at powerful, alternative rock laced with heavy pop overtones, the record features six tracks which promise to deliver a non-stop groove and revolve around the themes of love lost, love found, and love longed-for. The album has been premiered on local radio stations like 90.1 WUSB, and several online stations. Their last single “Heartbeat Connection” has earned over 200,000 listens on Spotify. SWIM’s thought lyrics, pop melodies, and rhythmic guitar and bass accompaniments tip their hat to indie rock influences like The Strokes and The Kooks, while staying true to the group’s unique brand of pop, heavily influenced by the likes of The Lumineers, Bleachers, and Coldplay. “The Chase” is available on all digital music platforms NOW.

LIVING MIRAGE
OUT MAY 17TH
PRE-ORDER HERE

The Head And The Heart have shared the video for ‘Missed Connection’, the first track taken from their upcoming album Living Mirage, out May 17th via Parlophone Records/Reprise Records.

Featuring footage filmed in Joshua Tree, where the band came together before starting work on Living Mirage, the video follows the release of the ‘Missed Connection single in March, and comes after the release of their latest single, ‘Honeybee’, last Friday.

The palpitating-choral ‘Missed Connection’ is a poignant snapshot of the anxiety that preceded that growth spurt. “A lot of the beats on that song are quicker, and there are high hats that were never in our music before”, drummer Tyler Williams says, attributing the new sounds to their love of pop and hip-hop production. The track began as a remembrance of how Jon met his girlfriend, until morphing into a potent metaphor for the band — who met serendipitously around an open-mic night in Seattle 10 years ago — suddenly wondering, as he recalls, “Is it all going to work?”

Living Mirage lives up to its title, a shapeshifting fever dream of unease, angst, and ultimately hope. “This is literally the most work we’ve ever done on an album”, the band’s Jon Russell remarks, proudly.

The Head And The Heart will embark on an extensive 38-date US tour starting in June, following the release of their upcoming fourth album Living Mirage next month.

X AMBASSADORS Announce London Headline Show & Share ‘BOOM’ Video

IMG_7756IMG_7755

HEADLINE LONDON’S SCALA
APRIL 29TH
&
 SHARE VIDEO FOR ‘BOOM’

X Ambassadors are coming to the UK next month to play a headline show at London’s Scala on April 29th. It will be the award-winning trio’s only UK show forming part of their European run in May.

Having started the year off by releasing their funky, indie pop-rock banger ‘BOOM’, they’ve now shared the yellow and black soaked video, which was directed by award-winning filmmaker and actor Tess Elliot.

Co-written by the band and produced by Ricky Reed (Twenty One Pilots, Leon Bridges), ‘BOOM’  is a song about recovery and personal revolutions. As it’s beat rocks, personal demons and toxic relationships recede in the rearview mirror and the accompanying video depicts this strong message.

The artwork for the track is written in Braille and designed in a yellow-on-black colourway. For Casey Harris, the band’s keyboardist and Sam Harris’ brother, who was born blind, it is the first physical manifestation of his work that he has been able to experience visually and is creatively re-interpreted in the video with the use of lights.

Having clocked-up over 4.3 million streams on Spotify, ‘BOOM’ is a popping, lyrically resilient track and an exciting taster of what to expect from their upcoming album due later this year.

The eagerly anticipated second installment is the follow-up to the 2015 gold-certified, breakthrough album VHS, which spawned the multi-platinum selling singles ‘Renegades’ and ‘Unsteady’ and led the band into the mainstream consciousness and a global touring frenzy.

The band have collaborated with a number of top name artists from Imagine Dragons, Tom Morello, Eminem, Jamie N Commons, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa to the likes of Machine Gun Kelly last year on the track ‘Home’ ft. Bebe Rexha.

Formed of brothers Sam and Casey Harris alongside drummer Adam Levin, X Ambassadors’ superb live performances took UK audiences by storm and in 2017 appeared at Reading and Leeds festivals performing to a pack-out crowd on the Radio 1/NME before selling out their headline show at London’s ULU. Last year they returned to London’s Brixton Electric during their massive three-month voyage across the US and Europe and are thrilled to be back in the city next month for another incredible show at the Scala.

Renowned for delivering huge, hook-laden pop hits shaped by Sam’s exceptional vocal and songwriting skills and the band’s flawless instrumentation, the new album will see an evolution of X Ambassadors sound designed for 2019 and beyond.

