HEADLINE LONDON SHOW
SERVANT JAZZ QUARTERS – SEPT 4th

London singer/songwriter Archie Faulks has released his debut single ‘It Rains’. The solemn love song features haunting strings among stunning alt-folk and Archie’s irresistible croon.

Regarding the single Archie says, “I wrote ‘It Rains’ about a dying but once great relationship. All we do now is fight and get back together again; with the memories of the glory days being the only thing bringing us back to each other. The love is still there but I realize its no longer helping either of us, but rather taking over our days and nights with worry, anger and fear. It’s a love for things we did together and the feeling we gave each other, but not for the other person themselves. The song is the realization of this but wanting to retreat to ‘our place’ and cling on for a few more days in the vague hope that we can regain an element of the past and not let us be washed away by the flood.”

‘It Rains’ is the debut single from Archie Faulks, who first rose to prominence under the moniker Tenterhook in 2014. As Tenterhook he enjoyed tearaway success over the course of two EPs, which spawned radio hits that led him to be featured as Zane Lowe’s Next Hype on Radio 1, while also receiving support from BBC 6Music and Radio X. He became a worldwide No.1 on Hype Machine, clocked up millions of plays on Spotify and completed a number of tours across the UK and Europe playing with the likes of Asgeir and Rhodes.

Explaining the transition from Tenterhook he says, “I first started releasing music when I was 18, with hindsight perhaps it was a little too soon and I wasn’t happy with the trajectory I was heading in both artistically and mentally.”

He continues on the time away spent focusing on himself musically and lyrically, “I’ve been writing all the new material on my own, trying to create an honest and heartfelt record to both laugh and cry to. I felt like going under my own name so that I no longer had a barrier to hide behind, it’s forced me to face my own truths and make some difficult life choices which has hopefully made me a better songwriter and person.”

Europe got a sneak peak of the new Archie Faulks sound earlier this year when he played a number of shows with Isaac Gracie that went down a storm. To celebrate the release of ‘It Rains’, he will play his first ever headline show as Archie Faulks at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on September 4th. Tickets are on-sale now via Music Glue.

Interview: New Boy Band 4TH AVE – Initiation EP Drops Today!

IMG_1642Hello there!

I had the chance to speak with up-and-coming boy band 4TH AVE about their new EP, Initiation, which is out today! We talk ABC’s Boy Band, how the band was formed, their musical influences, and more.

4TH AVE is made up of Camry Jackson, Jaden Gray, Marcus Pendleton and Mikey Jimenez

If you weren’t already aware, I featured 4TH AVE as one of my ‘Artist to Watch’ posts back when they were first introduced. Their sound is so organic and soulful and fun. Not to even mention the level of maturity and talent these young men possess. You can check out that original post HERE. Now, I’m not trying to say, “I told you so,” but . . . (I told you so).

  • Can you introduce yourselves to those who might not be familiar with you from Boy Band?

We are 4 individuals who came from the show Boy Band on ABC. The judges were Timbaland, Nick Carter, and Emma Bunton. On the show every week we competed against each other in different groups throughout the season. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the final band, but we were blessed enough to make our own, titled 4th Ave!

  • How did the decision to form 4th Ave come about? Was this something that was discussed prior to the show ending? I also want to high five you all for your maturity throughout the process of Boy Band and the unveiling of the final five.

Thank you! After the finale, Timbaland came up to all of us on stage and said he felt that we should be a group. He knew that each of us had something special, and together we’d be unstoppable! We are so very humbled that he input his opinion into our hearts. It was the best choice we could’ve ever made!

  • What has the song writing/recording process been like so far?

Before the show, each of us had some type of familiarity of singing in the studio, song writing, and singing front of big crowds. So when that process began to come our way it was a breeze due to the fact that we had been doing it for some time.

  • Did you get a say on which songs were going to be chosen for your first EP, Initiation? How many songs have you recorded so far?

Yes, we had a major say as to which songs were able to be on the first EP! Of course with the help of our manager Jared Rosenberg, and Musical Director Adam Blackstone, we were able to make the eight choices as to which should be on it. In addition to that, we have recorded at least 19-21 songs!

  • What do you hope fans take away from the EP?

From this EP, we hope that fans take away the raw emotion and passion we put into it! We want them to experience the life of the songs, just as we did when we were singing/writing them! This EP is an emotional roller coaster!

  • Since the formation of 4th Ave, you’ve performed back up for Charlie Puth on national television and you took part in a performance at the March for Our Lives event in Washington, D.C. How excited are you to finally be going out on tour with your own music and your own fans that have been patiently waiting for this for the past year?

What an honor it was to be able to perform behind Charlie Puth on the Voice, and Vic Mensa on March For Our Lives! It’s quite unreal being that we’ve only been a band for 7-8 months, and we are so humbled. Now that we are going on our own tour, with our own music, the only thing that goes through our mind is wow this is really happening this early. We never would’ve thought the ball would get rolling this early!

  • You’ve had incredible fan interactions since your formation. How important is that to you?

Fan interaction is our main focus. In fact we don’t even call them fans, we call them our supporters! They are so important because they keep us going, and they support us no matter what. If there is a meet and greet, they are there, if an EP comes out, they buy it, and if there is a concert, they are there, etc. So we love them with all of our heart!

  • Who are your musical influences? Who would you like to work with in the future?

Individually we have many, but as a group they would have to be:Boys To Men, Michael Jackson, Usher, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, and Justin Bieber just to name a few.

  • Can you let your fans know of any upcoming projects to look out for?

As of right now continue to share our new EP! Lookout for our first Tour, and after tour we may have quite a few surprises for you as well!

Interview: Alternative/Pop Rock Band, SHALLOW POOLS

bluedot5_edit1

Good morning, music lovers!

I recently had the chance to speak with SHALLOW POOLS about their band and their music. Shallow Pools is an alternative/pop rock band made up of three amazingly talented female musicians out of Massachusetts and they’re definitely a band to keep your eye on! Check out the interview and their social media links below:

  • Can you introduce yourselves and describe your roles in the band?

Jess plays guitar, Ali plays drums and Glynnis sings and plays bass!

  • How would you describe your sound?

We’re definitely a mix of pop rock and alternative!

  • What made you decide to transition from playing acoustic covers to playing originals?

We started out playing acoustic covers for fun. Once we started getting more serious and playing in front of small crowds, we realized that we wanted to be playing our own music. We just had to learn to play together first before we could start writing together!

  • What was the songwriting process like?

Jess usually comes up with guitar parts first, and then the drums and bass come after. We almost always work on melodies and lyrics last after we have a solid instrumental! We do rearrange things in the studio, but we like to have a good demo before we record.

  • How important is it for you to draw inspiration from your own experiences in your music?

It’s definitely important! We feel more connected to these songs than any of our old songs because the lyrics are much more personal. Hopefully other people can relate to these songs and connect with them too!

  • I love seeing a band made up of strong, talented women. How gratifying has it been to see the support for shallow pools so far, and to break that stigma that alternative bands are mostly comprised of men?

It’s amazing! We’ve had a lot of people approach us after our shows and they seem really excited about our music. Seeing young girls especially getting excited and asking for photos and autographs is the most gratifying feeling. We’re glad that we get to play a small part in breaking the stigma. There are SO MANY talented women playing alternative music and we’ve been lucky enough to meet a lot of them through playing shows.

  • What would you like listeners to take away from your music and from you as a band?

We hope that listeners can relate to our songs and find comfort in knowing that other people go through similar experiences. We also want people to know that we really want our shows to be inclusive and welcoming spaces.

  • Do you have any upcoming projects or plans for shallow pools that fans should be on the lookout for?

Our next single “Sinking” is coming out 8/24 and hopefully an EP in the fall! We have a bunch of shows booked over the next few months and all of the dates can be found on our social media!

  • Where can fans find you online?

Watch: PERSONA Premieres New Single & Music Video, ‘Whole Again’

IMG_1530

The adage that states “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” hits home for Long Island Indie/Pop rock quartet Persona and their brand new single “Whole Again,” out TODAY  with a corresponding music video (see below). Running off the recent release of their last single, “Indie Cowboy” (and whilst preparing to record a new album), Persona takes indie rock to new heights, continuing to explore past the realms of the genre and incorporating crisp elements of both alternative rock and pop into the mix. Although the track is quite personal, the corresponding music video adds even more layers to the band’s ‘persona,’ showcasing a toxic relationship on it’s way down. Taking their individual, unique pains and applying it to Persona’s creative process, the final result is an indie mish mosh of triumph. About the release of “Whole Again”, the band states:

“Whole Again” is about coming down off of a breakup and finding yourself, exactly where you are supposed to be. I think we all can relate to a toxic love relationship. Where you love a person so dearly, but they are just not good for you and you stay complacent and settle for all the negative outcomes of the relationship. “Whole Again” is about settling in to the uncomfortable situations after a breakup and finding yourself and growing.

Prior to the band’s foundation in 2011, the members spent the better part of the decade not only developing their craft, but becoming one with the character, reality and imagination that makes the band who they are today. “We write songs about events that have happened in our lives. Our songs are about overcoming are struggles, they are literally who we are collectively and individually,” states singer Tom Spartinos. Indeed, the struggle has been very real in past years with a car accident nearly taking bassist Sam Trestmans’ life, a fire destroying guitarist Costas Themistocleous’ home as well as the band’s home recording studio and various battles with demons and addiction.