UK HEADLINE TOUR IN APRIL

“A serious talent” – Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1)
“This is great” – John Kennedy (Radio X)
“His work has a sparkling melodic touch” – Clash Magazine

Archie Faulks has shared the video for his new single, ‘Hung Up’, following the announcement of his first headline tour this April.

The video premiered with CelebMix who said, “He has become renowned for his ability to plough a unique pop sound into his captivating song-writing and this is no different with ‘Hung Up’ – we absolutely love the track! The music video for the single mirrors the nature of the track, with its infectiously catchy and upbeat and up-tempo beat throughout, in both the track and music video. The video has a relatively chilled, relaxed nature to it, depicting ‘the making of a music video’, with Archie’s personality shining through in the video.”

The video sees Archie throwing himself into uninhibited exuberance, dancing through the buoyant melodies of the track and showing a brand new side of himself as a tongue-in-cheek pop star.“The video for ‘Hung Up’ was a fun idea me and Frederick Wilkinson had whilst on a photoshoot: a music video about the making of a music video,” says Archie “The video cuts between me trying to be cool, and failing, dancing in an over the top style while Fred tells the stage hands to play out his vision for the video, a ludicrous combination of balloons and capes. It was a hell of a lot of fun to shoot and edit hopefully it captured the fun essence of the song; while also depicting the ‘Hung Up’ side of it with me getting more and more pissed off/diva-ish as the video continues.”

‘Hung Up’ sees Archie deliver his brightest sound yet, channeling a pop sensibility into his enthralling songwriting. The new single follows the release of his debut single ‘It Rains’ and ‘Blackout’ in 2018. Both songs proved hits at radio with support coming from Radio 1 and Radio X, while they clocked up almost two million streams & counting across Apple Music & Spotify.

He’s hitting the road again in April for his first ever headline tour and will play seven dates across the country, starting at The Jacaranda, Liverpool on April 13th, finishing at London’s Camden Assembly on April 23rd.

LONDON & CARDIFF LIVE SHOWS IN APRIL

IMG_7680Hannah Grace has released her new single ‘The Bed You Made’ through Never Fade Records. The track is the first to be taken from her new EP of the same name, out April 5th ahead of her headline shows in London and Cardiff, and was featured in Spotify’s New Music Friday today.

Subtle, minimal instrumentation provides the backdrop for Hannah’s incredible and emotive vocals on ‘The Bed You Made’. The soft piano tones accompany rich, moving vocal crescendos, which accentuate the track’s touching lyrics. The video for the single is filmed from the perspective of Hannah’s ex, following her in a continuous shot while she explains how she’ll be better on her own.

“I wrote ‘The Bed You Made’ after being hurt by someone I loved,” says Hannah. “It is definitely the most honest and raw song I’ve ever written and I’m actually a little nervous to share it with the world, but writing the song helped me to reach the conclusion that I am ok on my own. Heartbreak is hard, but ultimately I think if we are good to ourselves we’ll be alright in the end. So, this song is for anyone who’s been cheated on by an ex, I hope this song can give you the courage to be okay on your own.“

Throughout the rest of the EP, Hannah’s incredible vocal abilities take centre stage amid minimalist musicality, with stripped back and raw production echoing its lyrical content. The result is a moving and timeless collection of tracks that ranges between the uplifting and gloriously cathartic. The EP was co-written with her friends and collaborators Martin Luke Brown, Gabrielle Aplin and Jessica Sharman.

‘The Bed You Made’ follows the release of previous singles ‘With You’ and ‘Oh River’, both of which proved hits at radio, with plays from both Dermot O’Leary on his Radio 2 show and BBC Radio Wales respectively. She’s also appeared on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show and Zoe Ball’s ITV programme, in addition to a slot at the BBC Biggest Weekend for Radio 2 in Perth, Scotland.

Hannah Grace closed 2018 with the release of the collaborative Christmas EP December alongside Gabrielle Aplin. The lead single and title track featured on 14 ‘New Music Friday’ Spotify playlists, and was spotlighted in the UK and US Top 10, as well as being played on Radio 2. The EP also featured three beautiful covers of classic Christmas tracks.

Hannah first caught the attention of Never Fade label owner Gabrielle Aplin through her covers uploaded onto YouTube. Her covers have since gone on to win over even more high profile supporters and Gabrielle signed her to Never Fade Records, which is distributed worldwide by AWAL.