“The ups and downs of life in general have solidified a strong and sacred bond between us that has reflected in our music,” explains Themistocleous. Indeed, the layered indie-rock sound that Persona has cultivated shines in the band’s debut release, “Take Me To The Mon”. Released in late 2012, the EP is rich with crisp harmonies and nostalgic melodies. “Mayday, We Crashed” was the sophomore EP produced by Gary Cioffi (Transit, Four Year Strong) at Maximum Sound Studio in Danvers, MA. Upon completion of “Mayday, We Crashed”, Persona ultimately crashed and went under the radar. Little did they know it would be a few years before they shared their music with the world again. “After we got home from touring and the release of “Mayday, We Crashed” we burnt out, we all felt it would be best to take a few weeks to ourselves, little did we know how long that few weeks would turn out to be” explains Tom Spartinos on the band’s state after “Mayday, We Crashed.” “We just needed a break. We needed to grow individually to get to the next chapter of our lives. I honestly can’t say it didn’t hurt me every day, but Tom and I kept writing when we had the chance and jamming full band when available,” retorts Costas Themistocleous. In the spring of 2017, Persona released the single and lyric video for “Say What You Say,” followed by former bassist Will Suraci departing from the band and drummer CJ Kostaras (Giants at Large) becoming the back bone. The new Persona spent the rest of the summer releasing singles, accompanied by a music video once a month. “We want to impact people with our music. We want to make people reflect and ponder, and we want to spread a positive message. There is always room for positive vibes and good feeling, especially in the world we live in today,” added Spartinos. The band is currently set to release 3 new singles and videos before they hit the studio in November 2018 to record their 3rd EP and are planning numerous local and national tour dates for 2018 and beyond. “Whole Again” is out on all digital platforms NOW.

FROM ‘RUNAWAY’ THE NEW ALBUM OUT AUGUST 31ST
ALSO CONTAINS RADIO 2 PLAYLISTED LEAD SINGLE ‘HELL OR HIGH WATER’

PRE-ORDER

‘Heart To Love’ is the stunning new single from Passenger, available to stream today and as an instant grat with pre-orders of the Ivor Novello Award-winning singer-songwriter’s new album ‘Runaway’, which is released on August 31st on Black Crow Records via Cooking Vinyl.

“’Heart to Love’ is a song I’ve tried to record a few times and for whatever reason it just wouldn’t work,” says Passenger, aka Brighton’s Mike Rosenberg. “Finally we’ve recorded it in a way that it sounds exciting and how I always imagined it. It’s a simple song really, about trying to find the right person, which is probably something that everyone can relate to.”

The song’s evocative video was shot on Las Vegas’ famous Strip by long-time collaborator Jarrad Seng during a three-week road trip the pair undertook earlier this year, filming promos for every track on ‘Runaway’.

‘Heart To Love’ is the second single to be lifted from ‘Runway’, and follows the Radio 2 playlisted lead single ‘Hell Or High Water’, which has received over 14 million streams across Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.

‘Runaway’ is released on CD, Vinyl LP and download with Deluxe 2CD, 2LP and Deluxe Digital formats available that include Live Acoustic versions of the album recorded across North America. Pre-order the album now and instantly receive four tracks – both singles plus title track ‘Runaway’ and ‘Why I Can’t Change.’

Passenger’s 2016 album, ‘Young As The Morning Old As The Sea’ entered the UK charts at No.1, ahead of Bruce Springsteen, and the subsequent tour saw Rosenberg play his largest headline tour to date with a total audience of over 1.4 million across 29 countries, including playing to over 13,500 people at Amsterdam’s ZiggoDome. Passenger will support the release of ‘Runaway’ with an extensive world tour, beginning in Edinburgh on August 29th with a sold-out show at Queens Hall. His dates in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Brighton are also sold-out. Support on all UK dates comes from Lucy Rose.

Passenger is one of the most successful UK artists of this decade, a streaming phenomenon who has had well in excess of a billion streams on Spotify. The video for his Ivor Novello Award-winning single ‘Let Her Go’ has been viewed almost two billion times. The single reached No.1 in 19 countries, with the accompanying album ‘All The Little Lights’ achieving platinum or multi-platinum status in 11 countries.

‘Runaway’ finds Passenger embracing the epic: the melodies are unforgettable, the choruses colossal. The album, Rosenberg’s tenth in 11 years, was recorded between the UK and Australia with his co-producer, Chris Vallejo, but its aesthetic is North American.  “My dad is American,” Rosenberg explains, “and we used to go over every other summer when we were kids. I always loved it. I guess I was seduced by it a little bit. It was such a culture shock coming from England.”

As well as the Las Vegas-set promo for ‘Heart To Love’, three other ‘Runaway’ videos are available to view now: lead single ‘Hell Or High Water’, shot in the epic landscapes of a series of National Parks; the sublime ‘Why I Can’t Change’, which is seeped in influences such as the Traveling Wilburys and early Fleetwood Mac; and album title track ‘Runaway’, which features Rosenberg running through spectacular locations including Death Valley and Monument Valley, Lombard Street in San Francisco, and New York’s High Line. All tracks are also available as instant grats with album pre-orders.

HANNAH GRACE

‘OH RIVER’
VIDEO RELEASED
WATCH HERE

South Wales born singer Hannah Grace has today released the emotional and captivating video for her single ‘Oh River’ out now on Never Fade Records.

Filmed on the streets of London and Manchester, and directed by Hannah Grace alongside Bee Happy Productions, the video finds members of the public answering the question, “If you could relive or change any moment in your life, what would it be?”

It provokes some really moving answers; from the moment people fell in love, to the deaths of loved ones, people’s reflections on family life, personal achievements and many other beautiful stories.

‘Oh River’ is a song about appreciating the world around you, as Hannah explains, “Oh River is a song about reminding yourself to be present in the moment – especially when you are with the people you love.”

She continues about the video, “I wanted this music video to feature real people and to highlight the beauty in both the big and small moments in life. I was so overwhelmed with how open and honest people were with us. I’m so grateful to everyone who shared their amazing stories.”

The result is a touching and highly emotional piece that truly captures the sentiment of this beautiful ballad.

Releasing ‘Oh River’ earlier this year, Hannah made jaws drop with her incredible vocals, which saw the likes of Dermot O’Leary and his team clear space on his Radio 2 to share her stunning voice. She’s also appeared on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show and Zoe Ball’s ITV programme, in addition to a slot at the BBC Biggest Weekend for Radio 2 in Perth, Scotland.

No stranger to high profile supporters, last year Hannah even caught the attention of Lady Gaga after posting a cover of her hit ‘Million Reasons’, which provoked Gaga to tweet the video and call Hannah a “superstar”.

Already turning heads across the world with her amazing voice and beautiful song writing, ‘Oh River’ marks the first taste of Hannah’s forthcoming debut album and the start of many more exciting announcements to follow.

JOSH MCGOVERN Releases Touching New Single ‘Weight’

JOSH MCGOVERN

‘WEIGHT’
NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
LISTEN ON SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD

Brighton singer/songwriter Josh McGovern has today released his brand new single ‘Weight’.

The new single is a beautifully haunting piece of dark alt-folk/Americana addressing mental health. The song features the breath-taking vocals of Josh pairing with spine-tingling harmonies alongside lush string and brass sections. The expansive yet intimate sound is reminiscent of the songwriting work of Nick Cave, Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen.

Regarding the new song Josh says, “Weight is the most black and white thing I’ve ever written. It’s a stark survey of the end of love and my mental health – the bits no one wants to talk about. I’m not the best at talking about that stuff, but so many people struggle with the same situations. I think it’s important to have songs that people can relate to, I wouldn’t be half of who I am without the beautiful music of my peers.”

Josh draws inspiration from influences as eclectic as traditional Irish folk music to Nick Cave and he produces deeply emotive tracks that exude the poetic facets of his legendary contemporaries. Having grown up listening to artists such as Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, Josh was drawn to writing deeply moving and easily connectable songs, and by studying the melodic attributes of these luminaries, has developed his beautiful style of song writing.

‘Weight’ is Josh McGovern’s first release of 2018 and he returns after wowing critics last year with his unique and intoxicating voice discovered in his debut single ‘The Devil Below Me’ and the follow up ‘Love Left Lost’.

Now with the release of ‘Weight’, Josh McGovern is set to make even an greater statement this year with his distinctive and intriguing sound.

SHE MAKES WAR Returns With New Single ‘Devastate Me’

‘DEVASTATE ME’

NEW ALBUM
BRACE FOR IMPACT
OUT SEPTEMBER 28TH

 UK HEADLINE TOUR

Bristol based multi-instrumentalist producer and visual artist She Makes War has released her new single Devastate Me, taken from her upcoming album Brace For Impact. Pre order the album here.

A blend of raucous guitar and infectious vocals, ‘Devastate Me’ is an unrestrained commentary on the impact of our collective online presence on our lives, from stalker exes to the hysterical screeching of Twitter.

She Makes War mastermind Laura Kidd comments “It’s about photography as a reflex, the way people overshare online and how when we die our online profiles just stay there. The internet is amazing – I’ve built my career using it, but it can be so awful.”

Simultaneously scintillating and scathing, the track is an infectious dose of punk-infused pop with a conscious message. The track is taken from her upcoming album, Brace For Impact, the follow up to 2016’s acclaimed Direction Of Travel.

On her new record, up steps a femme fatale who slays with words of passion over ruthless action. Embarking upon a voyage of self-discovery, her songs stay close to hand-crafted journals packed with stickers and photographs, sparks of lyrical imagination and inspirational notes, simultaneously slaying with killer riffs.

“After finding myself in a happy relationship after a long period of sadness, this record enabled me to ruminate and find ways of creating beauty where there was once pain.” Kidd says. “I’m the strongest I’ve ever been because of all I’ve been through.”