In 2017 Hannah garnered praise from Lady Gaga after posting a cover of her hit ‘Million Reasons’, which provoked Gaga to tweet the video and call Hannah a “superstar”. Meanwhile in the same year her cover of ‘Praise You’ soundtracked the Lloyds Bank TV advert and clocked up over 3 million streams.

‘The Bed You Made’ is the latest taste of brand new music from Hannah, with her show stopping performance setting the precedent for the year ahead when she is set to turn even more heads.

UK & EU TOUR STARTS IN APRIL

Acclaimed London four-piece The King’s Parade have released the video for their new single ‘Mad’. The video is filmed at the iconic RAK Studios where the band recorded and produced the song alongside Rob Brinkmann (Pixies, Royal Blood, Barns Courtney).

Regarding recording the song at RAK frontman Olly Corpe says, “We recorded ‘Mad’ at RAK right after a 22 hour drive coming from a gig in Madrid. Weirdly, I think the extreme tiredness worked in our favour – we were too tired to care or think and in this case I feel like that added a spontaneity to our performance.”

‘Mad’ finds The King’s Parade delivering a deep song addressing human consciousness. The song flits between smooth and gritty vocals, driven by a captivating percussive sound that builds towards a huge anthemic chorus. It sees The King’s Parade blend alt-soul and blues influences with a pop sensibility that plays like a melding of Alabama Shakes, The Black Keys and Leon Bridges.

Regarding the single Olly says, “‘Mad’ is about the energy felt between two people we tend to call chemistry. It can happen the second you see or meet someone, or it can happen over time, but it’s just a feeling you have within yourself. It can’t be quantified or justified; it’s just a state of being. Sometimes it feels so mysterious that you start to question whether it exists at all. ‘Mad’ is about that moment.”

‘Mad’ is the first taste of new music from The King’s Parade following the release of their Woman EP last year, which saw them receive strong tastemaker support from the likes of BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing, The Independent, Wonderland, Clash, Mahogany and many more.

They’ve built up a fervent live fan base and have completed a number of sold out headline tours across the UK and Europe. The King’s Parade are hitting the road again in April. They will play four countries in Europe before coming to the UK to play three dates across the country including London, Leeds and Brighton. Full tour dates can be found below:

HEADLINE LONDON SHOW ANNOUNCED
CAMDEN ASSEMBLY – MAY 4th

PLAYING SUMMER FESTIVALS
HIT THE NORTH, LIVE AT LEEDS, DOT TO DOT & BARN ON THE FARM

Fast-rising London collective SUN SILVA have released the video for their critically acclaimed new single ‘Sun Skin Air’. The band have also announced a headline London show at Camden Assembly on May 4th. Tickets are on sale now via Live Nation.

‘Sun Skin Air’ is a high-octane cut that combines propulsive beats with Temples-esque harmony-laden psychedelic flourishes. The trippy accompanying video captures the band performing across London amid waves of cosmic mind-bending visuals.

Regarding the single frontman Oscar Gormley says, “We wrote ‘Sun Skin Air’ in a horrible hostel with no fan during a visit to Spain. It’s a hard hitter, kind of Krauty and a bit gritty – probably due to the frustration of being in that room. This song is much weirder than ‘Blue Light’, which is the way we wanted to go with this one.”

‘Sun Skin Air’ has been added to the NME Radio playlist and championed by John Kennedy on his Radio X ‘Xposure’ show. The song has also received strong support from press tastemakers including NME, DIY and many others.

It follows the release of their debut single ‘Blue Light’ last year. Its release saw SUN SILVA burst onto the scene and achieve strong critical acclaim from the likes of DIY, Dork and Clash, alongside major radio support from Radio 1, Radio X and BBC Introducing.

SUN SILVA have been quick to put their firm stamp on the UK live scene and have already played an impressive number of sold out headline shows in London including The Lexington, Sebright Arms and Paper Dress Vintage.

Last year SUN SILVA completed their first tour of the UK in association with the Radio 1 Indie Show. Additionally they played major support slots for the likes of Jungle, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Swimming Girls, while also making their debut festival appearance at Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival.

The band will play further festivals this year and have been announced to perform at Live At Leeds, Dot To Dot, Hit The North and Barn On The Farm. The band have also been announced to support Luna Bay at London’s OMEARA on March 11th.

SUN SILVA have been quick to prove themselves one of the most exciting and in-demand bands to emerge from London and 2019 looks set to be a defining year for the collective.

SUN SILVA are Oscar Gormley (vocals/guitar), Charlie Woof-Byrne (keys), Jake Brown (drums), Sam Becker (bass).

Talented Emerging Artist FØNX Releases New Single ‘Time’

Time Artwork

FØNX delivers jazz-inspired grooves and sun-touched melodies, right on “Time”.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of George Benson and D’Angelo, FØNX delivers RnB-infused pop with jazz, funk and soul influences, merging catchy grooves, memorable hooks and intricate guitar licks with inspired lyrical content. ‘Time’ encapsulates these eclectic influences perfectly, packaging them into an infectious track exploring heartbreak and moving on from it.

“Music has always been the first thing I turn to when I need to vocalize my emotions. I wrote time after breaking up from a long-term relationship and finding out that this person had slept with someone new and clearly moved on swiftly. The only way for me to digest that was to write a song and include elements of humour to distract myself from the hurt,” FØNX explained.

Having first picked up the guitar at the tender age of 7, FØNX, whose real name is Corey Fox-Fardell, is set to release his debut EP later this year.

If ‘Time’ is anything to go by, it will be packed with irresistible grooves and masterful songwriting. With ongoing support from BBC Introducing, a recent feature on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ and playlisting in Zara stores globally, FØNX is undoubtedly one to watch in 2019.

I’ve had the pleasure of being IG friends with FØNX for a while now and he truly is a lovely person with a huge career ahead of him. I can’t wait to see it all unfold. If you’d like to check out a little interview I did with him recently, click HERE.

UK & EU TOUR ANNOUNCED
APRIL 2019

Critically acclaimed London four-piece The King’s Parade have released their brand new single ‘Mad’. To mark the release the band have announced a headline tour across the UK and Europe in April. Tickets are available now via thekingsparade.com

Regarding the single frontman Olly Corpe says, “‘Mad’ is about the energy felt between two people we tend to call chemistry.

They’ve built up a fervent live fanbase and have completed a number of sold out headline tours across the UK and Europe. The King’s Parade are hitting the road again in April. UK HEADLINE TOUR ANNOUNCED
APRIL 2019

ARCHIE FAULKS has released his brand new single ‘Hung Up’. To mark the release Archie has announced a full UK headline tour in April. Tickets are available now www.archiefaulks.co.uk

‘Hung Up’ is a pensive look back on the past, yet delivers an upbeat glimmer of hope for the future.

The single premiered with Clash as their ‘Track Of The Day’ who said, “Archie Faulks is able to match the bitter to the sweet. Able to tackle some of the most complex emotional issues in his life, his work nonetheless has a sparkling melodic touch. Take new single ‘Hung Up’. A song about disappoint, and being able to move past an experience of failure, it confronts a darker moment in Archie’s life. Yet it’s delivered with a sunshine melodic flair, with a neat twist in the chorus that continually surges towards the optimistic.”

Regarding the single Archie says, “‘Hung Up’ is a song about not being able to get over the disappointments of the past. It’s easy to keep replaying these events, isolating different factors to blame for their failure while, conveniently, ignoring your own part in their demise.

“You can’t hide from your own truth; the only way to improve is acceptance and then working out the best way of dealing with it. This song was my way of trying, still to be decided if successfully or not, with dealing with certain truths which I had been hiding from for many years of my life.”

‘Hung Up’ sees Archie deliver his brightest sound yet, channelling a pop sensibility into his enthralling songwriting. The new single follows the release of his debut single ‘It Rains’ and ‘Blackout’ in 2018. Both songs proved hits at radio with support coming from Radio 1 and Radio X, while they clocked up over a million streams across Apple Music & Spotify.

The songs are a taste of Archie’s forthcoming debut album, which fans have been treated to a sneak preview of during his touring last year. Archie played his first shows in the US, toured Europe with Isaac Gracie and Rue Royale, and sold out his headline shows at London’s St Pancras Old Church & Servant Jazz Quarters.

Archie is hitting the road again in April for his first ever headline tour. He will play seven dates across the country, starting at The Jacaranda, Liverpool on April 13th and finishing at London’s Camden Assembly on April 23rd. Archie has also been announced to play The Great Escape Festival on May 10th.