The album naming decision was as dramatic as the music itself, coming after she broke her foot moments before supporting The Brian Jonestown Massacre. With barely enough time to visit A&E, a face full of glitter and steely resolve, she performed a slew of summer festival sets and a BBC 6Music Marc Riley session sporting a fetching knee crutch.

Having my mobility stolen from me was exhausting and depressing. I’d come up with the album title while driving on tour, daydreaming about what it must be like to be in a high-speed car crash”, she recalls. “After struggling through the summer with that phrase in my mind, then finding it written in the venue toilets at the end of a tour in Brighton, it just had to be the album title. It couldn’t have been more apt.”

She Makes War has built a strong following, having played over 600 shows in the UK and Europe and receiving extensive online acclaim plus support from BBC 6 Music. Her last album Direction Of Travel earned plays from Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson, Chris Hawkins, Lauren Laverne and Gideon Coe, as well as John Kennedy at Radio X and Alex Baker at Kerrang.

A fiercely devoted, independent DIY force, She Makes War has crafted her success from a close relationship with fans, placing importance on her music’s physical form and an emphasis on the live experience.

Equally at home playing heartbreaking pin-drop solo sets and fronting her explosive five piece band, she brings the experience back to its core by constantly finding new ways of communicating songs to people, striving to make art a part of the fabric of everyday life.

She Makes War will be heading out on a headline tour this October. Tickets go on sale Mon 23rd July and will be available via shemakeswar.com. Full dates can be found below.

SAM SMITH: The Thrill of It All Tour 2018 | Miami, FL – 7/14/18

IMG_1290

Hello again, music lovers!

I’ve been to a lot of live shows in the past two months or so, but it’s still not enough! This time, my niece and I got to see Sam Smith’s ‘The Thrill of It All Tour’ at the American Airlines Arena in Downtown Miami on July 14th. Sadly, our seats were in the nosebleeds, but it didn’t even take away from the incredible show that he put on for everyone.

The show started promptly at 8pm with his opening act for the night, Cam. Cam is a country singer who I’d never heard of before, but she has a great voice. She was interacting with the crowd throughout her set and really tried to get people to see a personal side to her. This isn’t an easy task when you know the crowd is there to see someone else. With that being said, I felt like she held her own up there! I would definitely check out her music HERE.

Sam’s set began at about 9pm and lasted almost 2 hours. I’m not sure if it’s because of where we were sitting, but the sound for this show was absolutely fantastic. Sometimes at live shows, you can’t hear what the artist is saying because of the acoustics in the venue and where your seats are. This one, however, sounded great. Here’s what the setlist for our show looked like:

  1. Burning
  2. One Last Song
  3. I’m Not the Only One
  4. Lay Me Down
  5. Omen (Disclosure cover)
  6. Nirvana / I’ve Told You Now
  7. Writing’s on the Wall
  8. Latch (Disclosure cover)
  9. Money on My Mind
  10. Like I Can
  11. Baby, You Make Me Crazy
  12. Say It First
  13. One Day at a Time
  14. Midnight Train
  15. HIM
  16. Too Good at Goodbyes

Encore:

  1. Palace
  2. Stay With Me
  3. Pray

At one point, Sam addressed the sadness in his songs by joking, “I was sitting in my home and realized how fucking depressing my music is.” He wanted to make it a point not to have us leave the room “feeling like shit” afterward and I think he succeeded.

One of my favorite moments of the night was during “I’m Not the Only One” when he put his mic down and had the entire crowd singing his words back to him. It was so loud and beautiful. Those are always my favorite moments during a live show, but this one seemed particularly moving.

There was also a fantastic moment at the end of “HIM” where the lights went out and a light bar on stage lit up in rainbow colors.

One thing that I found particularly funny was right before the encore performances. The amount of people that were walking out was puzzling. I had to ask my niece if they were new to the art that is a live show. You don’t leave until the lights come up, people!

Here are some pics I took from the show (again, I apologize for the distance lol):

To be quite honest, despite the distance of our seats from the stage, this was one of my top 3 shows I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to A LOT). Everything about it was worth the mission getting to the AAA. If you have a chance to catch the show, I highly recommend it. You can even get the “cheap” seats and still have a great time!

Get out there and support a musician who wears his heart on his sleeve and is unapologetically proud to be who he is — a musician with true talent and a voice we all love.

WATCH HERE

Red-hot Warner Music Nashville up-and-comer Morgan Evans is giving fans a glimpse into paradise with a brand new music video for ‘Day Drunk’. The clip is available today and premiered exclusively on ETonline.com.

Featuring the singer-songwriter, the self-shot music video follows Evans on a Hawaiian adventure. Surfing and soaking up the sun, Evans cruises the scenic island to the tune of the upbeat summer jam with his wife, Kelsea Ballerini.

“I’ve never been the drinking song guy, but this song came from a real place and is really more about spending a day with your person than it is about just going getting drunk,” Evans tells ET. “There’s a reason why I love it so much and feel like I can sing it.”