HAAS Releases Music Video For Debut Single “Behind Those Eyes”

IMG_7017

Virginia-based pop/rock project HAAS have released a music video for their debut single, “Behind Those Eyes,” out NOW. After an extensive about of self-discovery and reflection, lead vocalist Sam Haas brings the project to life through a reflective set of lyrics in “Behind Those Eyes.” HAAS approaches the broad pop/rock genre with ease; “Behind Those Eyes” showcases pulsing, rhythmic guitars and powerful lead vocals. The single paves the way for HAAS’ five-track debut EP, due out later this year. The music video, which serves as an open letter of sorts to Sam’s sister, kicks off with an emotional discussion between the pair, setting the tone for a moving, yet powerful, visual. About the track, lead vocalist Sam Haas states:

“Behind Those Eyes” is the debut single off HAAS’ upcoming EP. This song is about the dynamics of my relationship with my sister, at a particular point in time, and how an outside influence was changing my perception of her. The song shows the emotional roller coaster that was a year of my life. It shows how an outside influence can have so much influence over someone. This is a song about my efforts to “save” her, but at some point, you have to stop trying and move on. Though this song is immensely personal, I believe that it can be applied to any type of relationship

HAAS is a pop/rock band from Virginia. The name HAAS stems from lead vocalist Sam Haas who decided to pay tribute to not only her family name but her late grandfather who inspired her through his music. After years of playing around with names and ideas, HAAS became the official name in 2018. Through the use of catchy melodies, rhythmic guitars, and expressive lyrics, HAAS has been able to marry the pop/rock sound. The group uses music not only as an outlet for themselves, but want the music to be an outlet for others. They draw on personal hardships, such as loss, strained relationships, bullying, depression, and anxiety, but also hardships within the world today. HAAS strives to promote a place of safety and inclusivity, where it is okay to be who you are and forget about the real world for a minute. HAAS has discussed being bullied and scared of being who they are and by embracing themselves, they hope to inspire others to do the same; “love who you are and don’t be afraid to do the things you want.” HAAS plans to release their debut five-song EP in the Spring. Their new single “Behind Those Eyes” is available on all digital platforms NOW.

FEBRUARY 28TH

Cinematic alternative-pop trio PLYA have released the live video for their storming single ‘Adrenaline’. Submerging listeners with their captivating style, the video invites you to witness PLYA exposed and real, in an intimate and honest performance.

‘Adrenaline’ was first released via underground Italian label Manifesto at the end of last year and instantly started making traction online, gaining over 700K steams on Spotify in a few weeks. And now with the video, PLYA return to the UK with a brand new headline show at London’s Thousand Island.

Emerging just over a year ago with the track ‘Thinking Of You’ the three piece immediately sparked attention with their artistic songcraft. Perfectly syncing electronica, rock undertones with atmospheric pop, PLYA, led by Julia Sykes, deliver a cosmic sound full of sonic tension and diversity, derived from Julia’s eclectic upbringing, drawing in aspects of London, Europe and Los Angeles.

Since debuting, PLYA were named BBC London’s ‘BBC Introducing featured artist’ in April 2018 and had their Hype Machine Top 10 single ‘Feast My Eye’ hand-selected by Sir Elton John for his Apple Music Beats 1 Radio show. ANNOUNCES NEW STUDIO ALBUM
THE MEDICINE SHOW
RELEASED APRIL 12TH

UK TOUR STARTS THIS WEEK
INCLUDING INDIGO AT THE O2 FRIDAY 22ND

Iconic Grammy and Oscar-winning singer/songwriter and activist Melissa Etheridge has announced the release of her new album, ‘The Medicine Show’, out April 12th, 2019 via Concord Records and Snakefarm Records in the UK.

Reunited with celebrated producer John Shanks (Keith Urban, Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson), Melissa sounds as rousing as ever, bringing a new level of artistry to her 15th studio recording. ‘The Medicine Show’ deals with universal themes of renewal, reconciliation, reckoning, compassion and, most profoundly, healing.

Through the songs, she processed the deep fears and hurting she saw in the nation on both collective and personal levels; ‘Shaking’ about national anxiety, ‘Here Comes the Pain’ personalising the opioid crisis, the unifying ‘Human Chain’ about the hope for healing, and the rocking, anthemic ‘Love Will Live’.

More highlights include album-closer, ‘Last Hello’, drawing on the incredible strengths and courage shown by the survivors of the Parkland school shootings, and the infectious ‘Wild and Lonely’ and ‘Faded By Design’, exploring themes of her past with a new perspective.