Upon release, ‘Day Drunk’ received a huge response across streaming platforms, being added straight onto Spotify’s New Music Friday Canada, Australia and New Zealand as well as the New Pop Sounds and All About Country playlists. It’s also reached #1 on the Australian iTunes Country Chart and went Top 10 on the iTunes Country Charts in eight further territories.

It follows the debut single ‘Kiss Somebody’ which is currently Top 10-and-climbing at Country radio and skyrocketed into Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart. With 41million+ on-demand streams, the smash hit is the first look at his forthcoming Warner Music Nashville / Warner Bros. Records full-length debut album.

A bona fide Country force in Australia, Evans is forging a path as one of the genre’s hottest up-and-coming stars having garnered countless awards and honors, most recently claiming Country Work of the Year for ‘Kiss Somebody’ at the 2018 APRA Music Awards, and receiving praise from the likes of Rolling Stone who declared him “a savvy performer with strong songwriting chops”. He has also been named one to watch for 2018 by CMT, SiriusXM, Billboard, Amazon Music, Google Play, Sounds Like Nashville, Pandora and more.

After sharing the bill with global superstar Taylor Swift, Country hit-maker Cole Swindell, James Blunt and more A-list names as well as returning to the UK for a third time to play at this year’s C2C festival in both London and Glasgow, Evans will headline select dates throughout the summer and will featured as a special guest on Chris Young’s Losing Sleep World Tour this September.

His highly anticipated debut album is in production, with additional details to be revealed soon.

THUNDER CLUB Premieres New Single “Go Ahead”

image1

Gearing up for their upcoming July 13th EP release, Baltimore alt pop/rock band Thunder Club have dropped their newest single, “Go Ahead,” out TODAY. Filled out with warm, glossy guitars and catchy bass-and-drum verses, “Go Ahead” is the perfect in-between style and sound with it’s fellow EP tracks, not yet released. With a sweet, nostalgic feel, soaring harmonies, and hook-laden guitar parts, “Go Ahead” is a summery track layered with electric energy and intricate production. The band most recently previewed new material at LAUNCH Music Conference. About the single, Thunder Club states:

“Go Ahead” is a sweet and instantly nostalgic song that features soaring harmonies and guitars that are an instant hook, and is sure to get stuck in your head upon first listen. Starting with warm, glossy guitars before descending into a catchy bass-and-drum verse that serves as the perfect backdrop for the endearing vocals that follow, “Go Ahead” is the perfect in-between in style and sound with its fellow EP tracks with the simple, upbeat arrangement present on “Pocketbook Lover” and the layered, detailed production present on “Hot Words”. “Go Ahead” is a bittersweet love song told from the perspective of someone who is deciding whether to continue in a rocky relationship or let the other person go ahead. Throughout the song, the storyteller is reliving the ups and downs of their relationship with nostalgia. They are inclined to move on, but at the same time, they “don’t want to wait in line to start again.”

Following the release of their acclaimed self-titled EP, Thunder Club exploded onto the Baltimore music scene after winning a local Battle of the Bands competition to perform at Towson University’s spring festival, and quickly gained a loyal fan base in their native city with a reputation for electrifying live performances. Thunder Club was then nominated for WTMD’s “Best New Artist”, and had their hit track “Racer” featured on the Charm City Sampler, a compilation of the year’s best Baltimore acts. In addition, they were guests on the popular podcast “Live from the Studio,” where they showcased their youthful spirit and musical chops. Thunder Club has since brought their high-energy show to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where the band was featured in Long’s Park Summer Series and the nationally recognized LAUNCH Music Conference.

Award-winning UK pop star George Shelley has today released his debut solo single ‘Technicolour’ on the new forward-thinking record label Touch Recordings. He’ll be performing the track live on stage at the huge Pride celebrations tomorrow in London’s Trafalgar Square.

‘Technicolour’, produced with Alex Beitzke and Bradley Spence (Florence + The Machine, Gabrielle Aplin, Take That) is a bouncy pop tune pulling together house beats and synths to create a huge dance anthem celebrating a triumphant fresh start for the singer after battling personal tragedy and family loss.

Regarding the single George says, “Kicking off summer with ‘Technicolour’ feels like a fresh start for me. The song has me rebelling at the top of my lungs against everything I was afraid of in the past, and marks a new era for my music, music that has undeniably helped me through a challenging journey. I just want everyone to really feel the love and joy in the song, and find the happiness and pride in the lyrics.”

George Shelley originally rose to fame as a founding member of Union J, scoring three Top 10 singles and winning the ‘Best British Breakthrough’ award at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.

DEARLY Premieres Music Video For Single “Get With You Alone”

IMG_0968

Just one month after the release of her debut single, indie pop powerhouse Dearly spawns pure beauty in the music video for “Get With You Alone,” out NOW.

Previously known as Amanda Jones, Dearly dropped her debut single “Get With You Alone’ (produced by Caleb Turman and Austin Bello) in May, and racked up a cool 15,000+ Spotify streams in just a few short weeks, gaining pop notoriety on her social media accounts.

A seamless blend of mainstream indie, soulful pop, and Top 40’s R&B, “Get With You Alone” is the perfect representation of Dearly’s rebrand, while simultaneously writing a rather melancholy, yet painfully honest, narrative about being in love with someone who is taken.

The music video is nothing short of stunning, adding to the already-pleasing package that is Dearly. Comprised of mostly close-up performance shots, Dearly successfully performs in conjunction with the tracks mood, an overall dark, yet authentic, take on adoring from afar. A seasoned pop veteran, vocalist Amanda Jones made the choice in 2017 to shift gears and bring to light her most authentic artistry through the stage name Dearly. About both the video and the success of the track thus far, Dearly states:

“For the video, I wanted to create something simple and dreamy- and I think we nailed it. The response to the single has been AMAZING so far- I’ve passed 15,000 streams on Spotify which has blown my mind. This is only the beginning and I’m so excited to see where  this new project takes me! I wanted the video to be on the simpler side, for viewers to really FEEL the song.”

23 year old velvet-obsessed indie pop artist Dearly wanted to adopt a stage moniker that encompassed every facet of her artistry; someone sincere, open, and deeply invested in her art. Inspired greatly by her interpersonal relationships, Dearly (previously known as Amanda Jones), promises a slick combination of dreamy vocal melodies and groovy baselines, her own personal artistic equation. Although well-seasoned in the music industry, having gone by her birth name on stage for many years prior, Dearly is approaching this new era rather personally, with a clear-cut indie-based vision showcased in her debut single “Get With You Alone.” Out 5/18, the track showcases her first dip into a candid style that is unapologetically her. She is Dearly.

GIVERS Release New Single ‘Love Is Like A Fire’

RELEASE NEW SINGLE

‘LOVE IS LIKE A FIRE’

SPOTIFY / YOUTUBE

ANNOUNCE NEW EP
‘MOVIN’ ON’
OUT AUGUST 3RD VIA GLASSNOTE RECORDS
PREORDER HERE

Louisiana art-pop trio GIVERS have released their new single, ‘Love Is Like A Fire’. The track follows their previous single, ‘Collide’, both of which are taken from their newly-announced upcoming EP, Movin’ On, which is available to pre-order now.

A blend of vibrant rhythms, glistening synthesizers and ethereal vocals, the track flows seamlessly through hook-laden verses before ascending into a soaring, euphoric chorus. As with their previous releases, the track showcases their distinctive talent for drawing on eclectic influences and channelling them into beautifully artistic and infectious sonic creations.

‘Love Is Like A Fire’ is the second single to be taken from their forthcoming EP Movin’ On, which was produced by Dave Cobb and Eric Heigle and recorded at the iconic RCA Studio A in Nashville.

Since their breakout 2011 release In Light, GIVERS have embraced a vision of life and love that, in the band’s early years, bubbled with the optimism of unchallenged youth. Formed in 2008 in the sweaty dancehalls of Lafayette, Louisiana, GIVERS knew right away that they had something special. Crafted from the improvisational and dance-fuelled atmosphere of the area’s zydeco, Cajun, and jazz cultures mixed with an affection for new wave, funk, and world music, the infectious results brought a quick rise to the spotlight for the young band.

From the start, the band achieved dizzying success. GIVERS toured world-class stages, both international and domestic, becoming a fixture on the major festival circuit, including Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, and winning appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! The band’s electricity even struck Neil Young, who caught GIVERS on Late Night and mused about it, in a stream of consciousness, in his autobiography.

Now each in their early 30s — ragged, accomplished, philosophised — the band’s creative nucleus of Taylor Guarisco, Tif Lamson, and Josh LeBlanc has transitioned from celebrating life to probing its complications: the cruel fiction of un-met expectations, the deflation in opportunities lost and the elation in new ones found. In the process, they left the smalltown place of the band’s birth (Lafayette, LA.) for the cultural kaleidoscope of New Orleans, now the site of their coming of age.

MOVIN’ ON EP TRACKLIST

  1. Collide
  2. Half Life
  3. Love Is Like A Fire
  4. Movin’ On

ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

RAINIER FOG

THEIR FIRST NEW ALBUM IN FIVE YEARS
OUT AUGUST 24TH VIA BMG

RELEASE NEW TRACK
‘SO FAR UNDER’
LISTEN HERE

BAND CURRENTLY ON WORLDWIDE HEADLINE TOUR

ALICE IN CHAINS have announced an August 24th release for the long-awaited RAINIER FOG (BMG), their first album in five years. They’re giving fans another sneak preview of the album with today’s release of second track ‘So Far Under’ – click HERE to listen.

‘So Far Under’ follows the recent release of ‘The One You Know’ and its Adam Mason-directed companion video, which has already amassed over 2.3 million views – click HERE to watch.