Melissa comments, “Calling the album ‘The Medicine Show’ puts straight up, front and centre, that this is about health, wellness, cannabis, this new thought, new paradigm, however you want to talk about it, however you want to understand it. It influences every song on the album. We’re not afraid of this anymore. We’ve come a long way.”

For the recording, Shanks teamed Melissa with drummer Victor Indrizzo, bassist Chris Chaney and keyboardist Max Hart. The sessions were done largely live in the studio, capturing the raw emotion of the material, the performances rocking with bold colours. Shanks extended the arrangements on many of the songs with his guitar, and for the ballad ‘I Know You Know’ brought in electronic strings orchestrated by David Campbell, whose hundreds of acclaimed credits include work last year with Barbra Streisand and Paul McCartney, as well as past works for Adele, Garth Brooks, Beyoncé, Billy Joel, Maroon 5 and Beck.

Since the release of her unforgettable self-titled 1988 debut, Melissa Etheridge’s incredible career to date includes sales of over 25 million albums, 5 platinum and 3 multi-platinum records, 15 GRAMMY Award nominations and 2 wins, a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, plus an Academy Award for ‘I Need To Wake Up’ from the climate change documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.

Her last release, ‘Memphis Rock & Soul’, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Blues Chart. Over the years, Melissa has selflessly dedicated herself as an activist for human rights, LGBTQ issues, breast cancer awareness and alternative medical approaches.

This week, she starts a European tour with a number of UK dates including a show at London’s Indigo At The O2 on February 22nd. Full UK dates below…

LIVE IN LONDON
OMEARA – MARCH 11th
PLAYING WITH LUNA BAY

PLAYING SUMMER FESTIVALS
HIT THE NORTH & LIVE AT LEEDS

Fast-rising London collective SUN SILVA have released their brand new single ‘Sun Skin Air’.

The single premiered with DIY who said, “On newie ‘Sun Skin Air’, London quartet SUN SILVA manage to crib together classic driving melodies, woozy psych and a tendency for the unexpected – to create an intoxicating whole. There’s propulsive drums, sparkling keys and tangents that keep you on your toes, all of which add up to a track that feels remarkably assured for a band still relatively in their infancy.”

The new song is a high-octane cut that combines propulsive beats with Temples-esque harmony-laden psychedelic flourishes.

SUN SILVA burst onto the scene last year with their debut single ‘Blue Light’ and have been quick to prove themselves one of the most exciting and in-demand bands to emerge from London.

The widescreen horn-led pop of ‘Blue Light’ saw the band championed by indie tastemakers including the likes of DIY, Dork and Clash, alongside strong radio support from Radio 1 and BBC Introducing.

Radio 1 Indie Show host Jack Saunders has become such a fan of the band that he took SUN SILVA out on their first tour of the UK in association with the Radio 1 Indie Show.

SUN SILVA continued to put their firm stamp on the UK live scene last year. They sold out their own London headline show at The Lexington, which they followed with high profile support slots for the likes of Jungle and Swimming Girls. The band also played their first festival at Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival.

SUN SILVA have already been announced for further festivals this year and will play Live At Leeds and Hit The North in May. The band have also been announced to support Luna Bay at London’s OMEARA on March 11th. The shows mark the first of a number of exciting live announcements from SUN SILVA to follow shortly.

RELEASES NEW SINGLE
‘AFTER THE SUN’
LISTEN HERE

Australian singer Kim Churchill has shared his new single, ‘After the Sun’, which is an uplifting blend of laid-back acoustic instrumentals and subtle electronica.

‘After the Sun’ builds through gentle, flowing verses into bold, anthemic choruses laden with sun-drenched atmosphere, and was recorded in Berlin and produced by experienced house and hip-hop producer Vincent Kottkamp.

“The decision to work with Vince was kind of playful,” explains Kim, “to not try so hard, just go in, have fun, make the music, don’t get anxious if he throws in an electronic sound that that you feel is not you. Just give room to exist and have fun.”

The track is the first to taken from an upcoming EP due for release later this year, which is part of a wider and exciting project, which will transcend the boundaries of traditional releases and take inspiration from Churchill’s nomadic lifestyle.

‘After The sun’ is the first taste of new music to follow 2017’s Weight_Falls and 2014’s breakout album Silence/Win, which features the hit single ‘Window To the Sky’.