Both ‘The One You Know’ and ‘So Far Under’ are available as instant downloads by clicking HERE to pre-order RAINIER FOG.

The album will be available digitally, as well as on CD and limited-edition double 180-gram clear LP with white and black splatter available only from the band’s online store HERE.

About ‘So Far Under’, Alice In Chains vocalist/guitarist William DuVall says, “It’s about feeling completely up against it – outnumbered, surrounded, facing seemingly unbeatable odds and being really pissed off about it. It was inspired by personal circumstances, as well as events in the wider world. But it’s not as resigned to defeat as it may seem. The lyric is a cold, hard assessment of a difficult situation but the music has a message all its own. There’s still room to flip the script. Every aspect of writing and recording this song will always be remembered with a lot of joy – from recording the basic tracks and the guitar solo at Studio X in Seattle to doing further overdubs at Nick Raskulinecz’s studio in rural Tennessee. Everyone in the band and our studio team really stepped up and knocked it out of the park on this one. We’re extremely proud of this song and the entire album.”

RAINIER FOG marks a few firsts for the band: in addition to being their first album in five years, it’s their first album for BMG and their first time recording in their hometown of Seattle in more than 20 years (worth noting that the album title is a tribute to Seattle). They recorded at Studio X, the same facility where they tracked 1995’s self-titled Alice In Chains album (back when the studio was known as Bad Animals).

The RAINIER FOG recording process also saw the band spend time at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles and at the Nashville studio of producer Nick Raskulinecz. RAINIER FOG is the third straight Alice In Chains album recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz and engineer Paul Figueroa. The album was mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool).

RAINIER FOG follows 2013’s Grammy nominated The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which entered Billboard’s Top 200 chart at No. 2 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums charts and the iTunes Rock Album Chart. Its first two singles, ‘Stone’ and ‘Hollow’, both shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and ‘Voices’ hit No. 3. All three tracks stayed on the chart for over 20 weeks.

Alice In Chains (vocalist/guitarist Jerry Cantrell, vocalist/guitarist William DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) are currently touring Europe following two triumphant sold-out shows in the UK at Leeds O2 Academy and Shepherd’s Bush Empire. They have just announced another headline tour of North America running from August 22nd in Vancouver. Full dates and ticket info can be found HERE.

Over the course of their remarkable career, ALICE IN CHAINS have garnered multiple Grammy nominations, sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and amassed a diehard international fanbase whose members number in the millions. They remain one of the most successful and influential American rock bands of all time.

LIKE SATELLITES Premiere Debut Single “Muscle Memory”

IMG_0957

Although just their debut single, Toronto alternative pop/band Like Satellites show both experience and maturity on “Muscle Memory,” out NOW. A product of over two years of doing underground work, including extensive practicing, lineup changes, and writing/recording new tracks, Like Satellites, featuring lead vocalist Leah Gillespie, are characterized by their commanding melodies. “Muscle Memory,” a track inspired by a turbulent relationship, plays with feelings of teenage-esque angst, while simultaneously weaving in ambient synths, pop structures, and a slew of alternative influences, including some of Gillespie’s classic female-empowered favorites, Hey Monday, We Are The In Crowd, and Paramore. To promote the single release, Like Satellites released an accompanying lyric video, which can be viewed here. About “Muscle Memory,” the band states:

“Muscle Memory” was a song that came out of a breakup with a former band I (Leah Gillespie) was in so it’s pretty angry. It was pretty messy, and people I thought were my best friends were telling me that I was nothing without them. When I sat down to write I was bitter, angry, but mostly defiant. I love that this is the song we’re releasing first because of that. Getting all those feelings out there, and having other people love it too is like being vindicated in my belief that what we’re doing is enough.”

Like Satellites is a Toronto based alternative pop/rock band anchored by singer Leah Gillespie, and bassist Logan Arsenault. After two years of practicing, writing, and reworking their lineup they are finally releasing their much anticipated single Muscle Memory produced by Sam Guaiana (Like Pacific, Rarity, Carried Away, We Were Sharks) and mastered by Andy Krehm. They are currently playing with Ryan Goodman on guitar, and Alex Bullen on drums. With shows planned across the Toronto area, and an EP planned for this Winter, Like Satellites is poised to explode onto the music scene. From their inception in 2016, Like Satellites has been the love-child of singer/songwriter Leah Gillespie (also known as Leahishazy). With a penchant for soaring melodies and punchy lyrics, she has been a slow-burner in the local music scene. With influences ranging from We are the In Crowd, All Time Low, The 1975, and Lights to Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Something Corporate, and Bring Me The Horizon, Like Satellites has a fresh sound that still hints at summers at Warped Tour and teenage angst. They blend their collective experience in bands to create the right balance of maturity and melodrama, and through everything one thing has remained stable: this band’s drive to release music that people want to listen to with the windows down and the volume turned way up. “Muscle Memory” is available NOW.
